  1. I SEE your point!
  2. You may want to check out this thread Objective sack statisticsbefore drawing any conclusions. The reality is that there are many QBs who would be considered mobile by most fans and they have nearly as many sacks as Drew this year. And as these stats show, overall there are many mobile QBs who are sacked more often than Drew. And then there is Manning, who is far from mobile, who is the least sacked per dropback of currrent QBs. As some have pointed out, Manning is successful because the Colts have spent the money, draft picks etc. on their offense, inlcuding their O-line. But their defense has suffered as a result. For all of their points scored and regular season wins, they have yet to get past the NFC Championship game. It's tough striking that balance.
  3. No actually it was that year off in 2003!! Or was it the whopping 23 starts and 29 games played........IN HIS ENTIRE FREAKIN' 12 year CAREER!! Or perhaps it was those reps he got against 2s and 3s in a quarter of a preseason game running a highly limited piece of the offense! Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket! Just make a change. Don't think about the efficacy of it. Just do it for change's sake. Run up the white flag. Let the team know you've given up the season after 2 games that could have easily been wins. GREAT IDEA!
  4. Habes, are you from Eden?
  5. Harrumph! HARRUMPH! HARRUMPH!!! We'll see how the Patsies offense runs against a very good defense. So far, they've played the Colts and the Cards. If we can stop the run as we have so far, and can force a few turnovers, this game will be very competitive. And then when the O finally breaks out...............................! 24-20 Bills!
  6. BB, he said toeing the line, NOT lining the toe!!
  7. Thank-you! I was wondering that myself!!
  8. Yes and of course, if it was a Fox poll, it the choices for the poll would be: Bush The Republican The Guy with the Monkey Face The Liar Someone whose name doesn't rhyme with fairy
  9. I agree, Oakland was not as good, but in fairness I still think his teammates had much to do with that. He really took a shot with that one that made him see yellow. And he even admitted after that that he was not setting his feet and missed some passes until he could regain his composure. I can't really blame him for that. Most of us would would be lucky to get up from a shot like that let alone go back into the game. I think that shot he took had a lot to do with any indecisiveness as well. It's awfuly tough to make determinations one way or the other after just two games. The shame is that we could have just as easily won these two games and been 2-0 as we figured things out, as opposed to 0-2. But I still believe Drew can be a very successful QB in the right situation. The key is for the entire offense to improve and to stop the dumb mistakes. Yes, and impatience as well. This offense needs a little time. Unfortunately, time is of the essence in a 16 game season, so a little time is all you ever get. I believe that if Mularkey and staff can keep these guys working hard and holding together through this fan/media sh itstorm, they will put a very good run together. Actually, I'd like to think of myself as dogged or determined, but OK, I'll try not to be a meany!
  10. Great point! I saw this last night and thought the exact same thing! Needless to say, I didn't vote because there was no option for me. LOL!
  11. No probs. I've been guilty of losing myself in the middle of a thread on occasion! That's why I made sure not to attack YOUR intelligence! LOL! I guess I am just so fed up with the blame-game that goes on after every game on this board. There is no patience, everything is knee-jerk. And I think Drew has taken way too much abuse from this board, fans in general and especially the media. The reality is, the guy has actually improved his play in many repsects so far, but the offense generally still has not gotten enough traction. He has contributed to some of that, but he is also constrained by the performances of his coaches and teammates as well. I just wish there was a little more insight and objectivity around here sometimes.
  12. I believe I recall RJ saying the same thing at least once. I agree with PIZ, I think it is a sign of a concussion. That's why I love these guys who B word and moan over Drew shorting some of his passes afterward. I doubt anyone would not be rattled after taking a hit like that! Most if not all of these guys would be soiling their shorts if they took a hit like that, that is IF they could actually have gotten up and gone back in afterward!
  13. Totally agree. And aren't those guys upstairs at the mercy of what the network is showing as to replays?
  14. What he failed to mention is that he'd being gulping masking agents all the way to the john! LMAO!
  15. After reading this post, I am not sure you were following along closely enough. If you are referring to Mr. Opie-Wan, who at least since I can remember has posted virtually no thoughts other than "Drew sucks and is solely responsible for the demise of the play of our beloved Buffalo Bills," then at least you are correct with respect to whom that comment was directed. And then to that I have to say HUH?! If being the greatest poster this board has ever seen only entails posting Drew sucks posts, then we ought to bring Spiked Lemonade back and worship him like a god! If by some chance you are referring to McBride, than clearly you must follow along more closely. And although I appreciate McBride's hard work in putting those stats together, he does fail to take the additional step of analyzing this season's two games in view of his all-important stat with which he is clearly trying to demonstrate Drew's shortcommings. Had he done so, it actually reveals a postive trend for Drew. But that of course is not consistent with the agenda of so many on this board who are desperate to support their negative opinions of Drew. And of course, Obie-Wan did attempt to extend McBride's stats to this year, except he cited stats that were oranges to McBride's apples and led to conclusions that Drew sucks even worse this year, a point that OW was, as always, trying to make. My comment was NOT an attack on his intelligence, but rather an attack on his so-called viable statistics and his use thereof. It was clear to me and I think it should have been to him that the stats he cited were not consistent with those cited by McBride. And without the explanation that came later they are wierd because they were so clearly inconsistent and should not have been used in the comparative manner in which they were. Once again, they were cited to further demonstrate Drew's failure as a player so far this year in comparison to his career numbers, which was not in reality true because it was an apples to oranges comparison. He might be a good person, but I am sick to death of the "Drew sucks, blame him for everything, run him out of town" agenda that permeates this board with the support of Patsy trolls who are as obsessed with it as these members of our board. When stats are cited to support this agenda, I expect them to at least be a fair comparison of those stats. This was not the case and I do not respect that. It is not a disagreement over conclusions, but the use of inconsistent stats to reach those conclusions that I condemn here. Well if being fed up with attacks on our starting QB, particularly when they involve at the very least a misrepresentative and at the worst a disinegenuous use of stats to give their conclusions an aire of legitimacy is being mean, then I guess not only am I an apologist but a mean person to boot!
  16. I did try to go the site, and it the link would not take me their. The fact that this guy uses sacks as failed pass attempts should have been revealed at the time you quoted the YPA stat of 5.3. Otherwise, it is disingenuous to quote that stat when all of the relevant YPA stats quoted earlier do NOT include sacks in their YPA. You took a swipe at Drew (as you are want to do at every possible opportunity) by comparing that 5.3 YPA number (now revealed as oranges) as being lower than his already mediocre historical stats (meaning those apples originally quoted above by McBride). This is what I took exception to and has nothing to do with the net passing yardage differential to which you refer. My point is that you and others love to bash Drew at every possible opportunity and when you do so withs stats, you aren't even above-board when doing so. Perhaps you didn't realize at first that he had included the 8 sacks as attempts, which the stats that McBride cited did not. But even in that case, at the very least you demonstrate your bias and zealous desire to constantly prove your opinion that Drew sucks. And if you did know that, then your little dig at Drew regarding his current YPA being well-below the YPA figures that had already been cited by McBride was knowingly misrepresentative. Either way, as I posted above, it ignores the fact that comparitively speaking, his YPA numbers when comparing apples to apples demonstrates an actual improvement over last year and approaches the levels of his first pro bowl season with the Bills. And as I said before, I guess providing a meaningful set of data that should provide any objective observer with a reason to feel positive about Drew's performance so far this year makes me an apologist.
  17. Yeah, and the difference between the largest and the second largest being $57 Million, enough to fund the payrolls of any of 14 major league teams, including the Milwaukee Brewers twice LOL!
  18. Oh, and some other interesting notes on the all-import YPA stat. Drew is 17th out of 34 QBs at 7.02, and is only a little over a tenth of a yard off of the #12 guy Matt Hasselbeck, whose team is 2-0. Moreover, his YPA is currently better than Jake Delhomme, Steve McNair, Brett Favre, Mark Brunell (5.17), Trent Green (5.47), Jeff Garcia (4.92) and Brad Johnson (4.61) to name a few. Some more interesting tidbits based on the supposed insight this stat is supposed to provide. The guy with the best YPA? David Carr of Houston at a wopping 9.9 YPA! And what is his team's record? Why 0-2! Some other interesting stats: Mr. Mobile Daunte Culpepper has been sacked 6 times in two games. I'm sure none of those were credited to Mr. McKinney the guy we should have drafted. LOL! And a team with more yards lost to sacks than the Bills? Try the Tennessee Titans and Mr. McNair with 53 yards. Oh yeah, and one last thing. Let's bench Drew for Shane Mathews ROTFLMAO! In 12 years, he's started a wopping 22 games, played in 29, wasn't even on a roster in 2003 and his career YPA is wopping 5.64! A stat that has steadily declined every year he's been in the league (2002 YPA = 5.28). You nancies crack me up. BTW, thanks for bringing this all-important stat to our attention. It would seem Drew is actually improving his play at least as indicated by this stat.
  19. Your citation of these weird stats seem rather disinegenuous, but then again, why would I be suprised by that. First, I don't know what site this is you've provided a link for, but it doesn't work. Nevertheless, according to both NFL.com and ESPN.com, Drew's YPA in two games this year is 7.02 (30-50 for 351 yards), not the 5.3 you cite. and therefore actually higher not lower than his historical average! Moreover, his YPA so far this year is not far off the YPA he had for his pro bowl year of 2002, which was 7.15. BTW, his YPA is actually almost a full yard greater than it was last season, when it was 6.07. But of course, I'm sure that I am apologizing now! LOL! Moreover, because of the Moorman pass, the "team" YPA is actually 7.35. Even if one takes out the 52 yards lost in sacks (which is not, BTW, how the stats McBride cited were calculated and would thus be comparing apples to oranges), that still makes Drew's YPA 6 and the team's 6.3. So I have no idea where you are getting your stats but they do not appear to be accurate. Did you hunt down a source that would make Drew look as bad as you want to portray him?? According to the two sites that I would consider far more likely to be accurate, the Bills offense is 11th in the league in YPA. Now compare that to our rushing YPA of 2.7, 31st in the league where only Miami is worse at 2.3. But yes, I know, the anti-Drew theory is that this is HIS fault for not making enough plays to beat the blitz. Yeah whatever! So when we look at the REAL stats, one can easily see that Drew's all-important YPA has actually improved significantly over last year thus far (approaching his pro bowl year average). His completion percentage is up over last season to 60% (once again approaching that of his 2002 pro bowl season). Now of course, if one were an "apologist," one might even find this encouraging. But if one were a basher, one would simply find stats that make one's point regardless of their accuracy.
  20. You know, it's funny but I didn't see anything apologetic about his post. Can you please quote the part where he apologizes for something or somebody? Thank you very much.....
  21. Yes, I neglected to put in the quote and edited it in later. I guess you were too damn quick for me.
  22. You mean, like when they had 4th and goal from the half yard line and couldn't punch it it??
  23. As I mentioned in my post above, I heard him interviewed last night and he said he got a good deal of guaranteed salary, and I think he said a 5 year deal where the last year was probabaly more thn the Jets will want to pay, at which time he wil either need to negotiate, move on or retire. Here are his salaries for his contract: 2004 660000.00 2005 3340000.00 2006 4300000.00 2007 4070000.00 2008 6240000.00 Here is a blurb from KFFL indicating that $6 Million of it is guranteed over the first three years, and that the total for the first three years is $9 Million. I'm not sure exactly what the advantage is of guaranteeing it as salary rather than bonus, except that they don't have to pay it all up front and it only counts against the cap in the year it is paid. Needless to say, this is not a vet min contract, although it is a vet min cap hit for the first year.
