Suggestions on how to address the Bills sudden offensive struggles?
gonzo1105 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree this team doesn’t need just a WR. It needs a top flight WR. Where you’re getting it I have no idea. Davante Adams but he has a large contract and tons of capital. I don’t classify Jeudy as that guy. -
I mean he was the HC of a team who allowed his QB to check into a run play with no TOs on the last play. Yes I’m aware he’s the HC but he’s an offensive guy who can overrule anyone on his staff

You always take the Ws pretty or ugly but it sure won’t instill a lot of confidence

It was a hard hit in the hole but it wasn’t to the head or neck and he doesn’t look like he was twisted up? We talking whiplash or something here that tingled the neck/spine for the board to be out -

Last week the excuse was he was going against Ridley. Let’s see what the excuse will be facing one of the worst WR core in the NFL -

No no they didn’t. He was an extremely athletic kid who cant play Defensive back. I’ve said this since the day he was drafted. He was a 2nd rounder at best -
The Bills have not played a losing team this year
gonzo1105 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
No excuses, win the football games. At the end of the year no one is going to feel sad for the Bills playing a tougher schedule than the Dolphins when their a wild card team -
There was literally nothing wrong with that play by the DB

Not really, Murray as a # 1 pick to me has been a disappointment
-
I might be one of the few people who think Caleb Williams isn’t a generational prospect. He’s a bigger Kyler Murray. I get him being # 1 since Murray went 1 but I see him being a good NFL QB. I know a lot will disagree

Bills 37 Giants 13 -
My guess is its season ending IR not the 4 week variety.

He’s not ready, I already said that but why play a guy who had zero future here and a team that literally only signed him after Spector got hurt. Let Williams grow while the teams suck on the schedule and in 4 weeks you might have a guy who’s ready. but no instead of playing your investment let’s play the guy the Bills have cut 3 times in the last 12 months because he looked good against Russell Wilson 3 years ago
-
No, I don't care about what he showed in 20 plays. Players get better. Its literally the first action he's ever seen in the NFL. Things tend to slow for guys as they gain more experience and it will for him. AJ Klein provides nothing as a pass defender in a passing league. This team also needs to start developing younger guys on defense as our defense is old as hell right now. He's also going to be a hell of a player in the NFL if he's given the chance.
-
it needs to be a bit imo. I think he’s been a hell of a lot better in these last 4 games than at any point in his career including Sunday. You lead the league in turnovers year after year by playing free spirited. This team will most likely be 6-2 when they go into Cincinnati and is the next big test for him
-
It’s very much cost him games. He lost the Cinci AFC title game playing hero ball. The game the Bills dominated in Arrowhead was hero ball. The difference between Mahomes and Allen is he has a better OC and plays within Andy Reid’s system leading to a higher consistency rate of wins and Mahomes does hero ball less often

Whos giving up a starting caliber player under contract beyond this year for a guy who is flashing finally in year 4 and is also a Free Agent next year? Im with the either resign him or let him go in FA and get another pick and a cheap contract. If he keeps playing like this I want the Bills to resign him. They need to get younger on defense and Epenesa is still ascending
-
Yes, I like that despite being down he didn’t start playing hero ball. He also wasn’t the reason the Bills lost yesterday in comparison to the Jets game. Injuries, travel, WRs not catching the football and a defense who despite playing admirably couldn’t get off the field enough
-
Haha McDaniels “Just gotta keep making the smart throws and not make mistakes”. 3rd throw of the half picked on a terrible decision

Kaiir Elam is a liability any time he is on the field
gonzo1105 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s a hard choice my opinion is trade him while he still has some value but with the CB injuries you can’t really do that now. If they have no faith in him then you can’t play him. I guess you could hope the light turns on but this is a team trying to win a SB this year. I’d probably make a call to Carolina(I know, I know) for Donte Jackson to see if he’s available or make a minor trade for CB depth behind Benford and Jackson so Elam doesn’t have to be relied upon -

All coaches at all levels teach the same drills and techniques with few exceptions. Coaches are only as good as the players they are coaching. A wise older coach told me it’s amazing how great of coaches we are to everyone when we are winning championships. It’s also equally amazing how bad of coaches we become when we aren’t. We teach the same stuff year after year the only thing that changes is the ability of the player
