Poor Nate Had Nothing To Do in Buffalo
RalphOP83 replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just so happen to work at a few bars downtown, and a bar quite close to the stadium. I was recently commenting to someone about how this years team seems like such a close knit group of guys, kinda like the old (kelly, bruce, thurman, andre, kent) days. I see my fair share of bills players....mostly at the bar close to the stadium. I know from experience that many of the players like to take the short trip up to toronto to enjoy their nightlife. As a 25 year old bar manager/bartender, I can say that unlike some cities...there is almost too much to do in buffalo. If you immerse yourself in this city, you will find there is somewhere to go or something to do every night of the week. I find that I see the same people at most functions, sporting events, bars etc. Some people make the best of this city, and some people think the grass is greener on the other side. I for one love buffalo. I know a handfull of people who have moved away seeking greener pastures, and either miss buffalo with all of their heart, or are planning their move back asap. One thing I will say is that there is no other place quite like buffalo. -
Here's the video:

Berman was at the tree, and did his "Swami" predictions in front of the statue of him and jim kelly. I wasnt there, but spoke to my brother who was, and he said berman was cool. I guess berman and kelly stuck around for a few drinks after the taping.

he will be at the big tree inn this afternoon

There may be recent posts about this, but I was too lazy to look. I am heading to miami and new york for both away games, and I was looking to see if there were any big tailgates. I have been to lauderdale for a few games, so I know my way around down there. The new york game is the one that is throwing me for a loop. I will head down to ny on a friday morning and stay all weekend. Just wanted to see if there were any festivities I dont know about. Thanks for your help. Go bills!

I just got tickets for Bills/Jets 12/14!

Heading to the game myself. I think i'm gonna head to mcfaddens for a while before the game. I hear this is the place to go. Looking forward to a good time. -
2 things: Robert spent the off season working hard. He cut down his body fat, and worked on his agility. Flame away, but I have heard whispers that hardy will end up being an antonio gates type tight end. This is not my opinion, it is just what i have heard. It was just my sources' opinion, but they are a good source. (He will obviously have to pack on some pounds)

I was most likely working that night. I've been working thursday - sunday nights there for around 3 yrs. I've taken a few nights off b/c of my other job, but I'm still there fridays and sundays. We get quite a contingent of past and present players, so things are always interesting. I've met quite a few celebrities while working there.

I do work there.

The big tree has great pizza and wings. Try the cajun or cajun bbq. The golden bbq wings are a favorite of many of the bills. Who knows, you may even see a few current or former bills when you are there.

Which Bills player parties hardest?

Jerry crafts still stops at one of the local establishments near the stadium. Last time I served him he said he was moving to florida shortly. Ruben brown has also been known to stop in. -
Which Bills player parties hardest?
RalphOP83 replied to smokinandjokin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The superbowl era bills partied the hardest. Anyone who stopped in at the big tree after one of their big games knows that for sure. That party continues everytime they're in town for an alumni event. -
Losing a >1,000yd rusher in this league means nothing. Over the past 2 to 3 years how many no namers have been plugged into teams and suddenly become big name running backs overnight? Rudi Johnson, Ruben Droughns, Frank Gore, Willie Parker, Thomas Jones, Joseph Addai etc. There is a plethora of good running back talent in the NFL. Lets just hope marv can find the talent.

Dont flame me for starting this thread, however i follow two other forums that both have thread saying the bills are making efforts to sign jamal lewis. Dont know the rules on this forum or i'd link the other bills forums. I'm sure it'd be easy for any of you to find.

Ruben does still live in Buffalo during the offseason.

Thanks for the reply, and I am definitely taking a lot of these things into consideration. I just had a few questions. The reason i used the bar (it was uncapitalized because i just filled my real bar's name in with a generic name) is because I am trying to get a marketing position that involves going to bars and doing promotions. I thought highlighting the bar would be important?? Also should i just cut out the real estate license?? The reason i added this was to show that I am willing to do formal training if necessary, however i do see how it makes me look like i'm all over the place. Is the objective a no no?? Through reading career oriented sites i've read both that you should include the objective, and to omit the objective???

Checked with my school, and they only give 15 min max. resume consultations. Spoke with a friend of mine who works at a pharmaceutical company. He got hired as a college grad temp?? Well they provide these hires with services to obtain further employment, inclding resume writing services. So I forwarded him my resume, and we'll see how it turns out. I would be willing to post it on the board but i dont know how.

I'm a college grad with decent work experience, but I really dont know where to begin when writing my resume. I have a resume done, but I feel that it is not as professional looking/sounding as it could be. I have a few solid job leads that i would like to jump on, but i would feel more confident with a better resume. Any repsonses appreciated.

I dont get much time to post on the board. I do a little reading when i get a chance. I never try to get much info out of the players because we try to keep the tree as a place they can hang out without being subject to questions and whatnot. I've learned that once the game is over they want to come out, have a few drinks, and let loose. A simple "good game, whatcha drinkin" works.

I am brian. Glad to see you guys had a good time. Hope to see you next year.

Looks like you were at the big tree. Good chance i was your friendly bartender. Lee has been known to stop in for a drink now and then.

Any of Andre's teammates in town ??
RalphOP83 replied to gsurdam's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Andre came in the Big Tree on thursday night. Thurman was in this afternoon. I'm pretty sure a bunch of other players are in town from the whispers i've heard.
