Gonzo Mock Draft Version 2.0 After Combine( Starts on Page 5)
gonzo1105 replied to gonzo1105's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree that the Browns should go Quarterback and if Ward is there I think they will go that route. I think there is a bigger gap between Ward and Sanders than Sanders and Dart in my opinion so if Ward is on the board, which is a possibility than I think the Browns will go that route. If Ward goes to the Titans, I think the Browns could go Sanders but wouldn't surprise me in the least that they take Hunter/Carter. With that said, I think the Titans are posturing right now. By saying hey hey we might not take a QB, they are baiting teams right now to try to trade up with them because there isn't a single elite graded prospect in this draft in my opinion. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see all this posturing then see Ward go off the board first. -
Too early to tell and the Bills do have a history of “redshirting guys” for a year before you see the returns on them. I see a draft filled with guys who will have lengthy but maybe not big difference makers type draft. With that said, that has been the problem with the Bills. Guys who contribute but aren’t impactful when it matters most. I want to see Bishop after a full offseason under his belt. I think Carter was coming on a bit before his injury. Grable and Davis were solid. Solomon showed flashes and Coleman still is young but Worthy and McConkey doing what they did certainly didn’t help put ease into Bills fans.

Gonzo Mock Draft Version 2.0 After Combine( Starts on Page 5)
gonzo1105 replied to gonzo1105's topic in The Stadium Wall
I watch a ton of college ball to start . My wife hates me during football season. I’ll DVR and watch others I don’t watch live. When I have access to All-22 on the internet I’ll utilize it. I do watch highlight films for the sole purpose of traits. I used to scout in the college game and traits to me are highly important in comparison to College production. I do not and I know a lot of people do this but I do not seek the opinion of others during the process. I rely on me and me alone. You won’t see me on draft websites to verify or differentiate from what I see. Makes it confusing to me. I will do it to see where they are projected to see if I agree or disagree For example I have Dillion Gabriel at 11 in Quarterbacks. I’m probably the only person who wouldn’t have him in the top 10 but he’s restricted to one system because he has a noodle arm( I don’t believe the 74 MPH gun radar throw) . He will struggle imo unless he has elite weapons around him. Opposite that, I have Tyler Shough at # 4. Im probably one of a few to have that. I see a lesser armed Matthew Stafford in his game. His play style really mimics Stafford. He didn’t have any weapons around him but has above average traits to be a starter in the NFL imo if he finds himself in the right system. Yes I look for different things at different positions. For example at Defensive End I look for pass rush moves being developed. I long talked about Mike Green when he was being talked about as a 2nd rounder and stated he was a top 20 pick because he has advanced pass rush moves. I think the same way about Ezeiruaku out of BC but he’s not as high because he doesn’t have the elite athleticism that Green has. I do look at player comps if that’s what you’re asking. Some comparisons on the QBs are Shough- Stafford, Milroe- Travaris Jackson, Ewers- Colt McCoy. I assign a grade for every player based on a 7.5 grade scale. 7.5 and up is an elite player, 7.0 to 7.5 is a first round pick, 6.5 to 7.0 2nd Round, 6.0-6.5 3rd etc etc . Hope that helps. Any questions please feel free to ask -

Gonzo Mock Draft Version 2.0 After Combine( Starts on Page 5)

Going to start my top 10 positional rankings and figured I would tuck it away in here. Will change some positioning after the combine and will produce at top 100 at some point as well. Figured I'd really put myself out there in a very unpredictable year. I also will include my ranking of players and where I have them graded. Starting with the Quarterbacks, I do not feel this is a very good year at all but hey who knows with Quarterbacks. Quarterbacks: 1. Cam Ward QB Miami- 2. Shedeur Sanders QB Colorado 3. Jaxson Dart QB Ole Miss 4. Tyler Shough QB Louisville 5. Kyle McCord QB Syracuse 6. Jalen Milroe QB Alabama 7. Kurtis Rourke QB Indiana 8. Quinn Ewers QB Indiana 9. Will Howard QB Ohio State 10. Seth Henigan QB Memphis -
Way too early without the combine byt I don’t think Kenneth Grant is realistic. Guys that big who can move like he does don’t last until 30 unless he has injury or character concerns. I think realistically I’d prefer Shavon Revel or AZ Thomas as CBs and maybe Derrick Harmon or Alfred Collins as DTs Defensive Ends: Donovan Ezeiruaku. Hard for the DEs because they’re kind of all over the place. I think CB your going to get better value at 30 if Harmon is gone
-
I like Dolac. Think he could go late in the draft still but sometimes having great college production doesn’t translate to NFL success. Id draft him in the 7th depending on how he runs but combine or no combine he will get his shot to prove himself regardless

My “best” 2024 Mock Draft versus the Bills..
gonzo1105 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
My 2024 was: 1st Round: Ladd McConkey 2nd Round: Cole Bishop 2023: 1st Round: Dalton Kincaid 2nd Round: Trenton Simpson I used to do a 7 rounder in another site with other live GM with trades didn’t do it this year or last. 2023: 2nd Round: Dawand Jones OT 2nd Round: Tucker Kraft TE 3rd Round: Tyler Scott WR 3rd Round: Jartavius Martin S 4th Round: Chase Brown RB 5th Round: Nick Saldiveri OT 5th Round: KJ Henry DE 6th Round: Brodric Martin DT 7th Round: Kaevon Merriweather S Analysis: Jones was pretty solid as a rookie making all rookie team but it’s still tbd with him. Kraft is a pro bowl TE ill. Scott is a bust. Martin is turning into a sold safety for the Commanders after a slow year 1. Brown is a stud. Saldiveri is a backup in NO. Henry has bounced around the league. Martin has been bad. Merriweather has started some games for TB and been a solid depth player Overall looking like 4 starters in Jones, Kraft, Martin and Brown. Saldiveri might get a shot next year to start and Merriweather was good value late in round 7. Brodric Martin, , Scott, and Henry look like guys who might not make it. 2022: I was the Colts GM as there is another Bills fan I fight with for them on the site. As Colts GM they also had no first rounder that year: 2nd Round: Alec Pierce WR 3rd Round: Nicholas Petite Frere OT 3rd Round: Martin Emerson CB 3rd Round: Jeremy Ruckert TE 5th Round: Danny Gray WR 6th Round: Malcolm Rodriguez LB 6th Round: Esezi Otomewo DE 7th Round: Dellsrisn Turner Yell S 7th Round: James Mitchell TE 7th Round : Ja’Tyre Carter OG Analysis: Pierce is steadily improving as a big play WR but still not worthy of 2nd Round. Frere starts but sucks. Emerson was really solid until he fell off a cliff this year. Ruckert at this stage is a bust. Gray is a bust . Rodriguez was a good pick in round 6. Otomewo is barely hanging on in the league. Yell is a good value in 7. Mitchell and Carter are barely hanging on as well. This draft sucked outside of Emerson and Pierce. I have more years if anyone is curious to see as it’s all archived. -
Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?
gonzo1105 replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Paulson Adebo is my # 1 guy in FA for the Bills. Can we afford him I’m not sure but he’s the guy I want # 1 Nick Westbrook Ikhine might be a nice field stretching WR with us who shouldn’t break the bank. Malcolm Koonce is a good wild card Defensive End to take a chance on. Upside is definitely there to be a good player. Jason Pinnock is a solid safety much in the same realm of Hyde when we signed him. -
NFL Analyst Says 31 of Top 100 are Defensive Lineman

Too many QB needy teams and he is the clear # 3 guy. Teams like the Steelers, Raiders, Browns, Rams, Jets, Seattle are all gonna need QBs now or in the near future -

Do not be surprised when Jaxson Dart goes somewhere in round 1 -
When I think of bust there has to be expectation for the player. Peterman should have never played but the Bills drafted him in round 5. Mike Williams and Aaron Maybin are probably my top 2 with Elam, McCargo, Terell Troup, Erik Flowers, Lonnie Johnson, Tony Hunter in the next tier.

I’ve been saying their taking 3 DL this draft -
I think smart business would be to keep him on the 5 million, franchise tag him next year and see what his market is on the tag, if you reach a deal that’s great. If not get some value for him. If no one has trade interest at that salary, play him on the tag , let him go and take the comp pick. Use a draft pick on a RB this year and re-sign Johnson and keep 4 on the roster this year. Cook re-signs the Rookir replaces Ty Johnson, if he doesn’t you have your replacement for Cook. I think Lequint Allen from Syracuse would be a great mid round pick

2026 is the next year for the purging of contracts. It looked like Beane set it up for 2024 and 2026 as the years to get out of some contracts that maybe aren't living up to what they hoped.

Steelers approach Jags about a Trevor Lawrence Trade
gonzo1105 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea I went on OTC and clicked the trade option and I thought it was a mistake tbh. I couldn’t believe it. The Jags went all in on Lawrence -

I understand what your saying but if they trade him they are taking on a 100 million dollar dead cap this year, 80+ million next year and 60 + mill the year after that. -

gonzo1105 replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get it from the Steelers perspective. I don't get it from the Jaguars perspective since they just hired Liam Coen who has been an offensive minded coach and Quarterback's coach pretty much his whole career. You would think they brought Coen in to get the best out of Lawrence. He's have to love Sanders or Ward and there is no guarantee either of them fall to 5 anyways so then they have to trade up which makes zero sense. -
Bengals LB Germaine Pratt Requests Trade
gonzo1105 replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not a fit in Buffalo -
I could see them moving down from 62 into the 3rd just for aesthetics, gain another 5th then move around the board on the 4th and 5th to get players they covet but like I said last year, I believe the Bills will use at least 9 picks in this draft to continue infusing this team with youth
-
I think it’s an interesting scenario to keep an eye on. I think it’s funny because I think both team and player need each other. I think the Bills need his speed and pass catching ability with their offensive system and I don’t think that Cook is effective in every offensive system in the NFL. I mean I’d pay the guy 11-12 on a 3-4 year deal gladly but 15 is too much. With that said he has 1 year left in his deal, and then the Bills could exercise the franchise tag in 2026 when they can get out of a lot of their contracts with minimal dead cap. If you have any doubt about Cook beyond the next year or two(if franchised) then take another back to pair with Ray Davis in the future in the mid rounds this year and carry 4 backs. It’s a deep draft and the Bills have 10 picks and a RB might make sense in round 4 or 5
-
Yup but Rousseau , Epenesa, and Jones are in the final year of their deal. They kept 10 on the roster at DLine usually. They keep those 5 then drafting 3 guys and signing two isn’t out of the possibility to get your 10. If they trade for a proven guy that obviously changes but 3 DL and 3 DBs I could see especially if they plan on getting bigger up front and playing more man on the back end
-
I think that’s the idea. I see 6 of the 10 picks being Dline, Secondary even with a vet add or two
-
Joe B and I are pretty similar in our picks. Had the same first rounder. I had 56 as Tre Harris but could see Royals being the pick there and even commented that to another poster and to be honest if I did it all over again I’d probably give the Bills CB Cobee Bryant out of Kansas which is a slight reach but not by much imo
