Who are your favorite 5th-7th rd RB prospects?
gonzo1105 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love Schrader who was already mentioned. Don’t know if Ray Davis out of Kentucky makes it there but if he does that’s a great 5th round pick. Think he goes around 4 though -
From a trade chart perspective it’s actually a slight win for the Bills. I’m just spitballing as I think they would want Brian Thomas but is he there at 20? I mean small chance. The Dolphins have spent a lot of time with Xavier Worthy so could it be Buffalo trying to move ahead of them for Worthy? I actually don’t mind giving up 60 because it’s a very dead spot for the Bills when it comes to position of need. Sure you could say Safety but the Bills might be getting just as good a safety in the 3rd/4th as in the 2nd. My grading of safeties isn’t that far apart. I fully expect DL to be washed by the time 60 roles around and they might be able to get an offensive tackle but goal # 1 is to get a big play WR in this draft. With that said Fillipponi is kind of known as a blowhard at times down in the Pittsburgh area so this could be more conjecture than something he’s heard

Randy Mueller - maybe only ~150 draftable players this year

To play devils advocate why would teams want day 3 picks to move down if their aren’t draft able players -

I think that’s why you saw Beane trading out so much in the 6th round last year. I think his board had run dry and with other teams willing to offer next years picks he took them. Might do the same this year if his board dries up again -
Yes I think its a very fair possibility. I had him at 26 in my first mock for that very reason going to Tampa. It would not surprise me if both Chop Robinson and Darius Robinson go in front of him but I do think a contender such as Buffalo or Baltimore could take a shot at him late in round 1 for sure.

Won’t need to trade up for him imo

Who should the Bills draft at #58? - TSW Mock Draft 2.0

Cole Bishop is better than Javon Bullard, Yea I said it. -
I've said it once and I'll say it again. While simulators are fun to do, they involved unrealistic trades and player rankings that are severely out of date at this time of year.

You are too much looking at before Mike Norvell became the HC. This past years team was extremely disciplined and sound in all aspects this past year. They don’t taunt like teams of the past or do look at me dancing. They just went out and played ball and beat the snot out of teams.

I agree and I 100% think we are going to take a blocking TE somewhere in the mid rounds so we can keep Kincaid flexed if Knox gets injured or cut after this season
-
For a guy who couldn’t block they sure lined him up a lot in the traditional Y position last year which really surprised me. I expected him to play a lot more F than he did in actuality.
-
Well there you have it folks, we are def not trading up for a WR because Von Miller has never been right about anything Bills personnel wise.
-
People need to get a 1,000 yard rookie out of their head immediately. The returners are going to get the bulk of the targets and the rookie will get their share but 7-800 yards would be a win for a WR that we draft.

Jordan Phillips Signs with the G-Men
gonzo1105 replied to ChevyVanMiller's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn’t enjoy it either if I had to keep 5-10% body fat, train hard 90% of my life with minimal breaks, be in constant pain and couldn’t eat anything besides lean meat and vegetables -
So I know the Co offensive coordinator there on a personal level and I interviewed with their former HC John Steigelmeier who retired recently. I was very high on Tucker Kraft last year as the guy I know Ryan Olsen coached TEs when he was there. McCormick is raw but he has all the traits to be a high level guard at the next level so I do hs e a little bias
-
McCormick has a chance to go in round 3 def see him off the board in the 4th. Been super high on him throughout the process. I have a strong insight into the SDSU program
-
In my first mock I was incredibly close to putting him there at 3 but chose to play it safe
-
I can think of only two on this list I really liked that failed. Kadarius Toney and Jerry Jeudy who isn’t really a failure just never has lived up to his draft hype. There were plenty of Shenault and Juju lovers on this board for sure
-
To me the idea isn’t awful awful but really to me the value has to exceed the importance to team. Im very high on Dorian Williams and believe he’s a future high end starter but it also means you have to spend another high midrounder on a LB for depth with two undersized LB. If you’re telling me someone is willing to part with a 2nd I probably do it for the reasons many have laid out. He has some injuries, he’s aging, and he’s not very big plus has a bigger contract but if I’m getting a mid rounder than no thanks

Interesting and detailed Bills Draft visits chart
gonzo1105 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s not surprising to me the skill level in this draft is way better than the trenches particularly the defensive side of things and the Bills needs are more at the skill spots -
Maybe I’m dumb but I didn’t read but what is the criteria for a hit vs a fail
-
I love JT Clark out of UTSA as a late round/UDFA guy. Everything you look for but has had some big time injuries so his Medicals have kept him from testing/2023 season. Might have to go the way of Ivan Pace from last year.

This is not a shot at anyone really and your best bet is the Vikings obviously but the problem with trades in a two rounder is the trading down team really won’t benefit anymore so because they will never be able to utilize the picks nor will the trading up team want to do it because they’ll make one pick and be done. That’s why I like 7 rounder mocks with trades the problem with that is most GMs check out by round 3 because the players they know in the process drops off a ton. The one I do on another site typically does it but isn’t doing it this year because no one is leading it. The guy used to run it had his own draft website but moved to Chins to teach English. My favorite one I ever did was a 5 rounds in 5 nights where it was in a chat with two podcasters where you would private message your trades and picks and they would announce them like a real draft. It was pretty cool
