I think they will try to re sign Rapp to a deal because lets be frank, it looks like Jordan is done. Father time has set in. Doesn't look like it has set in yet for Hyde from a physical standpoint.
Rapp and Hyde next year, draft a young guy early to replace Hyde. Thats the best situation for the future.

Thats only if he plays the same position as the $13 million dollar player, which he doesnt. Yes, they are both tight ends, but they dont play the same position they have different uses. Call it what you want in 12 personnel, but Knox is the normal on the ball tight end (Y in some playbooks), meanwhile Kincaid is your off the ball split tight end (F or even H in some playbooks).
The Bills would be complete idiots to draft someone with the exact same position as Knox. I'll take it a step further to say that NFL front offices have a much different view of players they draft than fans. Fans are impacted by the media when it comes to the draft. The brand new great player, the savior of the franchise etc. I would expect teams, especially those picking in the 20's are just following their draft boards and hoping the person they bring in can help the team early on and then maybe develop into a star later after they have experience.
Expecting a player fresh out of college, drafted #25th overall, to come in and be GREAT, is a pipe dream and something that only leads to disappointment. Its a marathon not a sprint.
My point is, Kincaid cant control the routes he is asked to run, or how deep he is when Josh throws him the ball. He is doing the portion of his job he can control to 95% percent efficiency. If you are going to measure a receiving option on how often he drops the ball, you sure as hell better also measure them on how often they catch it, regardless of things he cant control.
I appreciate this post if nothing more than to highlight a guy who clearly understands the game of football beyond the common fan. I can't stand guys who make claims yet can't articulate the game beyond well two TE's, one makin a lot means the other isn't gonna do certain things that I expected him to do.

You have to remember that Kincaid is being asked to do a ton. Learn a very complex pass scheme structure and he has to learn the blocking schemes, and really learn to block in general since he was rarely asked to do that at Utah.
I know people want to see the guy in the college tape but Knox and him along with the guards are making a world of difference in the run game for starters. He is then being used as a weapon underneath which showed yesterday early. He has a ton of receptions just not a lot of big plays yet but they will come, I promise you that as he gets everything down that he is asked to do.

I am glad McDermott is calling the D plays. But Leslie Frazier was, is and will always be one helluva human being dedicated to his players and his craft. Let's not do the after-the-fact blame game and be happy with what we have.
This is not just a you thing, but what does Leslie Frazier being a good human being have to do with utilizing talent in a correct manner?
I mean I’m a good guy doesn’t mean I do everything well in life

It’s the Bills man, we are going to lose a game in this stretch leaving us scratching our heads

Siran Neal playing corner is always a bad idea… even in preseason
Siran Neal is more trusted by coaches and had a damn good preseason. I’m not saying he will but it’s a possibility-

Just stop with this stuff.
next week, if they were to lose, you’d be praising Frazier and starting posts about McD.
No actually I wouldn't. You can see a difference with this defense for whatever reason. This defense is playing with a physical pissed off edge this year. Something that I didn't see over the last couple of years.

The scheme on offense is fine but Allen playing above and beyond the structure remains the reason we are in contention for the AFC championship
The only play he made outside of the structure of the offense today was the flick down the sideline to Cook and maybe the TD throw to Diggs those are really the only two plays you can say today that was made outside of the structure of the offense-

Dorsey calls a good game most weeks but it’s about getting Allen comfortable with taking what the defense gives him. We’re seeing Allen evolve. Romo said Allen calls it playing boring football.
The last 3 weeks Allen’s has made very few turnover worthy plays. I don’t think he had one today.
Yes this. I keep saying they key to this offense is making Allen a different player. People give me the roll the eyes emoji when I said the most important part of the Bills offense moving forward is Allen playing within the system and become more Brady than Favre.
He has done that 3 straight games hitting the 5 yard passes over and over and eventually teams switch out of it and the big plays start coming.
When we lose it’s very rarely we get beat. It’s mostly our own self inflicted wounds that cost us games

Feel free to merge this with the other Frazier thread but the more I watch this defense, and this team in general, has an edge to it.
It’s pretty clear through 4 games that Frazier wasn’t running McDermotts defense and McDermott determined that his DC was holding some players back.
The difference in play and aggressiveness from Ed Oliver, Greg Rousseau have been night and day.
The development of AJ Epenesa who has been really good early this year, Terrell Bernard, Christian Benford look like pro bowl type players now.
just a huge night and day difference with some of these guys from last year.

Well if he’s not active next week I don’t know if he will ever be. Could be active but might not play over Siran Neal

The Dolphins have perfected an offense while having a vulnerable QB and a weakish OL. The Bills should be studying Mike McDaniel because he is giving a master class on building an offense that centers around the strengths of it's talent while at the same time covering their weaknesses. Bad OL? Just get rid of the ball in under 2.5 seconds. Intelligent QB with limited arm strength? Run mostly short to mid range timing routes across the middle.
Do the Bills have 4 of the fastest players in the NFL right now on offense, because that is the sole reason for their success. Don't have to block anyone when your WR's are immediately open because they can separate. Dont need to have a QB with a cannon arm when the throwing windows are huge.
As much as Belichick gets hate, his gameplan is correct. The Dolphins love to throw the ball between the hashes at all levels. Clog the middle of the field and make Tua throw the 12 yard curls, the 9 routes with consistency.

Listened to Joe Marino's podcast yesterday and he posed a pretty interesting perspective on the Daboll thing.
The narrative is that Brian Daboll made Josh Allen. Marino posits that maybe it's the other way around and it's Josh Allen who made Daboll. Part of the argument is the relatively steady offensive production in being one of the top NFL offenses even after Daboll left and Daboll's Giants being one of the bottom half NFL offenses.
I think it's a bit of an oversimplification, but I also think the folks (Colin Cowherd) who say Brian Daboll was the brilliant coordinator who reined in Josh Allen is an oversimplification. And maybe it's absolutely false, considering the amount of time Josh spent with Jordan Palmer working on his game for so many offseasons.
I believe 95% of the time, Quarterbacks make the coordinator/head coach and not the other way around. There are examples of Head Coaches who had mediocre play get their teams deep in the playoffs and/or Super Bowls but usually if you have mediocre QB play you better have absolutely dominate defense.
Just look at Adam Gase(Peyton Manning), Josh McDaniel's(Tom Brady), Nathaniel Hackett(Aaron Rodgers) as recent examples of guys who's careers and reps were made off of QB's who could have me as their coach and succeed.
Josh Allen is going to succeed at a high level no matter who the coordinator is. The only example of recent successes of guys who look better than they are due to their coach is the team we are playing this week.

Have the QB continue to play within the system verse trying to have him do it all himself.

Two really good quick throws for positive yardage and then you chuck it deep into double coverage. My god.
-
Sean McVay has been a terrible play caller tonight. The Bengals are literally pinning their ears back all game. How bout you try running the ball like at all this game. He's calling no quick game whatsoever just letting Stafford take 5-7 step drops getting crushed every drop back. Throw the ball to the RB in the flats, run some draws, a WR screen or two any of that would be successful right now but no by all means keep trying to throw down the field.

Lock me into the group that thinks they should ban push sneaking. My god is it boring football on a yard. Plus they have the TE stand to the side and grab his shoulder pads as well to pull him forward.

Your talking about teams fan's who traditionally travel well(Bills, Chiefs, Steelers) going to destination cities. Jax and Tampa in Florida and Las Vegas is a destination city as well. I don't think its an indicator at least based on the scenarios laid out.

Unlike last year, I think the last two weeks was unspectacular but highly efficient. The problem for fans is they are used to the over the top down the field offense that is humming at all times. Teams have stopped that. Now we must be boring and matriculate more often. The reason the Dolphins can do it is there is just so much damn speed on that offense.
Just now, That's No Moon said:They have absolutely no idea how to use 1 TE let alone 2. Everything they get is a dump off or thrown to them running towards the sidelines. Nothing attacking the center of the field. We are seeing a lot of 2 high safeties? Hmm, where is the hole in that defense I wonder....
They are doing that because the Right Tackle sucks and they have to chip for him all the time. They chip and release to the flat like 35% of the time I would bet.

Not to make this an Edmunds thread but watching him against the Chiefs and I saw him week 1 he really is just a big body who doesn’t know what he’s doing out there. Bernard has made more game changing plays in 3 weeks than he did in 5 years and that’s not an over exaggeration

Bernard has made as many plays in back to back games as Edmunds did in his 5 years. TFL followed by an INT

I always have said watching this game, it was a very sloppy AFC championship games from both offenses. The Bills may have won but they looked awful on offense and it was an omen for what was about to happen in the Super Bowl unfortunately. If the Dolphins could have even play above average they would have won that game.
The difference in athleticism from that era to now is also incredibly noticeable. Same with kickers like you stated.

Brown got help most of the game.
Yup, there were numerous times during the game that Knox stayed in and chipped and sometimes where Harris was lined up in the slot to chip before releasing as well.
I also noticed and I would have to watch more of Crosby, but he was lined up ungodly wide. I'm not talking Wide 9. I'm talking there were time where the man was in a 3 point stance where a slot WR would line up.
Brandon Beane…..you have to bring in a Corner.

I think that it depends on what the Bills think of Kaiir Elam, Siran Neal, and Ingram.
I don’t think they’d go that route unless they see another long term CB injury
