You don’t believe that the Ravens could lose in Houston next week? The Texans play much better at home. The Ravens are no lock for the 5 and even if they are that doesn’t worry me anyways because I think the Steelers and/or the Texans can beat the Chargers at home which would still send Baltimore to KC

I am 100% rooting for Pittsburgh today. Locks in Pittsburgh pretty much for the North and forces Baltimore into the WC. I know people are still holding out for the 1 but I don’t think it’s happening imo. With the Broncos remaining schedule I don’t think Baltimore lands in the 7 so I’m taking my chances here No the more likely scenario for facing them is if they win the North. If Baltimore ends up as the 6 seed and they beat the Steelers/Texans in the WC they would go to KC because the Bills would have beaten the 7 seed and the Bills would face the 4/5 winner

Im not an Oline expert but wide splits actually allow for offensive lineman to reach in zone run concepts much easier . O Line are taught to reach with their inside should to the breastplate of the next defender to the side zone is being ran. If the case Edwards is going to reach to the LB after getting his hands on the 2I and McGovern will take the 2I defensive tackle and they will take them where they want to go. This is where you hear the word Duo blocking being used by commentators. If outside zone, Dawkins will take his reach and get to the breastplate like Edwards. If it’s inside zone he’s going to walk the DE out. A LB stepping up into the gap really doesn’t change anything besides Edwards staying on Level 1 versus going to level 2. As for passing game this is why there are many protections and def pending on who else is coming they can slide, halfslide, of split protect where Davis takes the blitzing LB through the gap. That’s where Allen and QB play matters I also notice in all 3 of these pictures Dawkins and Edwards are on the weak side of the formation because the DT is in a 2I and then he is in a 1T in the other two and looking at the way the Lions are aligned weakside zone would kill them

I agree he deserves better especially when they signed both Phillips and Jefferson over promoting him after his service here. He was a good soldier but outside of a cup of tea elsewhere he has been on our PS now for years and no one in 31 other teams has decided he was worth poaching to keep on a 53. I think it’s a tad hyperbole to say he was out 3rd best DT but he was serviceable esp as a run defender when called upon
