  1. A lot of people are saying that we should get a return on our investment by trading him now, as opposed to receiving nothing next year when he walks. What you have to realize that what we DO get by not trading is a season of solid play, better than anything we could get for him. So really it's not that we're getting nothing from not trading him - we're getting a season of Nate Clements. What would you rather? A second round draft pick like the one in the Surtain trade, or 2005 with Nate?
  2. No, it's Diplomacy. The greatest and best board game ever created. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=ah/prod/diplomacy If you're interested in playing online, go to www.dip2000.com

  4. You're from Renfrew? Neat. I'm from Ottawa. Good to see there's a nice representation of Canadian Bills fans.
  5. Well, you know, I would support trading half the team for the #6 pick to take Mike Williams if it weren't for one seriously MAJOR snag in that plan: We'd have two Mike Williamses. What would we do for jerseys? Print their middle initials? It would be insanity! Don't do it Donahoe! Don't!
  6. If it's just for the #9 pick, there's no way I'd do this. Except for possibly Rolle, there's no cornerback in this draft as good as Clements. However, there are some who have the potential to get there. For this reason, I think that the best option would be to draft a cornerback in the second round this year and cultivate him while Clements plays out his contract. Then, we let Clements go and draft another cornerback in the first or second round of next year's draft (depending on field strength). This gives us 3 young cornerbacks (including McGee) to fiddle around with, and no huge top-5 salary being paid. Of course, it could be a bit of a downgrade, but it would let us sign some of the other free agents we'll have next year. That's my two cents.
  7. Three years ago I went with my father to see my first Bills game. I would have been 15 then. It was late in the season and there really wasn't that much to cheer for because they were locked out of the playoffs. It wasn't against San Diego, and the Bills won 17-10 or something like that. But in the fourth quarter, the Chargers played Flutie, and the crowd went nuts (they had been chanting for him before). As a former Torontonian, I was pretty pumped to see my favourite CFL team's superstar live in the NFL. He didn't do too hot, but hey - it was still cool. Also, my Dad bought me a Bledsoe jersey, which was last week replaced with a McGahee jersey EDIT: Hehe check that. It WAS against San Diego. Whoops.
  8. But I'll be there yelling "OY GEVALT!!"
  9. I could run backwards with both legs tied behind my head while reciting O Canada in German and beat Drew Bledsoe in a 40 yard dash.
  10. Well I'm glad you're excited for football. And I gotta give it to you, if Jesus Christ is indeed playing for the Patriots, then I suppose they might just cream the Bills. Oh and I think you mean "their," not "there." They're you go.
  11. I don't know though. Any time the Patriots sign, well, anyone, you gotta figure they know something we don't. He's going to be their No.3 WR, and he hasn't lived up to his drafted expectations, so there's no pressure; and if there's any team that can magically create good players out of nothing, it's the Pats. I'm no Patriots fan, but I still wouldn't write this one off. What was the last truly bad acquisition, high draft pick or FA, that the Patriots made? I'm still kinda scared.
  12. I hear ya! Lenny's better.
  13. That's amazing. It seems like just a few weeks ago that Clayton was saying the Bills were less than a million under? Where has the money come from?
  14. You know, I'd have to disagree. The Patriots' dynasty is not built around Tom Brady. I simply refuse to believe that he is much more responsible for their success than their starting left guard (that's an exaggeration, but not a very big one). The Superbowls came to New England because of that good ol' cliche of working together as a team. That, and good coaching. If you ask me, there's no way they should pay him that kind of money. He is NOT a franchise player. In fact, if you ask me, there really is no such thing as a franchise player. What was the last Superbowl won by a team that only had one or two superstars? Tom Brady should not be paid Manning- Vick-type money, simply because NO player is worth that much, especially with a cap in effect. The Superbowls are obviously proof that he is a reliable and clutch player. And he deserves his fair share. But come on. That's a little much if you ask me. (By the way, I'm a new member to TSW. I've read the board for a while now, and figured I might as well join and start posting. You guys have a great site going here.)
