  1. Ahhh, good to see the Mike Williams bashers/McKinney dicksuckers are still out notwithstanding Mike's much improved play and McKinney's STILL medicore play. I was beginning to think it was only the Drew bashers who would continue their quest in spite of reality! Oh, and I'm glad to see the old LT is harder to play than RT theory is still getting its play. As Kelly Dog rightly points out: The reason that the tackles that are drafted higher and paid more are LT's is NOT because it is the harder postion, it is because it is the MORE IMPORTANT position. If you're going to pay a guy a lot of money, and another guy less, might as well be the one on the blind side of the QB. Other than that, there is NOTHING more inherently difficult about playing the left vs. the right side. And this BS about LTs facing more difficult competition is completely obsolete at this point. There are just as many feared pass rushers from the left as the right side of the defense today. I have to laugh!
  2. Maybe we should put a dress on him so people won't hit him as hard!? Look, there is an old saying: play with your head on a swivel. Moorman did not do that and paid the price. Jordan could have hit him even harder than he did. Moorman was breaking down on the sideline to make a tackle. No way Jordan should have to make some split-second decision about which position he plays and then gauge based on that how hard he should hit him. If your going to play with the big boys, you've got to be aware and prepared to be hit. No way that was a cheap shot!
  3. The guy is a useless piece of Sheit. I emailed him over that stupid article he wrote when he was saying he hated to say he told the Bills so about trading Henry when they had the chance to get more for him back in August. I asked him to show me where he said that back in August, and told him that not even he (Mr. 20-20 hindsight) knew that McGahee was going to be able to cut it back in August when he was still favoring that leg and running extremely tentatively. I also told him I thought he was being disingenuous. He wrote me back and said he intended it that way! What an a-hole. He admits he is disingenuous, not exactly something to be proud of, and doesn't even bother to try and back up his claim. They guy is a joke.
  4. I think the Bills were the better team in everyone of those areas teamwise and personnel-wise in which you made a comparison, at least yesterday. And frankly, I think beyond yesterday. I know I've said a thousand times early on and only now are people startinf to repeat the same thing: This team needed time to gel under its new coach and new offensive system. Some of the younger and newer players needed time to get up to speed and get comfortable enough to make contibutions (e.g. McGahee and Evans). It is shame that a team cannot come right out running on all cylinders when you have a coaching change, an OC change and the obvious offensive system change. It is even more of a shame that we couldn't have stolen a few of those games early on that we should have won notwithstanding the growing pains. But this team is improving every week and if we can steal one against the Patties, look out! WHY NOT US??
  5. Not EVERYONE screams at Drew no matter what he does. Just certain people on this board whose only purpose to be here is to take a shot at him. More like some people just can't shut the phuck up and give the guy some credit where it's due. I guess it's an obsession. These were probably the same guys who had lifesized Flutie posters on the wall in their bedroom.
  6. I did and I thought the same thing. Although I don't think Lewis interfered last night at all, but I think he did against the Bills. Of course, that may just be a homer's perspective but I replayed both over and over and it seemed clear to me he made contact early against the Bills but made no contact against Cleveland.
  7. Or how about Jeff Garcia? Although I think the guy has a ton of heart and has played well the past few games.
  8. You know Opie, if you ever hope to have your posts taken seriously on this board, you may just want to consider posting something other than a shot at Drew EVERY time you post. You are a freakin' joke! Drew used the timeout because the damn play clock was about to run out. Of course, that may just have had something to do with the coaching staff being totally unprepared for that entire sequence down at the goal line. But nice job of finding some way to turn it, like everything else, on Drew. I guess he should have let the play clock run out and taken the penalty. Or perhaps he should have just aborted the called play entirely through mental telepathy! One thing we can all be sure of: No matter how Drew handled the play, ole Opie Wonton would have been taking his shot at Drew. Thank you once again for entertaining us with your acrobatic and death defying gyrations that you engage in on a daily basis to pursue your never ending quest to bash our QB. ROTFLMAO! You are such a joke!
  9. Am I the only one who finds it fascinating that 19 teams, nearly 2/3 of the league, are at 500 or below?? Or how about that only FOUR of the 13 teams above 500 are in the NFC??
  10. Make that 11, I miscounted!! Really bizarre. The Bills are joined by 10 other teams at 3-5 half way through the season. The Chiefs, Skins, Bears, Bengals, Cardinals, Bucs Titans, Saints, Cowboys and Browns are all at 3-5, with the Raiders at 3-6. That is over 1/3 of the league! Another 4 teams are at 4-4 and 4 teams at 5-3. The Bills are currently within two games of all but 8 teams in the entire NFL. Unfortunately, 5 of them are in the AFC and two are in their division. If the Bills could somehow play one more solid game against the Pats next week, that would leave us with five games against teams with losing records and the Steelers and Sea Hawks. The Steelers will be very tough, but the rest of those games are all very winnable! In fact, they are games this team should win! I like the way this team is coming together the past few games. No sacks or TOs. The running game is solid and the defense has played very well. And Drew has been gathering confidence and playing well in tough conditions. Sure would be a nice time to go on the road and beat the Pats.
  11. Nice job on the stats Lori. I think they demonstrate something quite revealing: That except for the really bad game against the Ravens, Drew has played quite well in the red zone. If the rest of the team had played anywhere near as crappy as Drew has been in the red zone, we would probably be at least 3-2! But apparently, Drew sucks because he has not caught his own passes, handed the ball off to himself and blocked for himself on all of those plays as well. Oh, wait a minute, I forgot that it was Drew who has somehow failed to inspire the rest of the team to play better.
  12. This is just TFF!! You're right. Drew should not get the credit for checking down and taking the opportunity to find his secondary receiver as was afforded by the O-line (or as you would have it, as afforded by the Card's inferior defense). BTW, the pass he threw to Euhus, for which he apparently deserves no credit, was perfectly thrown. And was he, as well as the entire team, aided by the fact that for a change they could actually run in the red zone? Of course, as are most other NFL QBs having some measure of success in the red zone. So, let me get this straight. The only time Drew gets any credit for anything is if he makes a play that is in spite of the rest of the team being ineffectual. Otherwise, he is simply the beneficiary of the better play of his teammates! ROTFLMAO!!
  13. I have to chuckle at people that can't even give the guy credit when he plays well. First of all, that fumble was not his fault. Shelton knocked the ball out of his hand as he was pivoting to either hand off or play action fake. No way Shelton should have been that close to him. But I suppose when you are hell-bent on reinforcing your opinion, who cares about factual accuracy right?? And I'm sure that if you review the play of every winning QB in the NFL this week, they probably made a mistake or less than stellar play or two.
  14. Nice to see you didn't pass up the opportunity to take a shot and Drew, even in victory. Those two passes happened to be perfect, but of course, they were only TDs on great efforts by the receivers. The weather was horrible for the passing game. Drew still did a damn good job. No sacks, no ints, 2 TDs and 4 total TDs in the red zone. And BTW, the fumblerooski play was not his fault. Shelton knocked the ball out of his hand as he pivoted. No way Shelton should have been that close to him.
  15. I have no doubts - WE DON'T!! I lost that fantasy the day I saw and heard fans cheer when RJ was hurt. Ever since then, I've had no more illusions about our fans.
  16. I still think he has it. But it depends upon what you define that to mean. Does he still have the skill and athleticism to play QB in this league? Yup. Does he have the ability to elevate the other ten guys on offense over their own ineptitude and that of his rookie coaching staff? Nope. But there are very few in this league who do. What I love about these threads and these posts is that you all presume to KNOW that Drew has no competitive fire in his belly, no will to win. This is hilarious. How the PHuck do any of you making these statements know this? Spend time in the locker room, have ya? Been in the Bills huddle? Been in meetings? Just because the guy can't offset the dumbass mistakes the rest of the team is making does not mean he doesn't want to win and win badly. You guys are really hilarious.
  17. Isn't that obvious? It's all some Yankee fans have left now.
  18. I have to admit I enjoyed the shots of Billy Crystal at the end of the game, glumly watching the celebration on the field. But you knw what, I think this is good for the Yankees and their fans, believe it or not. It gives them some incentive and helps make the victories that much sweeter. I think many Yankee fans have developed an attitude of entitlement to victory, and I don't think that can be good for any team or fan.
  19. Players are a little wierd about numbers in sports. Why do you think every year some high draft choice comes in and spends some of his bonus check to get his number from some other lesser profile guy? I agree, it would have been the mature thing for Jerry to just change his number if he wants to play for the Sea Hawks. On the other hand, the guy will go down as a first ballot Hall-o-Famer - best receiver in the history of the league, and I could undertsand that he'd like to play his last games with the same number with which he has played for 20 years. The number, especially after 20 years, becomes as synonomous as his name. I think Largent was probably cool with it. Letting the greatest WR in history use the number for a few games isn't going to diminish what Largent did in his career. And he's probably a lot more mature than Jerry anyway. If I were Steve, I would have charged him money for it!! LOL!
  20. Hey, I resemble that remark! Central Texas which includes the Texas Hill Country is beautiful. I've lived in Austin for all but 7 of the last 20 years, and it's a great place. I am looking forward to moving back there from Houston within the next year.
  21. You call this point VALID??? Rudy, I've always put up with your chicken-little posts because they are so pathetic they are amusing. But this post has revealed you for the moron you truly are. First, Ive been a Sox fan since I was 8. In case you were not aware, there were no MLB teams playing in buffalo then, nor are there now. Even then, I knew I did not want to jump on the Yankee bandwagon. And given the fact that I was growing up in a town relatively equidistant from NYC and Boston, I felt no compulsion to do so. Second, I spent four years living in that hell-hole of a city Boston, and loved every day of it notwithstanding my affiliation with no other Boston teams. It is one of the greatest cities in the US. As for dumb-ass Boston sports fans, I know there are plenty. But the same is true everywhere. All you have to do is listen to sports talk radio in Buffalo fo every time some dumb-ass calls in and wants to trade Travis, McGahee to Miami for Ricky and fire Mularkey and Donohoe! But I sure feel really good knowing that you are representing WNY sports fans in New England.
  22. After the game was over last night, that Cheers episode was on (it was like the third or fourth episode of the series) where that obnoxious Yankee fan Big Ed comes into Cheers and starts insulting the Sox and Sox fans and Carla ends up jumping him. I have to admit, although I certanly realize that the Big Ed character is the ultimate exaggeration of the lousy winner, it sure was fun listening to all of those insults after the Comeback. He basically brought up almost every insutling argument a Yankee fan has hurled at the Sox since forever. I especially love when he actually extends his insults to the Bruins, calling them sissies. Then it turns out there was a Bruin goon in the bar who heard what he said and offers to escort him to his caaaah! Great!
  23. As a Sox fan for 38 years, I say thanks!
  24. That is correct, but as to the previous post that was quoted, this start value is not simply looked up in a book. There are standards by which these start values are calculated, but it is not some perfunctory number look-up. There is room for subjective as well as objective error every time they perform an assessment of the start value. Of course, like any referee, they are trained to apply the rules and are expected to get the right value. But it is not unusual for errors to be made. In fact, I heard an interview with a gymnastics coach who said they srew up the assessment of these numbers commonly. That as a result, every team has (or at least any team that knows what it means to compete on an International level) has what THEY believe their start values to be already figured out and on paper. If the value the officials assess does not match what they have (and particularly if they are assessed a lower number), they are prepared to protest immediately. Thus, the fact that the Koreans did not do so is even more unforgiveable. EVERYBODY knows this!!
