Yup I agree with you, Houston isn't a threat and Pittsburgh is but that final stretch of @ Philly, @Baltimore, KC, Cinci is a tough final stretch. They could go 0-4 but even at best I think 2-2
I think we are still a lock for the # 2 seed. Pittsburgh is tied with us but at best they are going 2-2 with that final stretch. I know everyone wants the one seed and I totally get that but I'd rather be healthy. If it means going to Arrowhead to win the AFC we have done that many times and the crowd and moment wont be too big for them.
We needed that 3rd timeout. We basically had no shot once we called that TO. I frankly would have kicked the FG once we got into range instead of going for the TD. We needed 9 points in some manner. Once we got that Allen long run I would have trotted Bass out there to kick and then booted it deep with my 3 TO's and hope that my defense could have gotten a stop and given Allen 50 seconds and no TO's to drive the field but I understand going for the TD first but the sneak was a killer not getting in.
I am not going to crucify McDermott for the accepting the penalty. McVay was going to go for it whether it was 4th and 7 or 4th and 4 and the play that Atwell caught would have been a first down in either situation. Like I said just shake your head and move on and be glad this isn't the type of game that ends your season.
Sad that we had that kind of performance from the offense and lost the game. We can point to the punt block but this game was solely on the defense and their ability to get off the field today. I just shake my head about this game.
It wasn't 4th and 9 at most it was 6 yards. It was 2nd and 3 and Nacua lost 2-3 yards on the run making it 3rd down. Maybe Stafford lost a yard. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. Atwell caught a 12 yard in cut.
