  1. Coaching and Scheme play a part for sure but players make or break coaches not the other way around. You talk about how great Teddy M was and he was good at his job but he had 4 Hall of Famers on that offense in Kelly, Thomas, Reed, and a late career Lofton. He also had very good role players and solid starters as well including Kent Hull. The Bills offense was LOADED in that era. The Bills haven't had a Quarterback or a well built offense. You can blame that on the General Managers for sure that have been here since that era but I FIND IT VERY HARD TO BELIEVE that not 1 HC or 1 OC has been worth their salt in the last 28 years and dont know how to Coach or Scheme. Its simply put, we haven't had enough good players here particularly at the most important position in football in the last 28 years. Perfect example is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fantastic Defense, probably the most talented Defense currently in the game. They sit at 3-5 because they have Blake Bortles back there. You get the Jags a QB and they are going to the Super Bowl.
  2. I know the Bills lost to the Chiefs in Arrowhead in maybe 2003 and I think the score was very similar. I was at the game and the Bills definitely scored 5 points
  3. There was a point yesterday when the Bills were up 13-10 bleeding the clock down and I was thinking holy crap Sean McDermott deserves Coach of the Year if he has this roster at 3-3. Guys this is the worst roster in the NFL besides maybe Oakland, Arizona, and Indy and 2 of those teams have way better offenses and QBs. This team is in play for the 1st pick, and it was designed to bottom out to rebuild this group with young talent(10 picks) and supplement them with FAs(80 mill). They expect to see a big leap in 2019, it will all depend on Allen like every team when it comes to the QB position
  4. I laughed cause the video was a typical assistant coach. The clip shows Daboll standing in the back going through the script and then you see Allen throw and Ray Ray trying to catch it behind his back. Then you get the McDermott tirade to the WRs and all of a sudden you see Daboll on the move looking like he’s coaching up the WRs while the HC is looking
  5. The thing that I liked the most about Allen’s 2nd start compared to his first was his willingness to take the check down pass. I noticed on a couple of occasions against the Chargers he had the back in the middle of the field for 5 yards but took more chances throwing into tight places. This is past week he went through his progressions saw nothing and dumped it down
  6. All Bell has to do is sign his franchise tender and report by Week 8 and he gets thst gusranteed money. He’ll report then and that’s why he’s okay losing game checks right now
  7. I like it for the simple fact he can be another trade chip down the line even if he can be rehabilitated into a good backup. You saw in the preseason multiple backup QBs go for mid round picks. It’s good asset management especially with the QB position. Do i I think he’ll ever be a starter? I doubt it but he isn’t being brought into do that. A couple QBs go down and all of a sudden with the lack of talent at QB we might get some calls
  8. The moment he was drafted I knew we were in trouble. As a Florida State fan, the 2012 FSU team that finished 10-3 was just as talented as the 2013 team that won the title. The difference was James Winston was the QB. Manuel singlehandly was the reason the 2012 team didn’t play in the title game. I said it at the time and was met by the 65% completion percentage, pro style, big talented arm crowd. This after watching 3 seasons of every game of the guy
  9. Based on the reports, if accurate they for sure want WR Cam Phillips, OC Adam Redmond and SAF Dean Marlowe on the practice squad. I think you’ll see a QB for sure on the practice squad. So that’s 4 spots if everything falls their way.
  10. My guess is the Bills offered a 2nd round pick this year and a 1st in 2020 maybe with another player or mid round draft pick thrown in
  11. Yea, hasn’t Thurman said some crazy **** on twitter before? I’m gonns need a little more than McBeane subtle tweets before I go jumping to anything. It sounds ridiculous that people will jump on anything and believe were getting Mack or Donald etc. would obviously love for it to happen since he wants to be in Buffalo and is obviously a premiere football player
  12. Jon Ryan is signing one day after being released. He’s not a camp leg, dude is going to be the starting punter opening day. Schmidt might as well start looking at the other 31 teams.
  13. Was at training camp today. The defense completely owned the offense in all phases. I-line was getting bullied in the run and pass game. The QBs, all 3 of them weren’t very good at all. The Peterman pick by Marlowe, Peterman was late throwing it on a deep out route and Marlowe made a great play on the ball. The Allen pick was all on Proehl. Allen delivered a missile on a post route and Proehl didn’t even look like he was getting the ball and it fell right in borders hands. Would have been the best play by the offense by far on the day
  14. He did, was pissed they didn’t offer his brother(they eventually did and he signed). Also another reason why he could be hanging or at UB. Met his father Sandy and Ledarius. Sandy is a mountain of a dude. Good family tho. Hoping he cashes in big and gives back to UB a little bit so they can further legitimize themselves with new football facilities in addition to the field house they are already building
  15. I found it interesting how often Brandon Beane when talking with Schoop and Bulldog referred to Baker Mayfield and Mason Rudolph as comparisons to the Allen conversation but failed to mention Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, and Lamar Jackson.
  16. Exactly, that Panther/Bills connection didn’t get signed as a Free Agent last year. I would guess they would pass on a trade or a signing unless the Saints offered him a lot more last year
  17. He's more than athletic enough to play in the NFL. His cousins are Johnathan Josephs and Jadeveon Clowney so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. His story is what is so great about it. He didn't have the grades coming out of HS so he attended Butler Community College. In his freshmen year at Butler, he blew out his knee and Butler released him from his JUCO scholarship. He ended up at Iowa Western Community College and only had a handful of catches while still recovering from his knee the previous year. Buffalo, in their transition to Leipold, still had remaining scholarships and were frantically trying to put a roster together with JUCO's and other players to fill in gaps that they felt were left by Jeff Quinn. They saw Anthony's tape and took at flyer on him in LATE JULY, only two weeks from starting fall practice at UB. He then redshirted last year before exploding onto the scene this year fully recovered from his knee injury.
  18. His RT in particular is horrendous
  19. Unless they had a first round grade on him. There is a difference between Media Value and what Each GM values a guy at
  20. They are in the same league, play each other every year
  21. I think McCarron looked good in his limited action. With that said who knows how he’ll do if Coordinators get a lot of tape on him and plan for him
  22. Shippensburg is a Division 2 program in Centralish Pennsylvania. Known for having big time offenses. Is he good, or a product of the vaunted Shippensburg offensive system ?
  23. I think he is the reason they didn’t draft another one. They seem really high on him like they did Milano as well. The problem for Vallejo is he gets hurt often
  24. On every video I saw, it’s clear he relies on his upper body strength too much when throwing which cause his erratic throws. It also means, as multiple people, including Sal, that his lower body footwork is off. He has to trust himself to drive the ball with his lower body instead of his natural upper body strength. Do that and he could be an All Pro someday
