2020 NFL Draft Round 2 and 3 Discussion.

Gandy-Golden won’t last anywhere near that long. -
Happy 70th Birthday, Joe Ferguson!
BuffaloBob replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Much better than my inaugural season experience as a first time Bills fan. Jack Kemp was QB, but got hurt in training camp and was out for the season. I got to watch a never-ending parade of hopefuls cut down with injury, including Tom Flores, Kay Stephenson and Dan Darragh, ending with the understandably reluctant but still a gamer, Ed Rutkowski. Before Joe was drafted in 1973, there was James Harris and Dennis Shaw, and all losing seasons. Ah memories. -
I don't hate them. But I think the shoulder bars would look better with silver trim around the colored bars so that the contrast isn't as stark.

Aiyuk undergoes surgery: could he fall to us?

I just watched the “Final Cut” a few days ago while social distancing. Awesome movie. And Rutger was awesome in the whole final sequence as he hunts down Deckard. Sean Young was stunning. -
You’re right. It was December 26, 1993 and we clinched a playoff birth. It was just two weeks before the Raiders game, which I watched in my cozy living room in Hermosa Beach, CA. ? “The first measured in at nine degrees, but the wind chill put the temperature well below zero. Neither offense was particularly adept at dealing with the weather, and in a low-scoring game like that, a big difference in special teams can play a huge difference. Steve Christie was solid as always in the cold, nailing three field goals while his Jets counterpart, Cary Blanchard, missed three that would have made the difference. The win clinched a playoff spot for the Bills for the sixth straight year.” I must be conflating the discussion that happened with the Browns fans with that game. It was also really cold for that game, but was a different game for sure. Old age is setting in. ?

That was one cold sumbeeyatch!! Wasn’t it like 9 degrees at kickoff and 6 degrees when it ended?? The parking lots were like sheets of ice. My brother did one of those legs slide out from under and he hit the ground hard. It was the season after the Browns had moved to Baltimore and there was a group of Browns fans there with a sign outside the stadium. We commiserated with them for a while before going in. I’ve been to games since the Rockpile in the late 60’s and that was the coldest one I’ve ever been, too. Me and my “known him since grade school” buddy made it to the bitterly cold end.

Chase Claypool- I know you want to talk about him

And he’s also a Senior with three full seasons as a starter. This brain trust likes seniors for their maturity and experience. -
This happens for most humans at first when making drastic changes in approach. Even if not consciously, it’s easy for the brain to revert back to what you knew best until those new habits become completely integrated. I also think part of the problem is simply information overload. How much can one learn and integrate as habit over a short time frame, both physically and mentally. Josh played football for a rural farm town high school. So did I. Our head coach was our social studies teacher who was a former marine who was more worried about if your hair could be seen from the back of the helmet than what kind of plays we were running. Josh then played JUCO football his first year, red shirted at Wyoming the next and then played two seasons at Wyoming. I doubt Josh got much in the way of structured coaching regarding his footwork, his delivery, his touch, etc. Wyoming is not Louisville, USC or Oklahoma. I’m sure the Bills never planned for him to even play his first season and he got thrown in and had to use his instincts and sheer athletic ability to overcome his less than optimal mechanics, and his limited knowledge of reading defenses, etc. He actually did pretty well, but he needed a complete overhaul to be successful in the NFL. I think his lack of success this season on the long ball has a lot to do with info overload. His makeover into a timing passer in the shorter routes probably required all of his capacity for learning and doing. His long ball was probably greatly de-emphasized in favor of the higher priority of making him over to operate as an NFL pocket passer. I believe, with his work ethic, that he will take another significant step, by not only reinforcing what he’s already learned, but also refining his touch on deeper routes. I think he’s come a long, long way, and he will continue that this year. Kid’s never had anything handed to him, and he will put in the hard work necessary to reach his potential. We all will be very happy.

Is Josh Allen A Good Quarterback??? (Good Film Breakdown)
BuffaloBob replied to Scorp83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand the frustration, but he is a rookie that was drafted more on his physical potential than his pass blocking polish and huge receiving numbers. I see him a lot like Josh. He needs work on the fundamentals this offseason and needs to work out the dropsies, but I expect him to take a huge step next season. In the meantime, he will continue to make some amazing plays interspersed with some really frustrating fails. -
Cole Beasley not being utilized right.

Does that mean he's only being used left??? -
First Time I have been concerned with Josh Allen
BuffaloBob replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And this started with our just previous possession where we ran it straight into the middle of the defense three straight times and punted it back to them. I HATE playing not to lose. I don’t mind running on first down there, although I think play action would have been the better call. But they basically conceded to running clock and punting. -

John Brown groin injury - expected to play vs Dolphins

I think he hurt at home against New England Or possibly before. I noticed that he seemed fine when he was running routes, but seem to walk and jog gingerly between plays. -

Kind of like Law School. And yes, I can say that because I went. However, I will withhold any information regarding how much my own personal douche was enhanced by it. ? -
Bills fans table breaking needs to calm down

I think it was sort of disbelief. When I saw it the first time, I was sort of just sitting there waiting for him to slowly start to get up. Took a little of time for reality to seep in and realize he ain't getting up. -
Did you know that at that trial evidence was introduced that McDonalds had a policy that their coffee was to be served only about 20 degrees under boiling, specifically to discourage refills to increase profits? They found that if they did that, it took so long for it to cool off that most people left with it and didn’t get a refill. Did you also know that the elderly woman who suffered the burns was not driving, nor was her son (he parked), when she tried to put sugar and cream in her coffee? Remember those super flimsy styrofoam cups of the past? She put it between her knees so she could tear the packets and cream (no stable place to rest it in the car) and she squeezed in reaction to dropping something and that flimsy cup collapsed, the lid flipped off and the coffee sloshed into her lap and crotch at about 190 degrees plus. She suffered 3rd degree burns on her genitalia and had to spend several days in the hospital because they had to do skin grafts. She contacted McDonalds and requested only that they pay her out of pocket expenses for her treatment, and they refused. Only after several attempts to request reimbursement of OOP expenses did she decide to sue. What really PO’d the jury is that it turned out that scores of such instances were occurring and McD’s was well aware and they did nothing about it. They could have simply lowered the temp of coffee for the drive thru. They could have provided sturdier cups based on that notice. And they could have reimbursed her for her expenses. They did none of that. All in the name of profit. Sometimes plaintiffs really PO juries With their callous behavior and juries feel the need to punish. After reading the evidence in the case opinion, I am with the jury. Sorry for the slight derail, but you distracted me. ?

Josh Allen in concussion protocol: Update cleared 10/5

You used the article “the.” That is not a generic reference to a position. And I would assume that even disparaging a political office is still politics. But sure, sure. At some point you will hear from a Mod. Believe me, I know. ? -
