  1. Loaded question but I think its a combination of having stiff competition in our conference (Chiefs Bengals inparticular) and a lack of high end difference makers who can come through in big situations during the playoffs
  2. There is literally no one left on the UB staff from when I was there besides Julie O’Neill so I can speak for his staff but one thing Leipold always did was find high end QB play and then developed OL and found JUCO kids on the DLine very well. It’s funny Charlie Jones almost wasn’t a take until the last minute. He was all but going to North Dakota State. The Pattersons were grayshirted and anyone could have snapped them up but no one came for them. Would have been a crusher.
  3. Yea, I did recruiting, Video, and Operations, as well as some quality control(breaking down film) work for Lance and his Staff for about a year and a half but the pay wasn't great and I'm older so I gave it up. Work in Pharmacy Operations now. I began being trusted enough to get the pleasure of being in team and staff meetings. Lance is a great guy and treats everyone fairly. Can't say enough good things about the guy.
  4. I was on the staff in 2017 and they converted the football offices which everyone knows about already. The Fieldhouse, Weightroom, and Scoreboard were the next 3 that were always talked about with the field house being attached to the weightroom at the time. I'm obviously now not in the building so things could have changed in 6 years for sure.
  5. You can thank Lance Leipold for the sports performance center even though he’s in Kansas. He was the one that got that set in motion before he left. The hideous scoreboard was also on the docket but nothing about the stadium that im aware of
  6. Both were claimed by the Texans
  7. I think that Beane should listen to his scouts a lot more when it comes to early round picks instead of his other higher ups and McDermott. Obviously, I'm not in the room but the vast majority of the time, THE GM, HC etc. only go and see the top guys and scout them due to time. Then the scouts do the dirty work and usually in Day 3 its the scouts that are pounding the table for guys to the GM instead of the GM dictating. The Bills scouting staff has found multiple day 3 guys but can't seem to figure out Day 2 very well.
  8. Dude Sternberger is worthless. He has been on multiple teams and practice squad and can't stick. He also can't block to save his life and he is nowhere near the weapon you are portraying him to be or he would have ate 3rd stringers alive in any of the preseasons that he has had the opportunity to play.
  9. Good for those 3 guys. Get to be on a 53 and make more money than being on the PS. I think the Bills didn't care about Zayne Anderson but for sure wanted Austin and Broeker on the PS here.
  10. She just happy that big paycheck still rolling in. To him he was a high pick struggling to stay relevant in his 5th year. It would have also been his big contract test if he hit. I’d be salty too if I was in year 5 hanging on to my dream not making the money I thought I would
  11. Eh backup RT and who can play the Left but I think RVD would be better on the left. He’s basically the shell replacement if they bring him in.
  12. QB's, LB, and OT have to all be on deck and talked to. I like RVD at LT but RT he needs work and no way Anderson is going to be our primary backup RT. My guess is either Bates is going to become all utilty for 4 out of the 5 positions or they are in the market for another Tackle.
  13. Could have been they wanted to see Anderson against better comp out at Tackle to see if he could handle it. He failed imo
  14. Our boy Edmunds still can’t tackle in space I see
  15. Yea its not longer the prominent reading material. Very few people go to SI anymore for sports information. Its lost a lot of its great writers. 50 years ago sure, 30 years ago spot on but in 2023 Sports Illustrated is going downhill and will probably be out of business in another 10 years. It had a good run.
  16. I think 9-8 is the absolute floor but it possible. I think we are headed for an 11-6 or 10-7 type season myself but SI shouldn't be taken seriously in anything and this to me is a writer who is working for a fledgling company trying to draw clicks by having the Patriots win the division. Nothing more nothing less.
  17. Very solid at LT, needs work at RT but has good traits to be coached up. Expect him to make the 53 and very well could end up our swing tackle if a trade isn't made.
  18. I honestly as a gambler would take the Jets. Home opener, 9/11 atmosphere. A defense that the Bills mightily struggled with last year just sets up for a let down. Hope I’m wrong but I’d predict like a 23-16 type Jets win
  19. Williams will be a great player and he needs to start and take his lumps this year. I had him as the # 2 MLB in the draft last year and he hasn’t proven me wrong yet. He has shown some high level skills just didn’t think we’d have to throw him to the wolves this early
  20. Its a guy to play the 3rd preseason game. I'm pretty sure its mostly to protect the top 3 guys but they may also not want to expose Jordan Mims who I fully expect to get a practice squad invite. I'd expect this guy and Evans to get all of the carries next week.
  21. I disagree with the first sentence a touch. The first two passes Allen dropped back he got hot feet and bailed out of a fairly decent pocket. I was disappointed in that
  22. I said earlier, and it doesn't really mean much but after watching him for two weeks, he might be our best pass blocking tackle on the roster and 2nd overall behind Dawkins.
  23. No it hasn't, Sternberger can't block and the Bills will keep 3 TE's only because Kincaid wont be used as a blocker indicating that the 3rd TE has to be able to block. He can't. In addition, Shorter has looked today but he is a very awkward pass catcher. Looks like he lacks confidence in his hands and body catches everything but even when he body catches he looks like he tries to absorb it in his body everytime.
  24. Dude I’m gonna legit say this. I think Van DeMark might be this teams 2nd best tackle right now. Q-Berry a veteran gets flat out abused on that strip sack.
  25. Maybe people will start listening to my draft take that he is a bad schematic fit who is incredibly handsy, average in coverage, and doesn’t want to tackle. He’s an overrated football player. The Bills should move on while he has value
