To be honest, having watched both play over the years, it's the 'ol eyeball test. I felt supremely confident when Warner had the ball in his hands. His accuracy and quick reads were uncanny. McNabb is a good QB, needless to say, and was very good at times. I often waited for him to make a poor read or throw behind a receiver. I just don't trust him in a big spot.

He would have been far less accurate then Warner, that I can promise you.

I've never seen the middle of a defense so open, so often than in this past SB. There were no adjustments made. It was shocking, actually.

New coaching staff plus new D being implented (new players?) plus other pieces needed (OL, WR, TE) plus bringing in McNabb who would be learning a new system doesn't mean we pick up where we left off. Last years successes(?) have no bearing on this team next year just as last years failures(!) won't. We'd essentially be blowing up both sides. They'd have to come together simultaneously and ahead of schedule, IMO, for us to be successful that quickly. I just don't see it.

I love LE, but he'll be constantly doubled as there is no viable option in this offense as we see it. Our D personnel isn't exactly 3-4 ready. All the Packers had to do was focus on the D side of the ball. We're behind the curve on both sides of the ball. I understand McNabb would be an upgrade, but we're not ready for him. Minny would be should Favre retire. Not us. We're not that close.

Taking McNabb out of his comfort zone (Reid and his offense) in addition to learning a new offensive set tells me he wouldn't be nearly as effective moving forward. I don't believe that by just plugging him we'd benefit from his previous success. It's not like everything else in place. Implementing a new defense will also hinder immediate success.

I agree with your assessment, but why would an organization give up such a good pick (2/3) for such a slug? I don't see anything special in him whatsoever. Compound this with the off field escapades, I'd let him walk for less.

I disagree. There is no way in hell the Saints can stop the Colt offense from anything they want to do. Whereas, Mr. Brees needs to show me something. He looked less than spectacular against the Vikes. I wonder about him in a big spot. We'll see, but I like the Colts BIG in this game.
