  1. Funny, that's the nice thing about being a lawyer, too! LOL!
  2. Puddum, bum! Thanking you very much, I'll be appearing here all week............ Very funny SDS! IN a morbid sort of way!
  3. And rest assured that if we do go 10-6, he will at some point go back and point out that he was right. After all, if you take enough different positions, eventually you will actually be right on one of them!
  4. Ahhh, nothing like the comforting self-delusion, reinforced by tautology and circular logic to make a guy feel good, eh ICE? So how long has it taken you to create this little of world of yours, anyway? I love these threads! Nothing more entertaining than watching a guy call everyone who doesn't agree with him a moron and a retard. The only thing funnier is the fact that he is, in his own mind, dead right. Oh, actually there is one thing funnier. It's reading the posts of those few people that actually think he is making sense! Oh, BTW, there is nothing gratuitous and over-the-top about TDs praise for Bledose. The guy has handled himself with class and dignity on and off of the field the entire time he's been here. And he HAS played winning football in most of his games. He just hasn't had a lot of help from his teammates or coaching staffs until recently. This team has made great progress under the circumstances, and will finish strong down the stretch. Drew will come in as the designated starter next year, and JP will move up to second. The team will come out like gangbusters next year, and will be right in the thick of things. Those who cannot understand that this is a team game will slowly fade (or in the case of ICE, will make another complete reversal of position) as this team becomes a contender for the foreseeable future. JP will come in well-schooled, and it will be a reasonably smooth transition. In the meantime, keep 'em coming, ICE. Nothing serves up a laugh better than indignant arrogance founded on ignorance and delusion.
  5. Only if we can also stop all of the idiotic Drew still sucks even though we are winning posts and the even more predictable Drew has only had a couple of good games and the rest were average or lousy posts.
  6. Yes, too bad people don't see it that way when the Bills lose!
  7. Do you really have to ask this question? But never fear! Even though ICE said he would never say anything about Bledsoe again, at least 10 Bledsoe posts ago, he and KH and others will find some fault with a performance that rates a passer rating of 133! Like for example, that it was against a 2-10 team, even though this 2-10 team is ranked nearly as highly as ours defensively. The reason that there are those who seek vindication is that these epople who blame one man for the team's perfromance this year have no clue. The reality is, this team (and especially the offense), has matured to the point over the past 12 games that it is able to overcome stupid mistakes, bad calls, and bad breaks and still win. Drew, has benfitted from his temmates finally all getting on the same page, and frankly, from spending time in this new offense himself. Today, it was the defense that looked really bad and we still won. That is a really good thing. Oh, and for all of the Mike Mckinney lovers out there, I happened to catch the superstar in action at the end of the Vikings /Chicago game where he let the RDE push him back, jam underneath him to make a bee line for Culpepper. And even though the Mount was hooking him with his arm, the RDE got to Culpepper and caused Dante to throw the game-ending interception with his arms wrapped around him. It was a thing of beauty!
  8. Why are you so convinced this guy (or any other guy in the stands who was hit during that fracas) is going to make a heap of money? Unless he is permanently damaged, maimed or crippled, and he can convince a jury of that, he is going to get diddly. Unless you consider a few tens of thousands to be a heap of money of course, which Artest may be willing to pay just to make the suit go away. The last fan to sue for being punched by an NBA player sued for $1 Million and ended up settling for $1000! Hardly the lottery. More like a cheap scratch-off.
  9. Remind you of anyone else you might know? I voted for the last choice, not that I need the ignore feature to ignore self-promotion.
  10. Great point. Besides, he wouldn't be the first one on this board to follow that modus operandi, and HE hasn't been banned yet, has he?
  11. $180! My bad! I can usually catch at least 4 Bills games per year on the local TV, which leaves a max of 12 games I need to see. For $120, I can go to a Sports Bar, have a burger and a couple of beers with a bunch of Bills fans, and get waited on by a cute waitress while I watch all of the games simultaneously. It's just not worth it to me.
  12. I did, and I am happy with the decision. The price of Sunday Ticket is like $150 for the season, and that as a repeat customer, and I guarantee it will go up plenty more during DTV's monopoly period. If the Bills are not available, I go to a sports bar here in Houston and watch them with a bunch of other Bills fans for a lot less money and actually enjoy myself meeting Bills fans in the process. The other nice thing, I can watch all of the games simultaneously at a sports bar, whereas for Sunday Ticket I have to flip between channels. The other big benefit: I don't feel that I have to spend my entire Sunday watching the NFL to try to get my money's worth. BTW, DN's DVR works just fine for me, and cost me $0 when installed. I'm very happy with my new Dish Network package.
  13. It has been said many times that the O-line is the most complex position to play AS A UNIT for a football team. Villarial's presence has helped, and no doubt Tucker has really done well at the left guard position. It's all starting to come together. Sadly, it may be too late for this season as far as the playoffs are concerned, but next season, the team should be really good. Also note that the teams having the most success this season are teams that have had continuity in the head coach and coordinator positions for several years. New England, Broncos, Colts, Eagles and even the Chargers have all had the benefit of coordinator (and head coach) continuity. The exception to this are the Steelers, but they have been playing the same basic systems for the past several years.
  14. This was the first game this year that the offense actually looked comfortable, relaxed, aggressive and smooth. I think this was the first game all season the Bills actually scored on a sustained drive with their first possession. That really set the tone for the rest of the game. The play-calling was mixed well. Drew looked comfortable and there were very few false starts/holding penalties, or plays that looked like at least one person blew an assignment (accept for maybe the sack that Marcus Price gave up after he came in for Jennings, and I have to give him that one considerinig he has to come in somewhat cold and inconsistently). And when they did occur, the O bounced back and kept the chains moving anyway. I see this as a maturation of the entire offense, from the scheme to the OC calling the plays to the players running it. One of things that you cannot do is install and perfect an entire playbook in the first summer before the season starts. That misdirection reverse that Evans ran and the 4th and 1 McGahee play are great examples of an ever expanding playbook that will make the Bills offense much less predictable. Nor can you substitute actually running the plays a number of times against live competition and making individual adjustments based on seeing the tendencies of the defenses they face. Bledsoe finally looked comfortable going to Evans, another facet of the maturation process of the offense. It is a damn shame that we couldn't have at least closed out the Jag and Jets-1 games notwithstanding the problems the O was having at the time. The defense has been pretty good all season (primarily due to the limited number of new players and the continuity of the same DC and scheme for 4 years). The special teams seemed to come up to speed next, and now hopefully the offense. This team would be damn scary if it can continue to fire on all cylinders like it did today. The reality is, when all facets of the game are playing well, the occasional mistakes are much easier overcome. That takes the pressure off of individuals and permits everyone to play with more confidence. And BTW, did anyone else notice that even though he has given way to Kelsey as a starter, Denny was in on a number of those running plays where Alexander was held to little or no gain, AND he was the guy who caused the fumble?
  15. Actually, I don't think this harms Travis' market value all that much. A fractured bone is nothing. Sure it may keep him out for the rest of the season (which means he can't be on display for other teams), but bones heal well. Had he torn up his knee, that would be a different story. Of course, other teams may try to use that as leverage, but his market value will be competely determined by the number of teams out there who covet a top back. They will get the chance to examine him and to see that the leg has healed. They also know the guy was a top back the past two seasons until McGahee came in. He's too young to have lost anything due to age yet. All you need is two or more teams who really want a proven back and let the bidding begin.
  16. How many points did the defense score this week? And while Willis had 4 TDs, 3 of them were courtesy of our passing game, not our running game! Hell, the guy had 30 yards on one play that was as much a pass as it was a run, and it was set up beautifully by a great fake and throw by Drew. Yeah, we won in spite of Drew for sure. Why don't you go hang out with ICE and keep trying to justify your position notwithstanding that our team has gone 5-2 in its last seven games, and were it not for the defense not closing the deal in two of the first 4 games, we could be looking at 6-4 instead of 4-6? Oh yes, that's right. I am one of the myriad pathetic imbeciles on this board who just doesn't have the depth and insight to get it! LOL!
  17. ZZZZZZZZ......ZZZZZZZZ..... ZZZZZZZZ......HMMM, uhhh, what? Oh, yes of course... ZZZZZZZZZ........
  18. Why not? I guess it's OK if a rock band uses a bunches of kids on their album and makes Millions off of them and not pay them their due compensation? Please let me hear your theory, if you have one that is. LOL!
  19. Well Simon, I think this is one of things upon which reasonable minds can differ. I've seen the foul many times, as I am sure you have. Every time I see it, while agree it was unnecessary and was designed to send a message, I think it is part of the game generally, and probably part of that game specifically. The Pistons are a physically intimidating team, and I am sure there was a lot of "hard" fouls in the game, especially on layups. I think that Wallace was being reminded of something he or one of his teammates did earlier in the game, or perhaps the message was simply that we beat your butts tonight and nothing will be easy when playing us, not even at the end of the game. That was for future contests no doubt to played between the two teams. As for whether it had any chance of injuring Wallace, I just don't see it. BUT, I don't think Aretst should have been too surprised that Wallace came after him either! As for the fan who threw the drink, I would have enjoyed seeing Artest shove it up his keister!
  20. Well, I can't personally speak for Ron Artest's physiology. But one thing I do know is that adrenaline in most humans does not instantly or even quickly dissipate from the body. What sort of defense mechanism would it be if you needed to ramp everything back up every time danger re-presents itself under a stressful situation. I have experienced that many times, where I have gotten the adrenaline pumping over a physically and psychologically stressful situation (such as a fight in a game). And even though the situation that created it has seemingly passed, and I am trying to calm myself, that I am still amped from the adrenaline for some time afterward. In that case, the anger/rage/fear subsides to giddiness, but the body is still ready to respond to further danger for some time afterward. While he may have appeared cool as a cucumber, if he is like most humans, the adrenaline was still there. Moreover, I agree that Artest is a hot head, meaning that he needs anger management. Some people are more easily aroused into this adrenaline state than others. And while a cup of beverage thrown at him would seem hardly a danger, that fan was asking for it knowing that Artest is who he is.
  21. Perhaps Stern's paying customers should think about their own safety! I've never seen a player go into the stands because fans were behaving themselves. This is the problem I have. All this does is reinforce certain fans' beliefs that they are protected by the league and even entitled to behave like the biggest assclowns in the world. It only reinforces to them that they can smugly sit up there and do whatever they want because it is the player who is at fault if it escalates. You cannot have it this way and expect that these incidents will not occur every so often, no matter how many games you suspend a guy for. The fans, security and the NBA were at least 50% responsible for this ugliness, because they continue to promote this notion that fans have a right to get loaded and to be as obnoxious and beligerent as they want to be because they pay the bills. Until such time as leagues of any sport start cracking down on this sort of behavior, they need to share the burden equally. This is the reason I cannot buy into this full season suspension for Artest, no matter how politically correct it sounds.
  22. While I cannot agre with you that Artest did nothing wrong, I will quote a line from Chrisk Rock's "Bring the Pain" routine when discussing OJ: "I'm not saying he should have done it, but I understand!" Artest should have refrained from going in. No question, but I am sick and tired of fans thinking that just because they buy a ticket that gives them the right to be verbally abusive of players, to throw stevestojan at players and to enter the field of play. Any fan that abuses a player and gets the crap beat out of him gets what he deserved. And while I would definitely punish the player for doing it, I would not take away his entire season for it, not even Ron Artest. The reality is, players probably constantly have to swallow their pride and anger night after night for these A-holes, and after a while, a thrown cup, a stolen hat, etc. is all it takes to set off the conflagration, especially when their adrenaline is already pumping. I find this to be at least equally on security in these venues for permitting fans to be drunk, rowdy, verbally abusive and worse. I would have given Artest 35 games and no more. All those clowns will get is fined a few hundred bucks, maybe have their season tickets revoked. That should be the least of it, and they should have to forfeit the money as well....no refunds. But none of those idiots will lose what these players will lose. Not even close. And while that should be a huge incentive for players to swallow their anger, I can certanly understand how even a simple thing like a thrown cup is enough to set an ahtlete off. I'm sure Artest's adrenaline was flowing. I know mine would have been had a guy like Wallace shoved me and came after me. And so what he fouled him so he couldn't make the lay-up? Wallace is a big boy. It was hardly the kind of foul that would cause injury. I have heard all this crap about how this is necessary to ensure fans' safety, so that they know that players will not come into the stands again. This makes me laugh. How 'bout if the fans STFU when it comes to verbally abusing players, stay in their seats and off the field of play, and refrain from thowing stevestojan at them when they should know that such an act is likely to provoke a player who is already amped over something that ocurred on the court or field? And how about these venues do their jobs and throw drunk and belligerent fans out on their asses? I have no sympathy for any fan that gets his ass kicked by an athlete for being an idiot. I'm not saying he should have done it, but I understand!
  23. ROTFLMAO!!
