I 100% agree that people who think a guy at 28 even in a deep WR is going to come in and get massive targets with Diggs, Cook , Kincaid etc etc here are delusional. I was one of the first to be on McConkey as a Bills possibility and I think it’s still there depending what’s on the board.

That leaves 7 guys but out of those 13 it’s not out of the realm of possibility that any of the 13 are there at the Bills pick.

I think I’m my unbiased opinion Beane has been really good at finding solid contributors in the draft at all levels and has done a great job on day 3 in particular which means the scouts have been doing great. I think my only problem with him is he hasn’t drafted enough difference makers or guys who have become truly elite

It’d be nice to be able to have conversations about other guys. I will continue to hang my hat on I literally picked Kincaid to the Bills last year in my last mock and got laughed at by people who thought it was a terrible investment since we already had Knox and his big contract. I have numerous times man in these threads talked about other WRs, other positions as possibility, other players and it is guys like you who are fighting having lengthy discussions about other players cause again if it’s not Thomas, Mitchell, or Legette it’s unacceptable. In your case you like Worthy too. Thats 4 players on this board that are acceptable picks at 28 for like 75% of this board. It gets tiring when you talk about someone else and people like you come around staring nope terrible investment, doesn’t fit the roster and while you may seem incredibly intelligent right now what if one of those 4 players doesn’t get picked and even worse another WR gets picked. Then you and everyone else is gonna look like an idiot on this board. You want me to invest, I would encourage you sir to to open up your mind of possibilities beyond 4 guys as there is a much stronger likelihood of them not being picked than there is and be open to other peoples ideas. I have never once said I don’t want a WR in round 1 but I think people do have a valid point that you can get 2 WRs in this draft starting in round 2 and another in round 4 and still consider that a significant investment as you put it. The only WRs that wouldn’t have cost a ton for a trade up were Aiyuk, Hopkins, Ridley, Jefferson, Moore. 38%. Aiyuk and Ridley didn’t achieve 1,000 yards in their first two years. The only other WR on this list that was drafted near the 28th pick that had 1,000 yards was Michael Pittman at 34th. Every other WR was drafted 50 or later that went in the 2nd round 6 out of 28 1,000 yard WRs went in trade up range or slightly after the Bills pick at 28 or 21% If anything, statistically speaking, based on your own data, The Bills have a 21% chance of getting a 1,000 yard WR based on 2023 1,000 yard WRs. Just to be fair for the last statistic I didn’t include most 2nd rounders because they went before pick 60 besides DK Metcalf who went 64th. So this excludes Aj Brown, George Pickens, and Devante Adams. 10 of the 28 guys were drafted after pick 60 or 35% Now for your last point of it depends who your QB is: Of course it does to an extent but not entirely. You don’t seem to understand that my whole process is to make people think. HappyDays said that 27 WRs and 13 of them came in the first round this past year. I rebutted that WR play is highly contingent on QB play. I said that to him and he didn’t respond because he knew it hurt his argument at the time. Then when I responded that only 3 of 12 WRs have 1,000 yards on their first two years after he states that 1,000 yards shouldn’t be hard for a guy he rebutted with well most of those guys don’t have Josh Allen and a guy should easily be able to eclipse 1,000 yards( my original point). I then said if that is now his point than the Bills can be willing to wait until round 2 to get their WR. He talked out of both sides his mouth, used my original point, got caught and conveniently didn’t respond again. I’m not against WR in the first round. The whole idea of my post was to say it’s not as easy as snap your fingers and you have 1,000 yards for a rookie or 2nd year guy and most of the guys who achieved that were taken in the top 15 of the draft not in late round 1. Do you understand what I’m putting down yet or do I need to further explain it?

Most of these guys come from broken homes, poor, bad areas or all of the above. His story, while sad, isn’t unique unfortunately

I mentioned this exact point to you when your 27 WRs and half of them are first rounders argument was about so you could prove your point about taking a 1st round WR instead of another position. I said the exact same thing to you that having a QB who is above average makes WR play significantly better when I said those 27 most of them either had great QB play or were the only viable weapon on their team(Theilen) If your making my point now , that you brushed over then my argument would be well if we have Josh Allen with our offense than we can wait in a really heavy draft at WR waiting until round 2 and still get an impact WR.

Yea I watched his game against UB. I wasn’t surprised when he tested at 6’1. He was listed at 6’3 in the program and I was like no way at the game. He has good body control and he’s a very good hands catcher. He doesn’t really separate a ton from guys granted it was against an FBS team but he adjusts well to throws. I was disappointed in his height measurement as well as his slower time.He has really good other testing numbers but I didn’t see that explosion much like with AD Mitchell when you watch his tape. I think he could be a good boundary possession receiver with time. Would look best in a west coast system imo

I’ve always stated it’s a good year to get 2 WRs and agree we need some sort of size component with one of them. A guy that I really like as a big WR to take late is: JT Clarke WR UTSA- Dude is super talented at give or take 6’2 215. The reason why he won’t go is he’s a medical guy. 2 torn ACLs and an ankle will ward off a lot of teams but I really like him if he can bounce back. Take a look he’s literally not found on a lot of boards because he didn’t play at all in 2023 I also like the Janke(pronounced Yawnke) twins from SDSU but they have yet to test so I don’t want to put my stamp on them. They will on Wednesday

I liked Franklin early as a great fit for the Bills but his combine and body type turned me off to him. With that said, it’s clear the Bills have some level of interest in him with the private workout and meeting at the combine. I’ll never hate on a guy putting himself out there to be judged.

I get the need for a bigger WR. I also think there is very little chance that Brian Thomas and AD Mitchell are on the board when the Bills pick. I also think that the Bills not getting a 3rd round comp pick is going to hinder the possibility of trading up. That leaves Legette and even Gunner , who is a huge fan of him had readily admitted people in the industry don’t see him as a 1st rounder even tho he does. I see him as a late round 2 guy but had him going 43 in my latest mock. I just don’t think the 3 guys people constantly talk about are truly feasible options

I was being a smart ass man, let’s be frank you or I, or anyone else on this board have no idea what the Bills are going to do. You have no idea if they will take Malachi Corley or any other perceived slot or small WR. I also have no clue if they are only targeting big WRs. At least I’ve been willing to discuss all options both WR and non WR at 28 instead of pigeonholing myself to 3 human beings like 90% of this board has done. I was one of the first who brought up both McConkey and Roman Wilson who will both go around ish the Bills pick only to be told nope impossible. I sat here and talked about DT being a legit possibility which it still is in round 1 when Jeremiah mocked Jerzahn Newton but no one wants to have an open mind because it’s Brian Thomas, AD Mitchell or Xavier Legette or bust on this board

We’re not allowed to discuss anyone under 6’2 around here as an option for the Bills unless he runs a 4.21. Im making a smart comment. I think Corley is an option at 60 if the Bills pass on WR I’m well aware the Bills scout everyone. I know NFL scouts. I use to work for the UB football team when Leipold was there as a recruiting assistant/ offensive QC/ Video guy. I’ve coached at the college and HS level. Im pretty clued in to what does and doesn’t happen in the process.
