It’s ok to admit both which I can.

So far I love Keon the person. Seems

fun loving and innocent. A guy the locker room will enjoy. You can see he wants to work hard and be a good person .

But I can also point out his faults as Keon the player as well

He has faults I’m not denying that. The Bills have a type of person/player they like. Coleman fit it to a tee. They met with him numerous times.

The problem is most people can’t separate what they want in a player vs what the Bills want

  2. Ray Davis is a complete back and he was my favorite RB in the draft. He’s a legit 3 down back. He obviously is a good down hill runner, led his team in TD receptions and his best attribute is he’s a hell of a pass pro RB which Janes Cook is terrible at. Davis was an incredibly smart pick

I have to admit, this video is indeed a bit disappointing.

Especially if you compare it to the same video of Xavier Leggette.

It’s disappointing because Coleman is billed as the “contested catch guy” but if you watch all of Leggette’s targets, he has a higher success rate of coming down with those catches, and seems to be better at just about everything else as well.

For all the buzz about the trade KC, it’s the trade with Carolina that leaves me with more questions.

Do we know for sure that Leggette was not our guy?

For all those that say we wouldn’t have made the trade if Panthers were coming after our guy, ok, then what is the point of trading up one spot for either team in that case? Why would the Panthers make this trade if they weren’t worried about us taking Leggette??? They could have just had him with the next pick after we drafted Coleman if this was true.

Not sure I’m convinced we didn’t get screwed.

We wanted Coleman the whole time. Why is this so hard to believe. Him and Dan Morgan are buddies. Legette stated that he met with Carolina a ton and they told him they were going to take him.

Mike Reiss, New England’s reporter said they tried to trade up with the Bills ahead of Carolina. So is it hard to believe that Beane called up his buddy Morgan and told him NE offered him this and if he wanted to guarantee himself Legette he had to throw him a sweetener to move down a spot

Very balanced take and hard to disagree! Just hard to trust he will do what it takes to put the team over the top this time when it always felt like they just needed another piece or two on offense outside of the 13 seconds year, where they just plain blew it.

Will have to agree to disagree on this one. Diggs he deserves credit for but anyone could see they needed a serious talent infusion at WR. My belief is they've routinely over-invested in defense that has come up woefully short in every single moment that has mattered over the last 3 seasons, and that starts philosophically at the top.

I will continuously say this when people bring up the defense. Yea they invest there but it hasn’t just been the defense that has failed the Bills in the playoffs .

In the 3 Chiefs games specifically

The first year we took an early lead and the better more experienced playoff team overwhelmed them. We gave up 37 yes but the offense was completely shut down in the 2nd half. I might add the Bills offense put up a whopping 10 points in the divisional game against the Ravens

The 2nd year they put up 36 and lost. No one after that year was talking about adding more offense they were talking about coaching and defense blowing it.

Last year there were blunders in all facets. Bass misses, fake punt gone wrong, offense stalling in the 3rd and a defense ravaged by injuries. Still had a chance to win and couldn’t get it done.

In 2 out of those 3 games the Chiefs simply made more plays in the clutch than the Bills.

The Bengals game the Bills got dominated again in both offense and defense including Allen being awful but all anyone talked about was the defense getting gashed which they were.

They have done everything. Loaded up on offense, loaded up on defense and didn’t matter. Make more plays in the clutch that is how we are going to beat them.

I don't think the criticism should be as a result of this draft. What he did is fine - but we have never focused on the offense or giving Josh the weapons that he needs to put this team over the top during a period in which Beane swore "he was never going all in". Now we have a "reset" year in the prime of Josh's career. That is not ok and a result of previous failures that he deserves a lot of criticism for.

This is unwarranted. Beane has essentially now given Allen 3 1st round caliber players to throw to. Diggs via trade, Kincaid last year and now Coleman.

He also signed Beasley in his prime.

If you want to say he didn’t do it early enough okay I can hear ya but he has given him good ball players to throw to

  6. The Philosophy of this team has always been the same.

Blue Collar players who work hard and work as a team instead of worrying about individual status. Good character guys who fit a locker room. Even the Maserati is from a middle of nowhere Cali town where he grew up on a farm and was non recruited

The funny thing is that everyone loves this pick for this franchise. I haven't heard or read even one person say it was a bad pick for the Bills (i agree), however, Bills fans in all of their infinite wisdom and YouTube knowledge are the first ones to berate it and then, say our FO is wrong.......you know, when they were wrong about drafting JA, so i take this all with a grain of salt cause i've witnessed what this kid can do and he is electric.

Could it be that Bills fans are wrong?..........never, just ask them.

I said it in another thread everyone will bring up Gronk over Troup, Metcalf over Ford and Russ over Graham about how smart they were compared to the front office but I’m sure if I spammed this board over the last 5 years it will be 50-1 on guys like that compared to guys that were recommended that flopped on their ass

  8. I said for months that the Bills would love his leadership and character traits and that he was the type of player they would love because of his maximum effort and doing the small things it takes to win.

Most didn’t want to hear that cause they read a couple scouting reports and wanted more speed guys

Kupp, St. Brown and Kelce were proven commodities as #1 receiving options. Putting complimentary pieces around those players at least has some logic to it.

We're putting all of our hopes in Shakir and Kincaid taking big steps forward and for Coleman to have a big rookie year.

I mean that’s what you do with 1st round picks you expect them to take steps. If Kincaid didn’t take a step with Diggs we would have been in trouble. Coleman would have been a first rounder if we didn’t trade down. The idea was we never gave Allen legit high draft weapons. He now has two essential 1st round picks to throw to and we might give him another high end one next year whether in the first or second

From what I can gather, he wasn't always put in positions to succeed there. They were running screens with him. Like, what? Also throwing prayers up to him when double or triple covered or when the defender has established leverage. There were consistently under thrown balls to him, causing more contested catch situations than needed (and having to wait for a ball and the defender getting back in the play makes it harder for a receiver than just a normal 50/50 ball).

I actually think he might do much better in the pros with a much better QB throwing to him and not being the focal point of the offense. Of course, he'll also be going up against better talent, but I expect he will be used more appropriately than he was in college.

Well yeah, why was he running go routes all the time? I think he was mismanaged in college. They had him doing everything, including a lot of things that played to his weaknesses, not strengths.

This is what I was saying about him pre draft , FSU relied on basically a jump ball offense and very rarely threw anything but a screen or go ball to him. I think he is capable of way more than that when people talk about his lack of route tree it’s just he wasn’t asked to

Told everyone that every defense in the country is going to see that on tape and adjust to it causing a lack of separation.

Look at the LSU TD he wins in contested fashion in the opener over Major Burns. Any NFL team would have adjusted as Burns is literally 12 yards off Coleman but they still throw it up to him for the TD instead of adjusting to a slant

He will improve. The kod is very teachable and eager to get better.  He has the physical and mental/attitude attributes.   Now it's up to coaching.

Oh I have no doubt. He's 20 years old there is no one here who can say they were maxed out in their profession at that age. Most hadn't even started it.

Sorry if this was already posted, but here is a good video.  While it does confirm that Coleman struggles with separation on deep routes, you can see him doing very well in creating separation on other routes.

The film of his struggles to separate vertically starts around 6:20.

After that, you will see some impressive route running in which Coleman is successful in separating from DBs.

    Enjoy.

He’s going to have to be better at contested catches to win vertically but I believe he will eat in the intermediate middle of the field as a pro and I don’t mean from the slot

  13. I was high on Hamler coming out. He has failed to this point no doubt but he was stuck behind Jeudy and Sutton and then on top of that has had nothing but horrible QB play.

I remember the game where he got incredibly frustrated as he was wide open in the EZ and QB threw it somewhere else.

I have low expectations but he is the type of dart throw I love especially when Allen is now the QB

I mean, the actual Tyreek Hill was passed over 32 times in 4 different rounds. So the fact that 27 teams passed over him doesn’t mean much to me.

That being said, I really didn’t want Worthy either. I just don’t want us to hand KC who they want.

He was passed over so many times cause he had a lot of character issues including getting kicked out of OK State it had nothing to do with his play.

He has been accused of multiple things since, birthed a whole offense but because he’s a top playmaker that stuff is overlooked now

     Ok

A UDFA wouldn’t have been in Buffalo working out on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. He would have been at home with his family hoping he was getting drafted. If he wasn’t drafted he would have fielded 32 opportunities from teams and weighed money and opportunity to make the team.

He wouldn’t have said well let me travel listen to no one else and sign with the Bills. The WR that Beane is signing is someone who has already gone through the draft process or has been playing in another league . Satisfied with my answer now?

Lol, this is the saddest thread on here in a while. There are people on here that think this WR room is good. We are now suggesting ways to make it even better!! People are talking about adding (in no particular order): Chase Claypool, Kenny Golladay, washed Michael Thomas, washed OBJ, and washed Allen Robinson.

What are we doing here? The Bills needed to upgrade the WR room. They needed 2 boundary receivers at the top of the depth chart. They added one guy that was the most polarizing WR prospect, in arguably the greatest WR draft ever. That’s a massive failure. You aren’t going to dig yourself out by adding Kenny Golladay. As it stands the Bills have the worst WR group in the NFL. The TEs are good and the backs can catch but the WRs are last IMO.

To be clear I didn’t say I wanted Kenny Golladay, just that if their making a vet WR work out on Day 3 of the draft it is unlikely to be someone like Boyd etc and more likely to be a guy that has been out of the league a bit.

the only reason I brought up Golladay was he was the first ones to come to mind. I also was thinking Scotty Miller as an example as well etc
