Kelly listed by SI as the best 14th pick ever
clownments22 replied to Phil Indablanc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that's what i was thinking. -
what does that mean?
-
wow, seems a bit unnecessary. i would think 4 and 2 would have been appropriate. that's just rediculous.

bad link -
if the price is right, i dont' see why the heck not. i don't think ricky will be as good as he once was for whoever gets him, but i think he will be very good and he could be great. i think it all fits together nicely if only management and some fans can see past some of the past problems that i don't think will be problems anymore.

all fine and good, but the real question: do they have the 6th largest fan base? i don't think so. also, they're a young franchise, so all they have to base on in terms of their history is their X number of losing seasons. what is it now, 5? 6? so even texans fans can't complain cause they've never been winners.

Media Bias against the Bills
clownments22 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BINGO try thinking outside of buffalo for a second. do we deserve any respect? NO. in the free agency period there's only one thing that buys respect, since there aren't any plays being made, and that's big name talent. all we've done is let big name players go, namely 4 of them, and haven't had any big name talent coming in. oh yeah and corey dillon basically told everyone he wasn't coming to buffalo cause they're losers. that didn't really help. -
I think aaron isn't 1.) fast enough in the open field 2.) hard hitting enough 3.) good enough in pass coverage to play linebacker. Take your pick. He has a very fast start, is strong, but not lower your shoulder and plow over the huge FB/RB strong, and he himself admits that his weakest area is pass coverage. I don't see our one pro bowler at a legitimate position over the last two years making that switch.

Any good punters in the draft?
clownments22 replied to generaLee83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
please tell me this was started as either a joke, because you lost a bet with some other poster, or we are starting the "tard of the week" award up again and you want to be the first winner. -
AGREED. i also agree with many other posters here that ricky has only really messed up once, that being the time he quit right before training camp, i think he will be very solid for whatever team takes him, and i wouldn't mind that team being the bills.
-
nothing new there, of course, but i agree with you fellas, good to see he's not against everything the bills have done. in fact, he didn't seem to think any moves we made were bad, he just kind of made it seem like we'll have to wait and see if the moves play out for the better, which is exactly how i feel.

Some thoughts from pats fans
clownments22 replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
not bad posting by the pats fans. in general i'd say i agree with a lot of their thoughts, aside from their stance on losing fletcher/spikes/clements and how that is going to result in having a bad defense. although i do think we're going to have a bad defense, i don't think it's from losing big name players i think it's will more likely be from not adding a serious run stuffing DT. -
Anyone here what jabari green said on the radio yet?
clownments22 replied to BILLS #1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
buffalolips- great post and summary of the interview. i don't know anything about jabari greer off of the playing field, as i don't about a lot of the backups and special teams guys cause the only interviews i get to hear/see are the ones that bbills.com posts. so thanks. is there a place online that frequently posts these radio interviews? cause i know of a few times where guys have put up links to interviews that would be seemingly similar to this one. -
Lee Evans Hall of Fame Talent
clownments22 replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this is one thing i hate about the hall of fame. you don't get in if you're the best player, you get in if you play on the best team. hence, for example, tom brady is a future is a hall of famer, but is he the most talented quarterback in the league right now? NO. but he did play on the best team in the league, for at least 3 years anyway. -
i for one found his wit to be funny. not necessarily cause i thought it was true, just cause it was witty. and since you're obviously a fan of rome: WAR michael turner in a bills uni WAR the bills having as good a chance of drafting AP as they do Calvin Johnson WAR the dean's wit WAR clownments22 winning the TBD smackoff 2007 LATE
-
well then according to your post, Dan Benton=TOTAL ASS there's no way he came to buffalo if for no other reason, than for this one: bbills.com didn't put anything up about it. they always have an article when free agents visit.

MARV....please trade up for AP.....
clownments22 replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i will be willing to bet all kinds of money we won't trade up far enough to draft AP. and i can't say as though i'm all that broken up about it. from what i hear AP is very injury prone (never even made it through a full college season)and he tries to run people over a lot (which may have worked for him in college but won't in the pros). he might be big, fast and strong but so is MT. so MARV....please DON'T trade up for AP..... -

early vegas line - according to poster on BB msg board
clownments22 replied to Lothar's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i'm not a gambler, but i definitely think it's safe to say that this really is how everyone sees us right now. many members of the national media consistently call us the biggest loser in free agency so far, and have been saying that for a while now (and for all we know, depending on how things play out that might be true). so why would the vegas line say we're going to improve upon our 7-9 team of last year with all our "loser" free agent signings/releases. i like all the moves marv has made so far this off season, because i think they could lead to winning in 2008 and beyond, but so far it doesn't really seem like he's setting us up for success this year. and by that i mean trading away players (mcgahee and spikes) that give us the best chance to win now, because, i'm sorry, but i don't care who we draft as their replacements, they're not going to be an upgrade for the 2007 season. we have a young offense that i think could be very good this year, and an even younger defense that i think is not going to be very good this year, so i am not at all surprised people think we'll be 5-11, and i'd be lying if i said "it would surprise me if we go 5-11". that being said i'm hoping with all hope that we shock some people this year and get this team turned around in a big way. -
I wish I could agree with you guys. The only reason you can say you won't miss Takeo is because you won't miss the way he played in 06. If you had written "we won't miss fletcher and spikes's play of last year" i would agree, but i think he's gonna be back really strong this year and the eagles are going to cash in on his production big time. The only way that I can look at this as a positive is to consider that Takeo wasn't as effective in our new defensive scheme. I think he's gonna put up monster sack numbers with Philadelphia this year with the way they blitz.

thanks for the hot tip! i am now the future owner of a nice lee evans jersey, since my clements and fletcher jersies are now useless. again, thanks for posting.

5 all-time best moments, 5 all-time worst
clownments22 replied to John Gianelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i was in first through fourth grade for the super bowl years, so even though i watched the superbowls i wasn't a real fan. so for some of the moments that i consider myself a true fan: best: 31-0 new england TKO sack and forced fumble for TD of brady on the first play of the season naked dog leg winning last second td against jacksonville OT win against chicago in 02, that i was there for training camp 04 getting JP, lee, and willis all to sign my hat worst: loss to pittsburgh 04 home run throw back loss to dolphins in 05 after 21-0 first quarter lead losing antoine winfield (i was a huge fan) enduring the ridiculing in elementary school after SB losses
