  1. He's in decline but he is still pretty good. If you can get him on a one year deal for decent money i'd take him for his leadership abilities alone and for the depth but I'm pretty sure he will either A. Go to a contender that can win a SB or B. Go somewhere where he can start. Neither of them are Buffalo unfortunately.

Have u ever heard of Big Nickel Defense? Nobody has to go to bench.

Yup I have and my point still stands. Even so if you play this defense 100% of the time(which they wouldn’t), your wasting a lot of money for a part time player. So your paying a guy for 40% of the snaps. Your gonna sink 18 million dollars of your cap per year into the safety position? Highly unlikely. We have cap space but it’s more likely to be spent at SLB, CB, DT, or DE(as it pertains to defense),  there isn’t a lot of money tied up beyond this year.

Id rather go after Landon Collins than Eric Weddle

Yea and your probably going to pay double. I'm talking about bringing in Weddle as a 3rd safety for 4-6 million a year. I also said Weddle probably doesn't come here because he will want to be a starter. Are you gonna pay Landon Collins 9 million a year to sit on the bench. Micah Hyde is already our SS you putting him on the bench?

    Who?

If Im not mistaken Zo was excellent in coverage last year and one of the top graded LBs.

Really? He came out the same year as his teammate Bud Dupree and was overshadowed by him at the combine but Smith has been the better pro. Here let me try to educate you on the guy.

  5. I'm guessing by creative he means a guy who can play multiple positions in a defense. Can stand up, can put his hand in the dirt, has experience getting after the QB at multiple positions. I would  think that would mean a guy who can play DE/DT or a guy who can play LB/DE. That makes me think he is talking about Anthony Barr or Za'Darius Smith from the Ravens.

I'm surprised there aren't more mocks that give us Burns. He fills a need and fits what we're trying to build. Haven't seen a ton of talk about him though.

I could see even Sam LB but I think that negates his biggest strength which is rushing the passer.

Before the LB's get started, one of my favorite LB's in this Draft is Terrill Hanks from New Mexico State. Former Safety conversion to LB. Fits McDermotts scheme really well. Dont Disappoint me Hanks sticking my neck out here.

Burns is another guy you could basically line up all over.  Such a fluid athlete.

I think Burns has been the most impressive DL at this thing and yes that includes Sweat. You can just see his natural athleticism. He is now up to 249 and it hasn't affected him at all. He also has elite college tape unlike Sweat. I would consider him at 9 as well. I want elite traits and elite tape.

After watching that performance.   Hes like a combination of Julio Jones and EMO.

Does he make it to 9 after this combine?

Yea except for the fact that you know Julio Jones had everything Metcalf had and Dominated the SEC for multiple years. Something Metcalf never did. He has no wiggle. Hes a straight line guy. That wont play in the NFL. Throw in his Injury history and I'll pass. Great athletes dont necessarily make good football players. You have to take the elite measurables and combine them with tape. Thats what scares me about guys like Gary and Sweat as well. Great athletes who didn't translate it to success on the field.

Why not his teammate Noah fant?

Because while he's a better athlete, He was 2nd on the depth chart at Iowa for a reason. He has inconsistent blocking, inconsistent hands. A perfect example was he was killing the combine no doubt and he ran a wheel route drill and clanged right off his hands and he dropped it. Listen to the ball hit Hockenson's hands. You barely hear it which indicates he has really soft hands. Fant is the boom or bust guy. Hockenson at worst is a top 15 TE in the NFL with the potential for Top 5.

  10. If you listened to McDermott during his press conference he talked about helping Allen by building inside then out. Which means protecting him then worrying about weapons.

Now they could easily sign two FA OL and that would adjust the thinking but as it stands now if they are going offense it sounds like OL

  11. I’m still not on board with Metcalf. Idk why I’m just not feeling him. He had very little production, had injuries and had two other NFL quality WRs to take pressure off yet it still didn’t happen.

I like grabbing WRs like Ridley, Samuel, Isabella, etc later in the draft more then that. He may make me eat my words but I hope he does go before 9.

Does anyone else see Cody Ford as a Tackle?  Every time I watch him I see all guard but they keep pressing him as a tackle.  Even during the Drills I saw guard.

See this is what I think too. Then when I started to go into everything. Is Ford as a Guard better then Bradbury at Center? I tend not to think so. I'd grade them very closely. So why is Ford considered in the 10-20 range and Bradbury the 30-50 range. After today that will change obviously but I find stuff to be like that funny. Why isn't Lindstrom considered a first rounder then. I could argue Lindstrom is better than Ford at Guard. Does the potential to play RT make that much of a difference.

  13. When people watch Hockensons tape you have to remember the guy is 21 years old. He's still young. I went back and watched tape of Travis Kelce at Cincinnati and he was a lumberer he didn't look like a freak athlete either. I will say Kelce did look a hell of a lot more filled out in the upper body in college. Its very hard to compare Hockenson to guys like him and Gronk and Ertz who have filled out their bodies and have been in the league awhile.
