He took it, that's the point.  🎉🎉🎉

When someone I've been talking to, slowly and patiently over months, finally hits a tipping point and decides it's in their interest to get vaccinated, I don't say "what took you so long?"  I say "That's Great News, I'm so happy to hear that!  I'm gonna sleep a bit better tonight!"

But it's still OK toTHINK the former, even while you're stating the latter. 😊

His voices quality didn't really bother me, it was that he talked non stop for 8 1/2 minutes much of which was not Germaine to the topic.  Like what a perfect play would even look like.  The video could have easily been about 1/2 that long.

    This.

His voice was far from sonorous, but it certainly wasn’t anywhere as bad as I was expecting based on the thread.

He absolutely needs to slow down, and minimize his words so he doesn’t feel the need to speed talk through his analysis.

We've had every other vaccine. The ones that have been around with years of data behind them. I'm not completely "anti-vax" as people try to label. But we never get flu shots and we're not getting this. The possible heart issues, the possible blood clots, the sickness you get from it, as well as other things I have seen. We're healthy and have been through all of this. The shot is unnecessary to me/us. Not doing it.

OK, this explains a different reason why you aren't getting it it, so technically it really doesn't answer my question.

And of course, the incidents of myocarditis and blood clots are literally orders of magnitude lower than the chances of getting COVID, and especially now that the Delta variant is here.  That variant is by far more the most contagious and is thought to be more deadly because of increased viral load at the inception of infection.

All but a few rare instances of the already rare instances of myocarditis did not resolve themselves without any intervention, or simple anti-inflammatory agents.  Same with the blood clots, now that people know to watch for the symptoms and doctors know not to treat them with heparin.

BTW, I know of no one in my rather large family who had anything more than a sore arm for a day and a half.

This is incorrect reading comprehension on your part. I said “largely” not “exclusively”. I too am no intolerant liberal, but I am critical of Cole so I don’t see your point.

It is still an incorrect assumption on your part, first that I failed to comprehend what you said and second, that I intended to prove you were incorrect by simply using myself as the example that makes your assumption incorrect.

I am merely stating that it is incorrect and unsupportable to state that people critical of Cole on this board are "largely" made up of intolerant liberals.  How many of this group do you know well enough to presume to know their political bent let alone their level of intolerance for those of a different one.

And my point is that I am one example of someone, while critical of Cole and people like him in the NFL, who is not intolerant of others because of some political ideology, whether theirs or mine.  But I DO have a lack of tolerance of willful ignorance and gullibility in people.

So if you are critical of Cole for being willfully ignorant on the issue and putting it on full display, then that makes at least two of us.  At what point does the number of us cause the number who aren't to fail to meet the definition of largely, as indefinite as it is?

because that’s largely who are attacking Cole. There are certainly a plethora of judgmental conservators with zero tolerance for alternative perspectives too, they just aren’t relevant to the Cole Beasley conversation.

That is incorrect assumption on your part.  I ain't no intolerant liberal by any definition.  But what I do find hard to tolerate is willful ignorance and gullibility.

Well, thanks at least for stating your reasons clearly and calmly, without calling everyone else "sheep" for believing the evidence that it does 'help or protect'.

It is important to note they were 100% effective against preventing death in clinical trials, but have not been 100% effective at preventing death in real-world usage based upon data and studies from both Israel and the UK. Also, someone fully vaccinated died in Washington state, I believe.

And exactly what were the circumstances of those deaths?  How many were there?  Did they receive both shots and did the infections occur within a few weeks of vaccination?  Were they immunologically compromised to begin with?  Full vaccination requires a latency period to achieve full immunological response.  I have done searches and see no such information.  Please provide me with a link.  Thanks.

Also, which vaccines were they?  I mentioned the three approved for use in the US.  There are other vaccines from other providers for which I am not vouching.

I actually don't believe it helps or protects, but on the contrary I don't want to take the chance of self inflicted harm that could come from it. Either be that to me or at my hands to my children. The question is posed for those who believes it does make them "safe" from the effects. I'd rather take my chances with me and my children having remained healthy through this entire ordeal.

And just out of curiosity, exactly what factual basis informs your belief that vaccines don't help or protect?  I ask this because all of the data, both in trials and empirical data collected in the field, say exactly the opposite.  Overwhelmingly the opposite.

The vaccine does not stop you from getting or spreading the virus it just helps to keep you from dying from it and if you are healthy you really need not worry add to that if others get vaccinated & your healthy and don't have it then what is there to fear but the fear they have interjected into all of this !

This is factually incorrect.  The vaccines are not 100% effective against an infection.  But they are 100% effective in preventing death.

The two RNA vaccines by Pfizer and Moderna are like 94-95% effective against infection, with the two shots taken.  And that is nearly twice as effective as the typical flu vaccine.  This was demonstrated by the initial trials and has been confirmed in the field as they continue to study people who have received the vaccine, and tracking of breakthrough infections.

The Johnson and Johnson is 72% effective at preventing breakthrough infections and also 100% effective in preventing hospitalization and death, but it's advantage was a single dose and not having to store it at extremely low temps.

I don’t agree that he should be cut but I also don’t think Beane CAN cut him due to the issues he had with his interview awhile back about whether he would cut an unvaccinated player. That would be a much bigger PR nightmare than whatever Beasley is doing on his own.

He is making himself unavailable to the team by his actions, AND, he is endangering the availability of others by ignoring the protocols designed to protect others on the team, both vaccinated and unvaccinated.  He would not be cutting him for being unvaccinated.  He is a detriment to the team and its ability function.

I think in Rousseau they took the higher ceiling and in Basham they took the higher floor. I won't be surprised if Basham contributes more his rookie season while Rousseau develops some pass rush moves.

I do think Rousseau can still contribute this season on passing downs from inside while he is perfecting those moves against tackles.

  11. I don't know if this has been posted elsewhere, but interesting.

I don't know if the Bills will be even in on this, but ....

They’re going to trade Zach Ertz. And it’s going to be — the way that I’ve said this in the live stream, there are personnel people around the league who think that Ertz will be traded no later than early in the draft. Like, when I say early, it certainly could happen — the way I heard it — there’s a very realistic chance it actually happens on the lead-up.

Report: Eagles are going to trade Zach Ertz ‘by the end of the draft for sure’

5 QBs in the top 1/2 of draft

    Sure things -   (10)

      - Penei Sewell

       - Kyle Pitts

       - Jamar Chase

        - Waddle

        - Devonta Smith

        -  Patrick Surtain

        -  Jaycee Horn

        -  Micah Parsons

        - Etienne

Now we have 15+ picks in place....  Any of the next 15 could go in any way depending on needs including run on OTs.

I think the Bills will definitely have aa shot at

Najee Harris and any of the 5 Edge rushers  that they may trade up a little to get theiir guy

You can probably make that a solid 16 given that the Raiders probably will draft a guy to which no other team has assigned a first round grade.

I think they keep him around like they did last year to develop & when Tribs leaves next year they will have a viable back up going forward or a possible player available for trade to another team to get some draft capital or to entice another team to trade with the Bills .

Ding ding ding ding.... And we have a winner.  Fromm's development no doubt suffered as a result of the pandemic.  Trubiski is probably not hanging around as a back for an under-market salary for more than a year.  And he will probably want at least one more chance to compete for a starting gig.

We have no idea how his development went last season. Good or bad.  Bills will continue his development for another season, unless he is just sucking out loud.

Well, I've noticed that it is the famous person who always gets the benefit of the doubt. It's always a money grab. These snap judgements are pretty dang predictable.

I believe, as a snap judgment, that this may be the better example of a snap judgment of a snap judgment.  😄

  15. 1 hour ago, MJS said:

You mean, without having any facts at all? I just don't get why people allow themselves to make snap judgements like this. Just wait for some information.

It's a personality trait.  Highly subjective personalities tend to believe that they can intuit snap judgments and have no concern for a lack of facts or evidence.  At the opposite end of the spectrum, you have highly objective people who obsess over details and can't get to the conclusion part to save their lives.

As usual, it's always better in the middle, unless you are in a situation that benefits from snap judgments or an overabundance of caution.
