Waddle injured then returned on the very next play
gonzo1105 replied to hammer2427's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is correct. Dolphins weren't charged a timeout because there was 2:14 or whatever on the clock. Since the last play was a run play, the clock starts on the whistle and proceeds to the 2 minute warning. The 2 minute warning is considered a timeout, so Waddle can return to the field of play after the timeout. -
So I used to know an NFL back judge, this was probably 15 years ago and things could have changed by now but they essentially get a packet of plays that falls into their area of scope of penalties or missed penalties and what they should have done in the given situation and then they are graded. I remember what time he showed me an example of holding but it wasn't called because it was away from the play by a WR. So essentially it was a run play on the opposite side of the field and falls under the rule of holding but since it was so far from the play they told them not to flag it. I found that interesting.

I think Slayton would be a decent add with the Cooper and Coleman uncertainty but I think with the bye week coming they will hold off unless there is a long term issue there.

Because the HC oversees everything. If that’s the case the HC is excused from everything except time management. McDermott should then not be blamed for 13 seconds, the Broncos 12 men game or the decision to throw 3 times in the Texans game

Both calls were garbage and I’m not one to bash refs. His momentum was only going to the ground because Dawkins executed a flawless chop technique on the defender making him fall on his face on his own. Torrence literally had his hands in the breastplate the whole time and the DT never even tried to disengage to make it look like he was being held. Im about as in objective as they come and those two calls were bad

I mean it’s pretty inexcusable to give up a Hail Mary gw with one of your DBs not paying attention at all then turn around and give up a 53 yard TD run with 5 seconds left in the first half in the very next game

Saints fired Dennis Allen …. who’s next?
gonzo1105 replied to Sestak4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean it’s an old beat down defense that has carried them for years that just can’t do it anymore and the offense is led by a very average QB in Derek Carr. It’s a weaker division but they need to clear those contracts and start over. That’s a long rebuild over there -
I think he’s in his last year here. I think next year will be the beginning of a retooling of the TE position. Knox is overpaid but will still be here next year due to his contract but they’ll want a # 3 guy who could supplant Knox is 2026. There are some nice options in next years draft combined with Morris no longer being exclusive rights free agent

Yea I’m also in that camp. I think he wants the Wins record but I also wonder if he enjoys being able to be a respected analyst on tv where he can cut loose a little bit and still have some down time while being around football -

The problem is who is taking Belichick when he has a couple of years left. I would want to know what the succession plan is after he hangs it up. He's such a niche coach right now that needs a team that is ready to win right away and is desperate. The only one that makes sense to me is Dallas -
I actually think that the one thing Jerry does is he sticks with coaches too long. I mean I know there are only 32 jobs in the NFL but the jobs that are going to be open aren't very attractive. Giants, Jets, and Saints with their aging salary cap strapped roster aren't attractive at all.

Should Bills Mafia invite Jason Kelce to the week 11 game
gonzo1105 replied to USCGBILLSFAN's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean dude is coming to the game whether we invite him or not. -
I wont read through this whole thread but I have to assume the flow of emotions from the signing to his good game vs bad games is impeccable. Same with the Bass thread etc etc.

Jalen Virgil has been getting as much rung as Samuel which tells me he’s hurt

SNF: Colt @ Vikes (Keep it a Bills-free thread please)
gonzo1105 replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Vikings are regressing back to the team we all thought they would be at the start of the season with a top 10 pick. They are literally owning this game and are losing because of bad kicking and QB play. -

The Colts weakness on Defense is definitely their secondary but their a pretty solid all around team which is probably why they went with Flacco to try to win the division which I think is attainable with Stroud and that offense struggling down two pass catchers. -
There are some guys the problem is the cap situation makes it really restrictive to do. For the guys who could be available to the Bills that we might be able to get under the cap with: Godchaux (NE) Don't think he'd be traded to Buffalo though Shelby Harris(CLE)has a base of 1.2 so he has around 600K left. Older though as he's 33 Davon Hamilton (Jax) though I think this one is unlikely Arik Armstead(Jax) would help the run game but not the 1T position Sebastian Joseph Day (Ten) visited the Bills in the summer. Makes sense if going off of that. John Jenkins (Oak) Will be cheap but he is old as dirt at 35. Linval Joseph (DAL) Already was here, not sure we go down that route again but has familiarity Shy Tuttle (CAR) Not really a 1T Khalen Saunders( NO) Eh maybe, makes sense as a 1T but is a cheaper guy for a cash strapped team. I mean some of these guys are a stretch but there just isn't a ton out there for guys who are available and guys who can fit under the cap. Might be a boost if Zion Logue can become a capable 1T by the end of the year for the Bills.

The only thing I can think of is that the toe is just sapping his athletic ability. Samuel does have a lengthy history of injuries nagging him so this wouldn't be surprising. Good news is we are coming up on the bye week soon to let these guys nicks and injuries heal.

Johnson was terrible adjusting to that ball but Dean was over the top of him. Lawrence shouldn't have thrown it or driven it back shoulder.
-
I actually think Jarran Reed would be a good fit as a deadline addition. I know he's in the last year of his deal but I don't know how much he has left on the deal nor if the Seahawks would even be willing to move him.
-
He's fine imo. I think his mechanics failed him a couple of times today which is why you saw the ball short and low a couple of times. Dolphins played a lot of soft zone and had Allen pumping a couple of times and that can mess you up.

Maybe the Packers should get under center in a monsoon with a backup Center.

The decision to go for the FG - right or wrong?
gonzo1105 replied to Matt_In_NH's topic in The Stadium Wall
Its much like the Texans game. If it works, McDermott looks smart. If he misses the kick, the Dolphins get the ball on the Bills 49 and who knows what can happen after that. -
I'm really interested in the Sunday Night game. Colts with Flacco against a Vikings team that has been struggling but is at home and plays good defense. I think that will be a good matchup.

11/3/24 Game 9 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Dolphins Post Game Thread
gonzo1105 replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree they could use another DT but I don't think Logue would be the guy they would let go if they added a guy.
