when we lost Stephon Gilmore and he went on to be a pro bowler the next season did we get any pick for him despite getting one of the highest paid CB salaries at the time? The answer is no. It doesn’t matter near as much as people try to make it out
-
the pro bowl , contract stuff you heard in the past is a fallacy. The contract only matters for 2 reasons. 1. Alike contracts for gained and lost cancel each other out 2. Remaining players who didn’t get cancel get slotted for a round based on remaining contract size. hope that makes some sense

even so far. Players we cut don’t count. So no Williams, Klein when they sign. So far we’re even gained 3 lost 3. Gained Jones Settle McKissic Lost: Trubisky Wallace Phillips Saffold doesn’t count as he was cut by the Titans

100% the next signing will be neither Jones or Hicks. It will be at neither position being discussed

2 years 17 million makes me think the Giants may have offered Trubisky more but he saw a better opportunity with the Steelers and took less money -
its actually not hard at all but the mystique surrounding it years ago still gets to people. Did you gain more non cut free agents than you lost. Oh you gained more? No comp pick Did you lose more than you gained? Yes? How many? 2 more? 2 comp picks. How much money did they make? That slots into what round you get as a pick

As it stands rn the Bills won’t get a pick next year either

Bills converting Matt Milano salary to signing bonus

The only thing I can think is it seems they always have another guy in the back pocket before they make that move. It’s very possible they are going after another slot WR. I wouldn’t be against Jamison Crowder -
My thought on all of the DT interest is two fold. 1. I think by getting experienced guys in the middle with proven success it will help the younger defensive ends have one on ones and hopefully became better at their craft 2. I think they are on the fence with Edmunds. They probably feel they haven't given him enough beef up front to flow and be as successful as they like. If they put all of these guys in front of him and he is still average then they have their answer on whether to reup him or not after his 5th year option.

Levi Wallace gone to the Steelers on 2-year deal

The Plan B is to sign another Cornerback who's better or to draft one in the first or second round. -
He is very good at catching the ball, not just in the screen game but also down the field with wheel routes and angle routes. He’s a pretty explosive guy, will probably play the role that most envisioned Cordarelle Patterson would have played if he came here. Another speed guy on offense to cause mismatches underneath. Another good under the market signing.

Ward signed with the 49ers but they didn’t even list the guy who lost fits the Bills and that’s Donte Jackson from Carolina(yes yes another panther). I’d be going after him right now especially with the way the DB market has been exceptionally slow so far

What I notice so far is a lot of 2 year deals for guys. Thinking there has to be a correlation between that and the new salary cap surge after the TV deals get redone. Not a lot of big money getting thrown around due to tighter caps -
The Steelers signed him to a 2 year max value 27 million that’s 13.5 million meaning that the Bills next year would get a 4th rounder if they sign less qualifying free agents than they gain so scratch this apparently since 13 million is incentives the actual deal is 2 years 14.2 million so 7.1 million is a 6th rounder so disappointed in that
-
you still have to make an eligible level of salary to count. Many guys don’t qualify. Looks like last year 2.3 mill was the non qualifying cutoff. I expect them to be more than that but the qualifying salary will probably also be higher
-
depends if Settle and Jones qualify. I’m not sure they will. 6 million is rolling a 6th rounder these days and I don’t either got that much. It will be interesting to see their numbers

Feliciano to the Giants - Will play center
gonzo1105 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
To me, and I get he’s playing center, they are replacing Will Hernandez with a worse version of Will Hernandez -
So 14 million is a 4th round comp pick.

There is the big 1T everyone has been clamoring for. Not a big stat guy but a plugger -

Joe Schoen with his first signing and I think it’s a really good one. I think Glowinski should have been on our radar and his deal was actually super reasonable -
Well all know Beane works best after dark. I would suspect we’re gonna wait it out though to see who gets let go from other teams. I legit think they are finally gonna go the NE Patriots route and sign cut guys from other teams, let their own go this year, and grab young cheap contracts in the draft with their 10 or 11 picks next year

Let’s see if the Chargers make the playoff first before we crown them -
I know I’ll get big time disagreement but Sal is the classic give it but can’t take it type of guy. I liked him when he first started but but the gig has gone to his head.

This might be the year that the Bills grab some of those vaunted comp picks. Trubisky with a big deal probably out of the gate and our first signing is a guy who was cut and doesn't count.
