For as much love as Jordan Travis got esp after the injury, I thought their season offensively was disappointing considering they had 5 skill NFL guys that will probably be drafted(Coleman, Wilson, Benson, Bell, and maybe Travis). As i have said a couple of times they didn’t utilize the field between the hashes a lot and threw a lot of go balls and hoped that he or Coleman would come down with it. Idk if that was playing to Travis strengths , the WRs or both but it was a really weird year esp cause they went 13-0

Gunner's 2024 Mock Draft - FINAL v3.0 NOW LIVE (p.13)

I’m not gonna skim because I don’t recall your 2020 rankings and maybe that’s what you’re going off of but Higgins and Pittman were WRs 7 and 8 in that draft. Was your grouping 5 deep after Ruggs, Jeudy , Lamb? Like I said can’t recall. I know I was higher on Jeudy and Jefferson than Ruggs for sure but man that draft while deep was very boom or bust probably a lot like this one. I wonder what Ruggs would have been if he didn’t do stupid crap -
I think DeJean is a backup option to the WRs and DTs they like but I do think he’s on the board for them for sure
-
Im with you on Drake Maye, reminds me of Sam Darnold coming out
-
Yes, I think that’s ultimately the difference here. Guys like you and me are okay with a Franklin or McConkey or whomever and we realize them may never be an elite # 1 type WR but will have a good 10 year career. While the ceiling is higher on Thomas Mitchell Legette the floor is they bust out of the league and I really like Thomas game. I still like McConkey at 28 but I’d say the likelihood of him is slim, ultimately we’re all gonna root for the guy they take and hope for the best

Gunner's 2024 Mock Draft - FINAL v3.0 NOW LIVE (p.13)

Yup I think that’s why Beane was pissed about it too -
6’1 souped up guys who run a 4.4 don’t get passed up year after year. He also started 6 games as a senior with Beamer last year and Rattler and only caught 17 balls so it’s not like he wasn’t given opportunities as you are saying. He was just didn’t capitalize until this year

Our scouts are not the problem. The GM, HC, and Director of Scouting typically make early round picks with the area scouts reports but it’s Day 3 where area scouts make their mark on the draft since the GM/HC can’t be everywhere and area scouts are out all year watching these guys. -
He doesn’t though. That point is a great hyperbole statement if you’re a fan of his. He doesn’t even have good tape in his whole career before this year and since I’m not part of the process I have to make general assumption on why a 6’1 jacked up speed freak couldn’t put it together at all. Typically due to my experiences of being in a college system is either he’s a dumbass or he’s got a ***** attitude.

My comment on Franklin really has nothing to do in comparison with Legette. Yes I have a big problem with a guy who has one year of production and failed in 17 starts before that to be successful. I look at the guys whole career not just one year of tape. I’m making assumptions and I know someone said it had to do with Justin Fuente being incompetent(not you) but I just don’t believe that Fuente would crush his big opportunity to spite Legette. Beamer was there two years ago as well and he still couldn’t put it together. I just think there has to be some issue I nor you are privy too when it comes to learning a playbook or attitude . Guys that physically talented don’t fail for 4 years for no reason and he didn’t just fail he really failed I know you disagree but I really think that if Juice Wells didn’t get hurt last year Legette wouldn’t have had such gaudy stats and opportunities We’ll just have to wait and see in two to 3 years

Yup that’s my bad

Which round are the Bills more likely to trade up....1st or 2nd??
gonzo1105 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
read a trade value chart. 6 spots in the 2nd is an 80 point difference. That would require both 5ths and our top 6th to do. All 3 6th rounders don’t equal 80 points. The Bills also draft a lot of starting and depth guys on day 3. With your mindset we wouldn’t have Taron Johnson, Matt Milano, Christian Benford, Tyler Bass, Dane Jackson the last 4 years, Gabe Davis the last 4 years -
He’s a precise route runner who can take the top off of a defense. Has great acceleration and changes up his speeds on routes making him deceptive. He’s obviously thin and I worry about press on him in the NFL but he did fine with it in college. He’ll also have to expand his route tree as well so he is not an immediate guy and may never be a true # 1 but he’ll be a really high end 2 or low level 1 in the NFL and I can live with that at the end of round 1. People on this board expect 1,000 yards rookie year and it’s not going to happen. Diggs, Cook, Kincaid are gonna get the bulk with Shakir, Samuels, Knox getting their share as well. If we get 40-50 catches for 700 yards I’ll consider that a win for any rookie we decide to draft

If you told me I could get a healthy Robert Woods who played with Josh Allen his whole career at 28 I’d take it -

No the Bills traded 10 for 27, a 3rd, and a next years first. Poster either misheard or Trapasso is off on his valuation -
I thought Franklin was the best fit for the Bills and strayed away from that after the combine but as we get closer I find myself drawn back to him again as best fit
-
To learn about Franklin. You basically bring them in and have Nix break down the offense for you and progressions and reads etc. So it’s not like you bring in Nix and just ask him about Franklin all day. Once Nix breaks all that stuff down then you bring in Franklin and ask him very Similar type questions to see if the information matches up which will show the Bills what his knowledge is of the offense etc.

To me it seems way easier just moving down into the 30s than trying to make multiple separate trades and hoping you have 3 teams willing to accept trades with your compensation terms -

All you have to do is look at a draft value chart to know that’s wrong unless a team is desperate. Jacksonvilles pick is worth 950 points Bills pick worth 660 for a difference of 290 points. If the Bills gave up 60 this year then yes of would make sense. To give up a 2025 2nd rounder is the equivalent of a 2024 3rd rounder which will be about 130 points for the Bills leave them about 160 short -

I agree that OT and OL in general is going to have a lot of humans drafted early. Look at how annual deals are going up because there are so few quality lineman in the league
