I had him as a favorite of mine. Check the timelines. He is a high motor UDFA out of Brown that is always around the football. Had his best year two years ago as a full time starter but went back to PT player this past year after the Rams drafted a ton of guys on the DL. Fits the Bills character player and smarts He is not a DT, he was an OLB for the Rams and he will be an edge player for the Bills. Reminds me of a poor man’s Andrew Van Ginkel in the way he plays. He’d played all over their DL both with his hand in the dirt and standing. The Bills are two for two on guys I recommended though for more money than I’d like

I’m still putting my cards on Michael Hoecht from the Rams. Good player who is always around the football, shouldn’t command top dollar and is still an ascending player. He’d be a nice Smoot replacement

McDermott and Beane both said Benford is okay and cleared protocol after his 2nd. They haven’t signed him because he’s really good and his contract is going to be massive. That’s a hard negotiation I’m sure because their Bills do try to get slightly under market value for their extensions and maybe Benford isn’t budging yet

I think he’s a nice mix of the two but he blocks and plays X. Cooper could play X but is known more of as a Z but the Bills will have to be interchangeable anyways because their going to get Keon Coleman on the field just like they did with Hollins. Maybe the idea is they play Palmer at Z here

Im on the fence. I would have liked to have gotten him cheaper but that’s the rate. I think he’s a piece to the puzzle and will help. I see him as the Hollins replacement with much higher upside ability. Hollins is most likely going to get a solid chunk of change as well but not as much because of the age difference
