Watched last night. Obviously enjoyed the watch because it’s the Bills and seeing how they interact but it wasn’t anything out of the box that provided unexpected insight. Usually the training camp Hard Knocks is the weakest. Love me some offseason Hard Knockd though. I think Beane would be awesome in that setting but the Bills like to keep things in house and close to the vest

I think there is a good chance he gets picked up on waivers if he’s not seriously injured. Still young , on a cheap contract and has played meaningful snaps on Defense and especially STs. A bad football team would likely take a shot

The season is over a month away. They are just being cautious with everyone for every nick they get. If this were week 2 of the preseason, and they is still two weeks out from the season opener, I might have a different take but we’re not there yet

The Bills are in a prime position as it pertains to Cook. First Running backs have a short shelf life as we all know. Cook still on his rookie deal can’t afford to take fine at all whether that’s not reporting for camp or missing games etc. Sure he could fake an injury to protect himself but that won’t help him get top end RB money from the Bills or anyone else with a guy with one really good season. He needs to play and ball out to get the money he desires which will help the Bills make hopefully another deep run. The Bills also have the luxury after this year of franchising him and keeping Cook(very unhappily im sure) and making him play again on a 1 year deal, trading him , or buying time to get a long term deal done. Running back is also one of the cheapest tags amongst position groups. Cook is going to play this year and he’ll play his hardest to get what he desires. He’s sitting out practices , while reported , to avoid being fined and to show his unhappiness with the little leverage he has this year. Beane, McDermott, and Cook deep down knows

My top 2 was LB and RB. Not saying that’s the direction I’d go in but they need to move on from Milano and if they’re not sold on Williams being the long term replacement that’s a very strong possibility. In addition if Cook is gone, Davis is capable imo but Beane loves drafting RBs and usually the best ones slip to end of round 1

I don’t get worried about injuries this early. Teams are super cautious with guys and any little nick pretty much ends their day. It’s a long list for sure but wake me up in week 3 of preseason if a guy is still on the shelf

Yup they have had a lot of talent and they have absolutely done squat with all of it. Maybe that will change this year for them.

While I think your overreacting, I put him on the list because of his solid longevity. He’s been a Bill for 8 years. He most likely at minimum will be here for 10 years and has been a pro bowler 4 of those years(not that it means much nowadays) He’s probably honestly last on that list and will he probably seem like Kent Hull was when his career is over. I actually like McGee being mentioned again due to his longevity in the uniform. He’d probably be in the same tier as Dawkins in my opinion but I wouldn’t crush you or anyone else for mentioning him

Thurman Thomas I think these 7 have to be in everyone’s top 15 After that Joe D, Tasker, Kyle Williams, Eric Moulds, Cornelius Bennett, Fred Jackson, Daryl Talley, Billy Shaw, Reuben Brown, Cookie Gilchrist, Elbert Dubenion, Dion Dawkins, Kent Hull all have to be in consideration.

I’d take the SB for that amount. Raise the stakes and I might change my mind

Dude gets injured every year. Guy was a good LB back in the day and every time he gets hurt I’m like why is this guy still playing just retire. Maybe as a backup , you’ll get him through the season and he’d be a good spot starter. If he’s LB # 4 then cool it gets one of of the bottom 3 off the roster

The answer is No. Dudes name crops up every single year or two and the Bills always pass . Disappointment on another team and rinse and repeat

I think this room is more straightforward than people think. You don’t invest the kind of capital the Bills put into DB just to keep the same guys. CBs: Benford, Hairston, Johnson, White, Strong S: Rapp, Bishop, Hancock These guys to me are locks pending injury. I think with the adds Dane Jackson is toast because he doesn’t provide STs. I think Ingram or Lewis is out depending on who is better at teams. The questions I have is who gets the last spot at Safety with Forrest /Hamlin. Will they keep Codrington or keep Shenault. Is either Lewis or Ingram valuable enough to keep on the 53 for Special teams only

Biggest battles are Lundt vs RVD, Shenault vs Codrington, Hamlin vs Forrest vs Ingram. I think this one really comes down to where they see Hancock initially. If they list him as a Nickle then Ingram is probably gone and they keep both Forrest and Hamlin. If Hancock is a safety, Ingram stays and Forrest / Hamlin are battling . I have both Shavers and Shenault making it but both would be at risk when Ogunjobi/Hoecht returns

Visits don’t just get set up last second. Flights have to be booked unless the Pegula jet got him. I’m sure after the draft, Beane called to set up the visit on Saturday but he’s not going to let the cat out of the bag in a 8:30 radio segment on who’s visiting especially to two guys who took him to task

Well it’s more than just that I get your what you’re saying though. They’re not going to not play Coleman as he’s a high draft pick and Samuel is going to be on the roster because his contract will dictate that. They paid Palmer solid # 3 money so Shavers opportunity is Moore and maybeeee Samuel

The Bills play positionless at WR. When are people going to realize this. Guys aren’t Xs and Zs and Fs. They move guys around based on the packages they want to play.

Well the guy this hurts the most is Shavers. Guy went from # 5 WR and STs ace to hoping that the Bills decide to keep 6 WRs for his ST ability

I think the general idea is he can save the Bills roster spots down the road. He can be TE3, FB(Gilliam), Andersons jumbo package role, and Special teams. If he can do all that and be cheap, that’s good cost effectiveness down the line

I think the Falcons organization should be docked a pick as well next year. Maybe a 6th rounder

The one thing I have noticed from Beane over the years is he is very determined to have a pick in every round. I knew somehow we’d end up with one. That trade clearly indicates how badly the Bills wanted TJ Sanders but they didn’t want him badly enough at the expense of both 2nd rounders without getting back that 3rd and 7th. I do believe that Beane was telling the truth about Jackson being the 62nd pick if they still had it but I am curious who they would have taken at 72 if he was off the board
