I'm actually a student at McGill University in Montreal. Like you, my minor is in Mathematics, and I'm sort of "in the zone" because I'm taking Calc 3 for the month of May. Talk to me in August and I can't count my toes. Where did you go to school?

What I was referring to was not that you're taking the limit of B/(2B), but rather the limits of B/y and (2B)/y as y approaches 0, which ARE infinity. Degrees or not, that's the case.

But you're not dividing y by y. You're dividing B and 2B, which presumably are real, non-zero numbers by y as y approaches zero if you'd rather look at it as a limit. This limit (the limit as y approaches 0 of B/y) is infinity, not 1.

The flaw is when you say each guest only spent 9 dollars. They actually spent 10, and got one back from the hotel. There's a difference. In the way you added up, you forgot to account for the fact that those three dollars still exist as part of the original 30, it's just that they lie in the hotel guests' hands. However, that totals 31. The truth is, you have to SUBTRACT one for the bell boy taking it, not add. It has been totally removed from the hotel-guest transaction, leaving you with the original 30 dollars.

You've got it mostly right, but the problem is that it IS an infinite series, meaning that it never ends, so you can't have a (-1) at the end. The real answer is that (1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + ...) does not equal zero. It's a divergent series, meaning it doesn't have a sum, so the real flaw is in the second line. But close enough

You're dividing by (A-B) on both sides at one point. You can't do that, because A-B=0, and you're essentially saying that 2 times infinity equals 1 times infinity. How about this one: 0 = 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + ... 0 = 1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + 1 - ... 0 = 1 - (1 - 1) - (1 - 1) - (1 - 1) - ... 0 = 1

I agree. The draft is kinda soft. The fact that my offensive core consists of Peyton Manning, Shaun Alexander, Tony Gonzalez, and Hines Ward is kind of off. I'm sure many of you have teams like this. On the other hand, I'm 1-3 so far in my first season.

Well folks, I'm here to defend my precious Leafs. Granted, some of the fans are downright retarded, but there are similar ones for every team. I'm not going to start an argument about which team is better, as for the most part, it's a moot point (thank you, Misters Goodenow and Bettman). I live in Ottawa and go to school in Montreal, so keeping my loyalty can be painful, in both the physical and mental senses. I watched game 7 of this past year's episode of the Sens-Leafs saga at a friend's house, and after Joe Nieuwendyk scored two from the exact same point in the first period on "St. Patrick," as he is no longer called in O-Town, I had the same smartass smile on my face that every Leafs fan in every Sens-saturated bar or basement in Ottawa had. It felt good. What I'm saying is, the Leafs are good. Sure, some fans are dumb, but there are those of us in the "diaspora" who, as the fans of the most-hated franchise in professional hockey and one half of the current most vicious rivalry therein, have to endure quite a bit of abuse. I wear my jersey all over Montreal and Ottawa. Sure, I get the finger, but at least in Ottawa, I also get the last laugh. In conclusion, although Tie Domi, for whom the letters of his name can be rearranged to spell "Me Idiot" is on their roster, the Leafs aren't all that bad. And their fans CERTAINLY aren't. -
Molson: I. AM. (sort of) CANADIAN. --------------------- No big loss. If any of you are ever in Montreal, there's a restaurant called Biere et Compagnie, which has a beer list in the triple digits. There's this one beer that's 26 bucks.

But I doubt Parrish will start as the slot receiver. He'll probably be in there for third-and-longs when they need four wide-outs. I think Reed will still be the No.3, unless he has a SEVERELY smelly year, at which point I suppose Parrish might step in. Or Aiken. -

For two reasons: 1) It's Losman's first season ever as a starter. He needs a mentor, and I think Holcomb will be much better at that than Matthews. 2) I seriously doubt that JP will start all 16 games. Holcomb is proven to be a clutch quarterback who can step in when needed, but is not necessarily great in the long term. I get the feeling he'll pull a few games out of the wreckage. -

As Corp000085 mentioned, drinking water before you go to bed is the best and, well, only way to cure a hangover. All a hangover is, is dehydration. That's it. Alcohol will do that to you. So drinking plenty of water (I usually have two full glasses) will pretty much fully prevent sickness.

A few friends of mine and I are planning a road trip from Ottawa (yes, it's Canada's capital) to Buffalo to see the Bills play the Falcons. That, or down to Boston on October 30 to see them play the Patriots at night. I've heard some talk about how it's hard to get tickets to Bills games, but I was wondering if you really do need to know someone, or to get them through eBay, etc. I was wondering the same for Patriots tickets. Also, when do they usually go on sale? I know the Patriots tickets go on sale May 21, but buffalobills.com doesn't say anything.
