Terrance Gray a candidate for Jets GM job?
gonzo1105 replied to vtnatefootball11's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can't remember the thread, maybe the Joe Brady thread, that Terrance Gray was the most likely guy to leave the organization this year as he has been in a high level position here and its about his time to take on being the GM of his own team. I don't think I specifically mentioned the Jets but I think that would be a bad move for him but I also understand that not many of those opportunities come along very often. Its funny because they lost Gaine to Houston and he got fired and came back to essentially replace Schoen and its very possible that Gray gets a GM job and Schoen could get fired and return to take Gray's role. Plus Gray would come with the addition of 2 3rd round picks from the league. -

Without looking, I feel I might be the guy who said 6th rounder and possible Edmunds replacement -

I hated the Bernard pick. I was completely wrong and have zero problem admitting it -
Woody Johnson suggested benching Rodgers in September

I mean someone will take the job but I have no clue who that would be its not gonna be one of the hot coordinators I'll bet on that. -
My guess is one of these home games will be an international game and our opener will be at home on Thursday 😉

It’s not marginal, Aubrey is arguably the top kicker in the game. He has a strong and incredibly accurate leg. Kickers have huge impacts on games good or bad. McPherson makes a kick they win. Tucker doesn’t miss twice they win i also said if all things Bass were out of the way like he was a Free Agent or had no dead cap so I’m not advocating for us trading for Aubrey and releasing Bass just saying if everything was aligned right in the world
-
If all things were settled with Bass I’d honestly give up a 3rd but I think the Cowboys would tell the Bills to take a hike

Savage used to run the Senior Bowl so I wonder if they are picking his brain on prospects since boards aren’t set yet. Rodgers will either retire, be released, or be a short term stop gap. If option 3 is presented I suspect Rodgers walks away. Adams was the last gasp for Douglas and it’s still not happening. One thing that isn’t talked about is our front office. I’d expect Terrance Gray to get some more interviews and possibly land an NFL GM gig here this off-season

Head Coaching Vacancies - 2024/2025 Edition
gonzo1105 replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Brady will get an interview or two but I would be highly surprised if he was actually offered a job this soon. He failed miserably in Carolina(who doesn't) and there might be some stench on that plus there are some better offensive minds out there as well as a few retreads and defensive guys. I think Brady is a year away but who knows. -
Head Coaching Vacancies - 2024/2025 Edition

I think I have Jets, Saints, Cowboys, Jaguars, Bears, Giants, Bengals I think Antonio Pierce and Dave Canales get another year to prove themselves. Panthers are playing better the last couple and Pierce will get the chance to work with a rookie before he gets let go. Can't see Indianapolis making a move. I would fire Daboll and Schoen but they might get another year but if it were me that job would be open. I honestly think that Cincinnati makes a move off of Zac Taylor. They missed last year, Burrow is putting up MVP numbers yet they are 4-7 and I dont think Taylor is the right guy to get them over the top. Browns maybe only because its the Brown but I would give Stefanski more time and even though Sirianni is an asshat he redeemed himself after last year. All in all I have 7 openings with the possibility of 8 if the Browns let Stefanski go. -
Jaguars yes I agree for sure. The Browns are playing Winston and he generally is bad but occasionally Winston goes for 300 and 3 TD's. I think the Browns will win some games still.
-
It might be the Cowboys and Giants battling for the first pick. The Cowboys aren't gonna win another game the way they look unless they play defense and Aubrey kicks 8 FG's
-
Everytime Trey Lance has been in a game he has been an inaccurate turnover machine. I get the idea of Lance but I understand why they have stuck to Rush especially from McCarthy's perspective when hes fighting for his job.
-
I know he just got there but the Cowboys gave up a pretty good resource in a 4th round pick for Mingo and we all know he stinks but 0 catches for 0 yards
-
Uh sir punt the ball out of bounds

Aubrey is very good like might be the best in the NFL right now. Sometimes it happens though.

I try to look beyond the next season and what needs we might have in Free Agency and the draft QB- Obviously Allen is locked in and knowing the Bills history I expect them to keep a veteran on the roster whether Trubisky or another guy. I'd like to see them add a young developmental guy but I'm not sure this is the draft to do it as its a pretty weak QB draft in my early analysis. Free Agency- Veteran Backup Draft: None RB- They have Cook locked in until 2026 and Ray Davis will be on year 2 of the his rookie contract. Ty Johnson is a free Agent but the Bills seems to like him quite a bit. I would think they wouldn't add a guy in the draft but Beane and their front office has an affinity for drafting Running Backs so never say never. Free Agency- Re-sign Ty Johnson Draft- Late Round/UDFA WR- Next year's roster has Coleman, Shakir, Samuel under contract. Hollins and Cooper are free agents. Wont even bother getting into the Hamlers/Shavers of the world. Think that Cooper is going to walk to be honest and I think they try to bring back Hollins on a reasonable contract. Think they take a look at the cheaper end of the free agent market and add a guy fairly high in the draft. Probably with one of their first 3 picks to add another boundary guy. Free Agency- Re-sign Hollins Draft- First two Rounds TE- We will have Kincaid back and we will have Knox back to his contract being structured the way it is. Morris is a Restricted Free Agent and I don't believe they will tender him due to him being an UDFA and the fact he's not worth 3 million. The Bills could work a new contract out with him for less but I think he walks for a more prominent opportunity. Need a guy who can block and think they will draft one in the mid to late rounds. I do not think Davidson is a long term option despite some people really liking him on this board. Draft: Mid to Late Round Prospect OL- Not going to spend a lot of time here. The Bills have their entire starting 5 under contract with only David Edwards being on the last year of his deal. The Bills will have Grable/VandeMark back as well as Gouriage/Van Pran, and Anderson. Don't expect a Free Agent add here and if they do add a guy in the draft it will be late most likely at the Guard position Draft: Late Round Prospect/UDFA DE- Separating out the Dline positions here because these are going to need some work. At DE we have everyone except for Smoot under contract for next year but Rousseau/Epenesa are Free Agents in 2026 and Von Miller is obviously old and can be a cap casualty in 2026 as well. We have Solomon as the Von Miller replacement but Rousseau and Epenesa are going to need extensions or replacements Free Agency: Re-Sign Smoot/Toohill or add Mid Level Free Agent Draft: Early to Mid round DT- The Bills have Oliver, Jones, and Carter under contract for next year and have a multitude of Free Agents at the position including Austin Johnson. Jones is also a free agent in 2026 and is on his last legs. Carter looks to be a player and Oliver isn't going anywhere so we are looking at at least two new adds to this position. Free Agency: Multiple Mid Level Free Agents for Depth Draft: Early to Mid Round prospect LB- Bills have Milano, Bernard, and Williams under contract as well as youngsters Ulofoshio and Andreessen. Morrow is a free agent but that isn't really a loss at all. I would expect them to add a low level Free Agent for depth and competition and they will most likely draft a guy late in the draft just because LB's are valuable ST's guys. Free Agency: Low Level Free Agent Draft: Late Round Prospect CB- Bills have Benford, Elam, Johnson under contract and also have depth guys like Lewis and Ingram who will be back. Douglas is a free agent and I expect him to get a contract that the Bills do not want to pay. I think the Bills will add a mid level guy who can start in a pinch and also draft a guy or two since Elam will almost assuredly not going to get the 5th year option and Benford is a Free Agent in 2026. Free Agency: Mid Level player who can start or be depth Draft: Two prospects(One early and One in the mid/late rounds) Safety- Bills have Rapp, Bishop under contract and Hamlin as a Free Agent. The Bills have Lewis as a possible Safety option on the roster next year as well but I expect the Bills to add to this position more for depth. I think Hamlin leaves for more money than the Bills want to pay. Free Agency- Mid Level guy who can start/depth Draft: Mid Round Prospect Special Teams- Bass and Martin are both under contract for next year and I expect them to be the kicker and punter. Can't see the Bills use a resource on either of these positions in the draft. Ferguson is a Free Agent and I'll be interested to see if the Bills bring him back. I'd say its likely but his snaps have been worse this year particularly on Field Goals. Draft: Late Round/UDFA comp for Bass and Ferguson. I'd expect a really heavy defensive draft next year something like this:(Pure guessing obviously) 1st Round- DE 2nd Round- CB 2nd Round- WR/DT 4th Round- WR/DT 4th Round- Safety 4th Round- CB 5th Round- DT 6th Round- TE 6th Round- OL 6th Round- QB/RB/Safety

I said this a couple of times already. He had much more success on Edwards and I expect him to be lined up on Edwards a lot more if we see them again.

The Cowboys are another team with a collection of name guys that play for themselves and not as a team. So many teams like this. Why culture matters so much.

Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy
gonzo1105 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
All things considered I think the Bills are going with the Green Bay model when it comes to pass catchers. No real true # 1 WR but a slew of guys you can put on the field and catch the football. I don't think the Bills work is done when it comes to the WR position. I fully expect them to add another young guy fairly early in the draft next year to go with Coleman's selection this year. I don't expect Cooper to be resigned but I could be wrong on that for sure. The positive of the trade if the don't resign him is yea you gave up a 3rd but everyone has to remember that we got a 5th rounder back and if he does leave, we will most likely get a 4th or 5th rounder in return for him in 2026 in the form of a compensatory pick. Thats why the trade makes a lot of sense to do both in the short term and long term structure of the football team.
