NFL Awards Compensatory Picks - Pats Get Highest One
gonzo1105 replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This isn’t true. There are 32 compensatory picks awarded every year regardless of qualifying Free Agents or not. You have to meet a certain salary threshold. There were more than 32 qualifying FAs this year. In an instance when their aren’t 32 qualifying Free Agents, teams with even net loss and net gain are rewarded a 7th rounder for bigger loss. Not enough still? 7th rounders are awarded from worst record to best until 32 picks are met -
I could see Allen being the type to take 30-35 a year to keep a good team around him

The Athletic: How TE targets can fit with the Bills
gonzo1105 replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m all for Brate if he’s released. I always thought he was super underrated in league circles. Basically a better version of Tyler Kroft. Wouldn’t have to break the bank either for him -
Honestly, I don’t think their money is going to either one of them. Milano is gone I think we can al read those tea leaves. Williams reminds me of Jordan Phillips. Sign him for basically nothing, he flourishes for a season, goes and gets a big contract and goes back to being average. I think your going to see more of an overhaul to this roster than you think particularly on the offensive and defensive lines. You can do these types of things once you know you have a great QB.

Well he ain’t getting to the SB going through Seattle, LA, and a healthy SF. Maybe the wild card playoffs

you would if it’s more than the 17.5 mill you were gonna get . Let’s say if you get a 3 year deal at “36 “ million. AAV of 12 a year. Okay year 1 is 4 million base pay with upfront signing bonus of 16 million. That’s 20 mill that dude banks guaranteed. Then spread that other 16 million over the next two. It’s pretty fair for all above.

sure there is. Give Watt a 3 year deal, small base salary. Upfront signing bonus in year 1 . Bam low salary cap number , big signing bonus, easily cuttable year 2 and 3. Minimal impact on this years salary cap

Joe B article speculates John Brown will be cut
gonzo1105 replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
John Brown won’t be on the team next year. They drafted his replacement in Davis. They have Hodgins they drafted. They can draft another one, sign Stills for much cheaper. It makes no sense to keep a 9 million spot. He’s older, he’s been injured, carries a huge cap number with low dead money. -
Yes I’m a big FSU fan, their whole Dline is incredibly overrated. Robinson has no bend or any pass rush moves. Big dude who looks good getting off the bus but very rarely made any impact plays. Kaindoh and Wilson are the same way. Big time HS recruits who didn’t live up to their rankings. He would make a good rotational edge setting DE that’s about it Actually look at his highlights literally there is one where he bends the edge and sacks the QB. The rest are Blocked FGs vs GT(Terrible), run stops in games they are getting blown out in, or highlights from literally the same two games( Louisville and NC state). There’s a reason why there isn’t a huge diversity in his highlights cause he doesn’t have that many.

Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane

I think your going to see a lot of guys take 1 year deals or standard deals with higher guaranteed money that are backloaded

Trade up or trade back in this year’s draft?
gonzo1105 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once you pay your QB, which the Bills are likely to do, you need more draft picks for cheap young depth. Can't give up picks when your paying a QB 30-40 million. -
marvin Wilson is terrible, from an FSU fan who also tried to tell everyone EJ Manuel was bad too

Source: LB Matt Milano looking for “top dollar” in FA
gonzo1105 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think were gonna see both Milano and Daryl Williams go. They are going to get big money elsewhere. It seems to mean Beane will be digging into bargains/cut players this year. This is the beginning of the replacing Free Agents with "Draft well" guys. -
Beane says no "blockbuster" moves. Do you believe him?
gonzo1105 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually think this is the first year you see a lot of guys go and let the draft picks start rolling in on the comp picks. Much like I said last year when people were harkening to keep Phillips and Lawson, I said to let them go. Those are the guys who never live up to big contracts. I think the same can be said for a guy like Daryl Williams. Bills took a chance on him for cheap, brought his value back to life, now he’ll be overpaid and the Bills should reap that draft pick reward. I also don’t see Milano back. I’m on the fence with Feliciano. He’s another guy loved by Bills fans but had been very average his whole career. Could get overpaid as well. -
i don’t really see Morse, Brown I can def see. They are set obviously with Beasley and Diggs. I think the emergence of Gabe Davis , the signing of Kenny Stills, and still having the possibility of McKenzie and Hodgins in the wings could spell the end for Brown
-
I mean I don’t disagree I guess the problem I see is Ford has shown very little as a starting OL in this league and I don’t think you can cut Morse until your sure on Ford
