The whole class hasn't really done much to be honest so far in looking at it. Out of the guys we could have drafted, Worthy is having the best preseason and Mitchell caught a TD pass last night but none of the guys including Coleman have done much of anything yet.

One site has the Jets favored to win the AFCE
gonzo1105 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
They to me have the best roster. If they can not be the Jets and Rodgers can play above average ball I can see it. Its still the Jets though. -
One of 4 options. We keep two and Trubisky is 2 and we suck it up for a week and sign a veteran to the PS. Option 2 is we keep Trubisky , make him inactive and call up the PS QB until he is healthy Option 3. We place him on IR eligible to return and sign another QB to the 53 Option 4. We release him with man injury settlement and sign another to the 53. I don’t see us keeping 3 regardless of his injury

Players that we might trade instead of release at cutdown
gonzo1105 replied to mushypeaches's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea I don’t know if there are many that teams would be interested in Clapp if he has any value because I think it’s worth putting Gouriage on the 53 and Jonathan because he might have some Boogie Basham type late round value. I think it’s much more likely we use some of that late round capital to add to a position. Maybe a Cam Lewis or a Mike Edwards but I think that’s a long shot esp with all the injuries -
McDermott: "MVS & Samuel good chance of Week 1 return"
gonzo1105 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I literally said this is another thread. Everyone started freaking out about week to week and I was like uh guys there is literally 3 weeks to the regular season. The vast majority of these guys will be back opening day and if not def by the Thurs night game -
The problem is Braelon Allen isn’t as good despite his imposing figure. He has to be in a gap scheme. Once Wisconsin got away from I formation downhill he got progressively worse. He isn’t a huge thumper for his size He’s not a good pass catcher and he needs to hone his pass blocking skills. Maybe in 4 years Allen will catch up to him in those things but I’ll take Davis over him anyday

I mean something has to give there. I highly doubt either Winston or Huntley want to be a # 3 even if they keep 3 on the roster. One of those two are going either via release or trade
-
I think people can’t fathom the idea of a TE being a # 1 here because the Bills and their fans haven’t exactly seen a rich history here. I agree this season will ride on how much Kincaid and Shakir jump. The RBs, both Cook and Davis I expect to catch a lot of passes as well. I do also believe that the Bills will use one of their top 3 picks next year on another pass catcher as well to go along with what they have now

Just a beat down fan base who thinks we reached our peak and are on the downside now because we lost a bunch of aging guys and now we have a bunch of guys injured. At the end of the day we'll be fine. We still have 19 days before kickoff against the Cardinals and most of these "week to week" guys will be back either for the opener or for the Dolphins game in Week 2.

Brown was with Boston College and was incredibly mobile but wasn’t an accurate passer and then went to Oregon and got better but still wasn’t great. Def a guy to get us through week 3 of preseason
-
This is not meant to be mean but Bills fans always have a damn excuse for why they can't beat the Chiefs. The first year the Bills hadn't been there and were inexperienced. Then the 2nd year they lost to the Chiefs with a dominant performance due to coaching/defense. Then they lose to the Bengals in the playoffs and its because we don't have enough playmakers. Then we lose last year to the Chiefs again because of injuries. Every game we have played against the Chiefs we have had the opportunity to win and found ways to blow it. Even the 37-24 game we were up 14-0 in the game. Everyone knows about 13 seconds. Last years against the Chiefs we dominated the first half, then proceeded to score 7 points in the 2nd half after we ran over them in the first half. Throw in a Bass missed kick that may or may not have mattered. Make more plays when it counts.

Sure didn't because this years team and last years team are different. The Bills salary cap is incredibly tight and need to resign some big guys coming up (Rousseau/Brown). By keeping and developing more cost control without the possibility of losing them is paramount. Plus the difference between their veterans and rookies are negligible. Why would you risk exposing a Ulofoshio or a Spector who is younger and more likely to be picked up on waivers by keeping an aging veteran like Deion Jones. Why keep a Clapp when you can keep a Gouriage who I actually think has outplayed him. The rules state you must keep younger guys, 10, 0-2 years and 6 unlimited years guys. Thats why there are so many young development on PS not because teams choose that route. I don't really think its a huge thing but Deion Jones has been playing in the 4th quarter behind pretty much every healthy LB on the roster and your talking about him rotating with a 2nd year guy they drafted in the 3rd round. Its not going to happen.

I actually disagree here with the roster structure doesn’t mean I’m right necessarily. I think it’s more likely that the Bills keep cost controlled contracts on their 53 man roster( 4 years) and try to keep more veterans on the PS especially with the expansion to 17 spots this year and being able to keep 6 unlimited years players on it. Makes me think guys like Jones make more sense like a Klein as insurance while keeping a young LB or two
-
Chrisman has had multiple chances and a lot of people thought he’d get the Bengals job a couple years ago over Huber but he didn’t. His time to prove himself is running out

If you could get a day 2 pick for Cook would you pull the trigger…
gonzo1105 replied to julian's topic in The Stadium Wall
Running backs drop like flies so my answer would be no as of right now -
Yea I think the LB cuts will be interesting. That was the one spot I was very unsettled on. When I wrote mine up I didn’t know MVS injury status. I put Hamler in for return protection for Hardy and the last spot was really the Morrow spot so if you swapped Spector for Morrow or kept 6 LBs I would completely understand

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 2
gonzo1105 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
None of them are going to be besides the top 3. I have said if you get 50 catches and 700 yards out of any WR drafted at the end of round 1 consider that a win for a rookie -
People need to relax as the Bills are clearly showing very little of what they plan to do in the regular season. Are their concerns most def but let’s see how week 1 goes with Allen actually throwing the football in a non vanilla no game planned way
-
I don’t think a trade is necessary unless they have a guy they really want if they change Trubisky out. None of the guys are great obviously but Zappe in NE Winston/Huntley in Cleveland Mills/ Keenum in Houston Ehlinger in Indy Beatherd in Jax Rush/Lance in Dallas Stidham/Wilson in Denver Drew Lock in NY(tho unlikely) Taylor Heinicke in ATL Some are negligible, some are clear upgrades and some won’t be cut but I have to think some of these guys will be cut loose and if Buffalo wants to let Trubisky go would be happy to be the #2 in Buffalo
