RB Frank Gore (Dolphins) to the Bills
gonzo1105 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would expect that Gore is coming in to be a 3rd down guy who can pass protect for Allen. Something none of the Bills backs were particularly good at. Still ran for almost 800 yards and over 4 YPC last year -
The Titans are signing S Kenny Vaccaro

This is the first “big” FA where the contract wasn’t ridiculous -
These are the types of deals that make you look good but in 2 years your like wtf was our GM doing. Collins is massively overrated. Redskins still spinning them wheels
-
The deal is 3 years 30 million.
-
It’s pretty obvious the Bills and Steelers felt good about trade compensation the Bills called Rosenhaus and said hey this is what we’re willing to do contractually. Rosenhaus goes to Brown and says he wants 30 mill guaranteed, Rosenhaus tells Beane, Beane thinks it’s too much and bails our of talks

Going to the Dolphins. 2 years 7 million. Can't say I'm crushed. I"m sure most feel the same. -

My guess is that if the Bills called about Brown, they have also called teams about other WRs. I would guess Green and Jones are also I’m that discussion so my thought is they were turned away for now
-
My question is who gave the info to Rapoport, to the point where he felt comfortable to go on air and announce a trade was very close? Was it some low level staff member Beane was trying to fish out, was it Rosenhaus, realizing Browns market wasn’t good and fed Rapoport hoping that other teams would up their offers?
-
I would think a swap of 1sts and a mid round makes sense. Buffalo trades 9 a 5th Steelers trade Brown #20. Fair trade for both. Gives the Bills a # 1 WR(smokescreen at the combine huh) they keep a 1st and move down to a sweet spot for a OL, DL, or TE. Word es is that the Bills love Lindstrom the Guard from Boston College.

Nothing? Not even a peep. Usually they at least announce he’s in town. Nothing about him flying to his next stop either. Must be either finalizibg a contract or he never made it in lol -
Sounds like the Browns may also move on from Kevin Zeitler. I’d be all over that if I was the Bills. Great guard.

Why not Eric Weddle for a year?
gonzo1105 replied to Seasons1992's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's in decline but he is still pretty good. If you can get him on a one year deal for decent money i'd take him for his leadership abilities alone and for the depth but I'm pretty sure he will either A. Go to a contender that can win a SB or B. Go somewhere where he can start. Neither of them are Buffalo unfortunately. -
Yup I have and my point still stands. Even so if you play this defense 100% of the time(which they wouldn’t), your wasting a lot of money for a part time player. So your paying a guy for 40% of the snaps. Your gonna sink 18 million dollars of your cap per year into the safety position? Highly unlikely. We have cap space but it’s more likely to be spent at SLB, CB, DT, or DE(as it pertains to defense), there isn’t a lot of money tied up beyond this year.
-
Yea and your probably going to pay double. I'm talking about bringing in Weddle as a 3rd safety for 4-6 million a year. I also said Weddle probably doesn't come here because he will want to be a starter. Are you gonna pay Landon Collins 9 million a year to sit on the bench. Micah Hyde is already our SS you putting him on the bench?
-
Eric Weddle just got released. Would be way more interested in that tho I’m sure Weddle would want to start.
-
For some reason this is all I can think about during this thread lol
-
Really? He came out the same year as his teammate Bud Dupree and was overshadowed by him at the combine but Smith has been the better pro. Here let me try to educate you on the guy. https://www.google.com/amp/s/247sports.com/college/kentucky/Article/ZaDarius-Smith-most-underrated-free-agent-Pro-Football-Focus-127683622/Amp/ https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/za-darius-smith-is-making-an-early-statement-in-contract-year
-
No thanks another prototype guy who doesn’t play up to his measurables. If I’m gonna spend big money on a defensive player I’d rather do it on Za’Darius Smith who’s gotten better every year and could easily be a LDE at 6’4 275

CB Rock Ya-Sin .... a McDermott special
gonzo1105 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw this and laughed immediately at all the McDermott memes. Idk what other Head Coaches and GM's have a strong wrestling background. -
I'm guessing by creative he means a guy who can play multiple positions in a defense. Can stand up, can put his hand in the dirt, has experience getting after the QB at multiple positions. I would think that would mean a guy who can play DE/DT or a guy who can play LB/DE. That makes me think he is talking about Anthony Barr or Za'Darius Smith from the Ravens.

Little talked about option for Bills at 9: Brian Burns
gonzo1105 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Packers at 12 will take either Sweat or Burns at 12. You want one you take em at 9 -
I could see even Sam LB but I think that negates his biggest strength which is rushing the passer. Before the LB's get started, one of my favorite LB's in this Draft is Terrill Hanks from New Mexico State. Former Safety conversion to LB. Fits McDermotts scheme really well. Dont Disappoint me Hanks sticking my neck out here.
