Yea I watched his game against UB. I wasn’t surprised when he tested at 6’1. He was listed at 6’3 in the program and I was like no way at the game. He has good body control and he’s a very good hands catcher. He doesn’t really separate a ton from guys granted it was against an FBS team but he adjusts well to throws. I was disappointed in his height measurement as well as his slower time.He has really good other testing numbers but I didn’t see that explosion much like with AD Mitchell when you watch his tape. I think he could be a good boundary possession receiver with time. Would look best in a west coast system imo

I’ve always stated it’s a good year to get 2 WRs and agree we need some sort of size component with one of them. A guy that I really like as a big WR to take late is: JT Clarke WR UTSA- Dude is super talented at give or take 6’2 215. The reason why he won’t go is he’s a medical guy. 2 torn ACLs and an ankle will ward off a lot of teams but I really like him if he can bounce back. Take a look he’s literally not found on a lot of boards because he didn’t play at all in 2023 I also like the Janke(pronounced Yawnke) twins from SDSU but they have yet to test so I don’t want to put my stamp on them. They will on Wednesday

Mock Draft - Post Combine & First Wave Of FA - Updated On Page 2
gonzo1105 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
I liked Franklin early as a great fit for the Bills but his combine and body type turned me off to him. With that said, it’s clear the Bills have some level of interest in him with the private workout and meeting at the combine. I’ll never hate on a guy putting himself out there to be judged. -
I get the need for a bigger WR. I also think there is very little chance that Brian Thomas and AD Mitchell are on the board when the Bills pick. I also think that the Bills not getting a 3rd round comp pick is going to hinder the possibility of trading up. That leaves Legette and even Gunner , who is a huge fan of him had readily admitted people in the industry don’t see him as a 1st rounder even tho he does. I see him as a late round 2 guy but had him going 43 in my latest mock. I just don’t think the 3 guys people constantly talk about are truly feasible options
-
I was being a smart ass man, let’s be frank you or I, or anyone else on this board have no idea what the Bills are going to do. You have no idea if they will take Malachi Corley or any other perceived slot or small WR. I also have no clue if they are only targeting big WRs. At least I’ve been willing to discuss all options both WR and non WR at 28 instead of pigeonholing myself to 3 human beings like 90% of this board has done. I was one of the first who brought up both McConkey and Roman Wilson who will both go around ish the Bills pick only to be told nope impossible. I sat here and talked about DT being a legit possibility which it still is in round 1 when Jeremiah mocked Jerzahn Newton but no one wants to have an open mind because it’s Brian Thomas, AD Mitchell or Xavier Legette or bust on this board
-
We’re not allowed to discuss anyone under 6’2 around here as an option for the Bills unless he runs a 4.21. Im making a smart comment. I think Corley is an option at 60 if the Bills pass on WR I’m well aware the Bills scout everyone. I know NFL scouts. I use to work for the UB football team when Leipold was there as a recruiting assistant/ offensive QC/ Video guy. I’ve coached at the college and HS level. Im pretty clued in to what does and doesn’t happen in the process.

This won’t fly with the too small slot only people

Oh no not Odell Beckham

Jeremiah has us taking a DT at 28 in his latest mock

It’s not a temper tantrum if it’s factual -
I’ve always had Odunze as my # 2 WR in this draft. He won’t go ahead of Nabers and appears to be dropping. If he falls into the mid teens I start making calls for him

Brandon Beane Addresses Media - NFL Annual Meeting
gonzo1105 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
In your example of Diggs he only has two seasons of double digit TDs and 6 years of 1,000 yards. You’re also assuming that any WR is going to be a monster right off the bat which they will not be esp in his case. Legette, if he is going to be a bonafide all pro # 1 is going to take a couple of years to achieve that -

Do you believe that Diggs being a cap hit at 28 million dollars with decreasing production as beneficial right now? I guess if you see it as a blip and he bounces back then yes. if you see his last half of the season and playoffs as a sign of things to come then it’s a terrible contract to have on the books -
A class that has a bunch of guys who may or may not develop into starters is not a loaded class. It’s a class with depth. Maybe we just have different qualifications of loaded then. For example the 2022 draft imo was loaded at Safety with NFL starting quality safeties. Hamilton, Brisker, Cine, Cook, Pitre, Daxton Hill amongst others going in the first two rounds. Then you had guys like Kerby Joseph going in round 3. Then as the draft went along there was less developmental guys.
-
Right so it has depth but isn’t loaded with guaranteed guys. There are a lot of developmental guys in this draft. That’s what I said to you and you disagreed lol

Brandon Beane Addresses Media - NFL Annual Meeting

No, I think you’re not looking deep enough into it. Again no one answers the question why a highly talented athletic freak struggled to see the field for 4 out of his 5 years. The only thing people point to was he was a HS QB. Well I just pointed out there are hundreds of examples of this and no one wants to rebutt besides well it’s clear you want to disagree. Can’t point to NFL talent, can’t point to a high level program at South Carolina. So it’s points to something else who knows but I lean towards struggles to process or learn a playbook since he’s so athletically gifted -

So what took him so long if he was incredibly talented and smart. It’s not like South Carolina had a ton of NFL level talent in front of him. Juice Wells will be drafted but not much beyond that. People don’t want to answer these questions. There has to be some reason and it’s not he took a long time to learn the position because he was a HS QB. I would actually say and this is an assumption that he might lack intelligence to pick things up -

People make this case. There are a lot of QBs in HS who transition to other positions. He’s not special or some outlier when it comes to this. There are 100s of examples of this -

And I’m not. The only reason why he became the guy at SC was because Wells got hurt this year. You’re not versatile if you’re not on the field. I don’t believe he’s a prospect that will instantly crack the WR rotation. For all his good traits he has just as many bad traits. -

Now do 2022 and 2021 for me. It’s amazing how brainwashed people on here are for a one year wonder who’s old who couldn’t get on the field for 4 years and everyone wants him as our first round pick. Kincaid was old but he was a very polished player who could come in and contribute right away. The fact people think this guy is going to come in at X and play right away is completely asinine. He didn’t play in college for 4 years at South Carolina were not talking Ohio Stare here. His former college teammate Juice Wells is a better player. I get it you love him and you have some respect around here so others follow. -

January 2025. If he was so good why didn’t he get the chance for 4 years. This is my problem with some people. Okay he flourished one year. Why didn’t he get an opportunity supposedly for 4 years before that. Work ethic? Guys better than him? So im supposed to then believe a guy who couldn’t flourish or get on the field or however you want to put it is the 28th best player in a tremendously deep WR draft No a raw WR prospect at 24 is not a good thing. You expect a 24 year old prospect to be a polished player by now. If he was 21 or 22 I wouldn’t have a problem. Let’s say he takes 2 years to get up to NFL speed due to his rawness. He’s now 26 and has 3 years left. Great we get fantastic production for 3 years then he’s going to seek a huge deal at 29 years old. It will likely be his only big contract and we don’t know if he’ll break down at 31 or 34 like you say but your going to either take that risk and pay him a ton or lose him -

He also has a ton of flaws in his game as well and will be pushing 24 when hes in the NFL his rookie season. If he was a guy who was 21 I would be more game for him but he's not. There are so many people here who are going to be highly disappointed when the Bills pass on him at 28. -
I 100% disagree on the Safety class being loaded. Does it have some depth to it I can get behind that but outside of Cooper DeJean, I don’t have a 2nd round grade on another safety. It’s not loaded it has some developmental depth prospects

Guys that Beane described lean towards a McConkey, Worthy or Roman Wilson.

He plays outside and a lot project him to the slot because of his route running. That comment was very interesting and describes a guy like a McConkey or a Worthy way more than guys like Legette -
The Case for Trading Back [Discussion]
gonzo1105 replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you want to trade back and get a 3rd rounder you probably have to move down to about 43 without giving up much of anything back. I would think you would be able to get a quality guy at 43 but is it the guy you covet esp at WR. I think its more likely that the Bills make a smaller move down into the 30's grab an extra 4th rounder and then use 2 of those 3 4th rounders to move up into the 3rd round.
