I just don’t think he’ll be there. I think the WRs with special traits are gonna go but it would be interesting to watch him with Allen for sure
-
The way the tea leaves are trending imo are Troy Franklin or Keon Coleman. I know that’s not popular around here nor am I saying they’ll be the pick at 28 but that’s the way it looking to me. There has been no indication of a private workout or top 30 visit with Legette to this point which doesn’t disqualify but I have to think they would bring in every WR they were severely interested in. Maybe it leaks out that they did bring him in

Yup also a good call on Devonshire have to assume Pitt is since PSU was a couple years ago
-
Good catch wasn’t sure if he was a FA or draft prospect

So running down the list: 1. Marshawn Kneeland DT WMU 2. Khristian Boyd DT UNI 3. MJ Devonshire CB Pitt 4. Tez Walker WR UNC 5. Trey Benson RB FSU 6. Brian Thomas Jr. WR LSU 7. Troy Franklin WR Oregon 8. Ryan Flournoy WR SEMU 9. Jordan Morgan OT Arizona 10. Xavier Worthy WR Texas 11. Maason Smith DT LSU 12. Andru Phillips CB Kentucky 13. Keon Coleman WR FSU 14. Laiatu Latu DE UCLA 15. Cooper DeJean CB/S Iowa 16. Ruke Orhorhoro DT Clemson 17. Qwan’Tez Stiggere CB CFL Is there anyone I’ve missed for top 30s? Looks like we know about half of our visits so far so 13 more guys to go.

He’s not lighter when it comes to playing weight. Murphy played at 308 and Newton at 295. Just because Newton packed on nearly 20 pounds for the draft process doesn’t mean they play at the same size. I highly doubt the Illinois website would me undersell Newtons weight like they do height for skill players
-
I see two absolute underthrows where Mitchell had his guy beat, an inaccurate pass at the goaline that is a walk in touchdown if its on target and and overthrow on a wide open WR who was actually busting it.
-
His production on tape is undeniable but he lacks a lot of the desirable traits that NFL teams want as a top guy. There are very few guys like Aaron Donald who make it at the level he did. Oliver was drafted 9th but I think most would agree he wasn't worth that pick 5 years in. He has been a good to great player at times but hasn't lived up to the elite potential. Its unfortunate but a lot of teams have minimums for their positions and if any guy doesn't hit them it doesn't necessarily mean their off the board but they do get dinged for it.
-
Smaller size. He’ll be the # 2 DT off the board just because Murphy is bigger
-
I know this is going to sound kind of crazy but I think I’d try him out at the Edge some in certain packages and bump him inside with Oliver for a NASCAR type package on passing downs. He’s athletic enough and could honestly say he could be better than Darius Robinson at DE. I just worry about his length. It’s a reach for sure but it’s how I would maximize his value. Give him 30% of Oliver’s snaps, 10-15% of the DE snaps and another 10-15% as a 1 Tech next to Oliver on passing downs

Oh no let’s everyone freak out cause the Bills are doing their due diligence on guys who may be there around 28 that isn’t a WR
-
With a draft that is short on draft able prospects I would expect a lot of G5 and FCS prospects to get drafted late this year with the idea that they can develop into something down the line

The Draft is a Total Crapshoot (Per Science)

Baltimore would be the one I would think of off the top of my head without doing research -
It doesn’t surprise me either that they want one but are they too late. They’re still going to be bad with a rookie. I would say they would get another year but they’re in NY where expectations are high and patience is low. If they win 6 games with Jones/Rookie they might be looking for new jobs after this season.

Randy Mueller - maybe only ~150 draftable players this year

I think both McCormick and Greenfield get drafted higher than their projections. McCormick I see going round 3 or 4. Greenfield is more a round 4 or 5 guy. Guy I know is the OC who actually coaches their OL but previously coached the TEs. Both are great kids but with Greenfield specifically he has prototypical size and played a lot of games at SDSU which doesn’t hurt. I think the question with him besides level of comp obviously is is he maxed out. He has prototypical size but he’s already 24 and usually when you take FCS guys you hope there is some upside. I just wonder how much of that there is in his game. I think he’s a swing tackle in the NFL who can become an average starting NFL tackle if he can develop his play strength more. That’s the big question with him. -

I have insight from a lot of people since I used to work in the industry in college football. I know scouts for the Jets, Texans, Bears. This doesn’t mean they are going to tell me about what they’re going to do but if I ask about a certain prospect they’ll share. I did this a couple of years ago when Melifonwu was coming out of Syracuse and people were projecting the Bills to take him in round 1. I didn’t see it but I asked around and the opinion I got was no shot he’s going in round 2 or 3. So it justified my evaluation. I watched tape on HS prospects and cut them up so our coaching staff could evaluate them. I have certain insights at schools such as Buffalo, Kansas, South Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Florida State(just because I’m a fan and watch them all the time). Does this mean I know everything, No, but I do have the resources to ask if I really need to about certain players. -
I think it’s a real possibility. They have spent a lot of time with him and people see DT as a huge hole because Wilkins left but they re-signed Seiler last year probably knowing full well they were going to let Wilkins go.
-
He’s a 2nd rounder and he’s a good route runner and he’s tough and can block. Probably best suited for the slot more than the outside
-
Your moving up 8 spots in the first and getting back a 3rd. I’ve constantly said however Beane has it ranked if there is a large gap in their player rankings at WR such as Thomas than a big gap or whoever their number 5 guy is and 6th guy than make the move. If they have 4-10 ranked somewhat similarly than by all means pick at 28 or move down
-
If it looks that easy it isn’t. I’ve learned that in Sports gambling. They know something we don’t. Someone speculated Mitchell would go top 20 on here a bit back. Someone is going to take a chance on his traits earlier than his tape warrants

Who are your favorite 5th-7th rd RB prospects?
gonzo1105 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love Schrader who was already mentioned. Don’t know if Ray Davis out of Kentucky makes it there but if he does that’s a great 5th round pick. Think he goes around 4 though -
From a trade chart perspective it’s actually a slight win for the Bills. I’m just spitballing as I think they would want Brian Thomas but is he there at 20? I mean small chance. The Dolphins have spent a lot of time with Xavier Worthy so could it be Buffalo trying to move ahead of them for Worthy? I actually don’t mind giving up 60 because it’s a very dead spot for the Bills when it comes to position of need. Sure you could say Safety but the Bills might be getting just as good a safety in the 3rd/4th as in the 2nd. My grading of safeties isn’t that far apart. I fully expect DL to be washed by the time 60 roles around and they might be able to get an offensive tackle but goal # 1 is to get a big play WR in this draft. With that said Fillipponi is kind of known as a blowhard at times down in the Pittsburgh area so this could be more conjecture than something he’s heard

To play devils advocate why would teams want day 3 picks to move down if their aren’t draft able players -

I think that’s why you saw Beane trading out so much in the 6th round last year. I think his board had run dry and with other teams willing to offer next years picks he took them. Might do the same this year if his board dries up again -
Yes I think its a very fair possibility. I had him at 26 in my first mock for that very reason going to Tampa. It would not surprise me if both Chop Robinson and Darius Robinson go in front of him but I do think a contender such as Buffalo or Baltimore could take a shot at him late in round 1 for sure.
