  1. He has no pocket presence. Oh wait, that's when JP get's blind-sided and fumbles. Sorry, wrong QB!
  2. Bite your heresy speaking tongue! Only JP hangs onto the ball too long, never Trent!
  3. Yeah, only problem with that explanation is we scored on three straight drives sandwiched between two turnovers that would have been turnovers even if Edwards was playing, leaving us two TDs down. How does that reflect on the defense's inablility to stop them (let alone cause turnovers of their own) but once in that whole timeframe? Was it that time of the month for them or something? Would Trent have eased their troubled minds, even though he would have had to deal with same offensive lineman who can't execute an assignment and a tight end who can't hold onto the ball?
  4. Yeah, but Trent INSPIRES the defense. If Trent hadn't been hurt, the defense would have played like they did against SD. There would have been at least three turnovers by the defense!! Moreover, had Trent been playing, there would have been no missed assignment on the botched hand-off, and even if there had been, Trent would have lept a tall building or something and prevented the turnover. If Trent had been playing, Royal would not have put the ball on the ground (he would have held on tighter for Trent than JP), and even if he hadn't, Trent would have recovered the fumble! And of course, had Trent been playing, the times that Peters got beat around the corner would NOT have led to a sack and/or turnover because Trent has never given up one of those (nor has he ever held the ball too long). Well, OK, at least he hasn't given one up THIS year. Well OK, no more than two or three. BUT hey those were ALL Peters' fault after all. And even if Royal still fumbled, and even if Trent had not managed to recover the fumble, there would have been no offside on the FG that allowed them to get a TD and go back up two TDs with a quarter to play. And before you tell me what color the sky is in your world, please don't let it get in your way that the defense couldn't stop the Cards BEFORE Trent got hurt, let alone but once afterward. Don't pay attention to the fact that we were within a TD of them until the middle of 3rd quarter, when Royal put the ball on the ground deep in our territory, at which point the defense and special teams combined to permit that to lead to a two TD advantage. And certainly don't let it bother you that even if Trent had led the offense to scores on three straight possessions, as did JP, that in order to overcome a 2 TD advantage, that the defense would have had to get at least three stops (including shutting them out) while preserving enough time on the clock to permit those three scoring drives. But I know, had Trent been playing, the defense would not only have been inspired to shut them out the rest of the way, they most certainly would have even scored a TD or two. God knows, the back-up QB keeping them within a TD through 2/3 of the game notwithstanding their pathetic performance wouldn't be inspiration enough for professionals to try and give the kind of performance the team needed under the circumstances. Yeah, the only reason we are not still undefeated is that stupid JP had to come in and he lost the game. That, and the fact that Trent wasn't able to insire those stops and turnovers on defense the team so desperately needed.
  5. Then I have to assume that Trent deserves his share of responsibility as well for those blind-side hits he's taken and lost the ball when Peters or someone else got beat, right? And of course, one could argue that Trent played his usual game, in our previous three games, which was not to get a whole lot done until the last drive or two and then pulled it out of his ass. And he was able to do that because at least in his games, the defense kept it close enough to make that even possible. The reality is, Trent has not had to play a game yet this year where the defense was so atrocious that he had to literally score every time down the field or we were screwed. If all of our games had been like this one, we would be 2-3 at best right now and there wouldn't be all this talk about how Trent's the next great thing comin' down the pike. Now of course, my point is not to bash Trent. I like the kid and I think he's done OK. My point is only that this was a completely different game from the past three, because our defense kept those other games close enough to pull out in the end. There's a big difference between a game like those, and one like yesterday where the defense KNOWS you can't stop their offense so they can tee off on every damn play. Oh, and let's not forget that they literally ran over twice the plays we did. Trent's taken his fair share of sacks over the first four games, and has fumbled on a number of them. Of course, you never hear anything about it on this board that maybe HE held the ball too long, or that maybe HE should have felt the blind-side pressure. But if JP does it (even for only 3 seconds), he's just playing that crappy game he always plays. I didn't say he played that great, but I think under the circumstances he did pretty well until our lack of defense made it a lost cause. And he sure didn't get a lot of help from the team along the way, especially up front. I guarantee you Trent's typical game would not have made this one any better.
  6. You mean Trent would not have stepped into the pocket first to avoid the backside pressure that was about to be heaved on him? I seriously doubt it. JP made a nice play on that to avoid yet another sack courtesy of our LT in need of way more money. I think Trent would have stepped up as well. Otherwise Trent would have been on his butt.
  7. Hey, I felt sorry for her. I hate seeing women go unsatisfied. It's how I roll.
  8. I don't know. Goodell is clearly very concerned about concussions and protecting the players, and if I were the Bills, I'd be sure to send him some footage just to be sure.
  9. That's REALLY funny, because that's what SHE said!!
  10. Nope, it was your woman.
  11. I thought it was borderline illegal if not illegal, but not so much for leading with the helmet as getting him off the ground and then pile driving him with all of his weight into the turf. QBs that are throwing the ball are vulnerable to that because they can't brace themselves for the hit. I thought he intentionally took advantage of that to get him off his feet and to drive him into the turf. That is simply not necessary to tackle him had he pulled the ball in instead of throwing it. I'm not going to be pissed if they don't fine him, but I won't feel bad for him if they do.
  12. I knew if I came on the board, there would be these threads of idiocy. That hand-off exchange was NOT on JP. First, it was a missed assignment on the line that led to that play. I don't know if Dockery screwed up by letting the guy come in untouched , or if it was an inadequate job by our center in pulling and blocking down (as he wiffed the guy), but either way, a man coming in full speed and untouched on a running play is going to cause some serious problems. Secondly, Marshawn stopped running forward on the play, because HE was in position to see the guy coming in full barrel. He hesitated right at the time he was supposed to take the hand-off because he knew he was about to get blown up. But, yeah, of course blame it on JP. But you JP haters gotta take every opportunity to do so, don't ya? Then I love that blind-side sack he took when Peters was abused on the outside. The announcer says, "Oh he hung onto that too long at over 4 seconds, and tries to justify it during the replay by counting 1-1thousand - 2 1thousand - 3 one thousand bang! Umm, oh well, yeah his left tackle got burned BUT, if you're going to wait three seconds back there, you better be on the move or something." Had it been Trent taking that sack, everyone would have been screaming at Peters. I guess if Trent had been in there, Peters would have been inspired to play better - or something! And I love the one poster above who claims he should have thrown the TD pass sooner. What game were you watching?? He had back-side pressure and he had to step up into the pocket first to avoid a near sack before he could throw it cleanly. It is amazing what people will say just to be right. Notwithstanding our hapless defense, JP had us within a TD of the lead with less than two minutes to go in the first half, and our defense still gave up three more points at the end of the half. Once again, JP had us within a TD after the FG drive at the beginning of the second half (I'm sure that was his fault it wasn't a TD, too!). The whole notion that the team was not as confident with JP in there is laughable. For nearly 3 quarters, he had us in the game in spite of that woeful performance by the defense and frankly the O_line as well. I know Trent would have inspired the team to better play. Had Trent been there to inspire them, they most certainly would have had more stops on defense no doubt (hell, maybe even ONE sack), and they would not have had all of those stupid penalties, like being offside on the FG attempt that gave them another TD. I KNOW Royal wouldn't have fumbled on the very next drive if Trent would have thrown that pass in stead of JP. I guess he just wasn't confident or something. JP didn't throw his pick until the game was over, and we were just winging it. And maybe he did screw up his read with Evans on that play, but so what? The guy hasn't played a down in 5 weeks. I realize Trent never makes a mistake, so he's a tough act to follow, but Geesh! The reality is that our team got their butts kicked on defense, special teams and the o-line. They dominated both sides of the ball in the trenches, and we made everything worse with stupid penalties. Did JP make some mistakes? Sure. Would Trent have made any difference back there today? No Freakin' Way!
  13. I'm pretty sure she'd sell. Unless of course Al has it arranged for her to channel him so he can continue to ruin, I mean, run the team from hell!
  14. I was listening to some late-night sports-talk radio show at about 3:30 AM this morning, and they played a clip from the press conference that was absolutely precious. Al asks his lackeys who is going to introduce Cable as the new head coach. When someone suggests that he should he says (paraphrased from memory): "I don't know anything about him." There's some additonal discussion, and he says (again, paraphrased from memory): "Well get me his press package." Presumably so he can at least say something about him! What a freakin' tool! He doesn't know anything about the new guy he is hiring as his new interim coach?? Say what you will about Ralph and his various gaffs over the years, but thank GOD he's not Al Davis! I'm surprised someone from Raider Nation hasn't just bumped this guy off so someone who is at least sane and has a few brain cells left can take over the team!
  15. Al Davis has become a complete parody of himself. This kind of crap worked back in the 60's, maybe the 70's but not today. The guy is a litiguous jerk who likes to spend his money trying to bully people around with the legal system when they don't give him his way or when things don't work out how he wants them to. The fact that he went on TV to make his case against Kiffin should tell you all you need to know. If he really had a case, he wouldn't need to try and win it in the court of public opinion, where too many people believe anything they hear. The man has absolutely no class or dignity whatsoever. Yeah, he didn't want to admit he made a mistake in hiring. He didn't want to admit that if he wanted a yes man, that he was going to be out $4 Mil to get him. He's been trying to get Kiffin to quit ever since. Good for you Lane. You wouldn't be intimidated into giving up the cash, so now he's going to run a smear campaign to weasel out of his deal with you. Al Davis is a freakin' joke.
  16. No doubt, some of his takes, and those of listeners are very funny, but about the time that I am hearing it or some slight variation of it stated for the 25th time, it just isn't funny to me anymore. Actually, it probably starts losing its humor for me at about the fourth or fifth time.
  17. Best in the Biz? I don't know. He is a very strong interviewer, Ill give him that. But what I can't listen to is afterward when he kills time reliving the interview for twice as long as the actual interview itself, patting himself on the back and repeating the highlights six different ways to Sunday. His rants are the same. He spends 15 minutes on a topic, stating his position over and over again ad nauseum, with only slight if any variation on the theme. Talk about beating a dead horse. Then he reads his listener email for another 10 minutes to flog that poor dead horse with their regurgitated bits. I guess some people think that's funny. I find it to be incredibly tedious.
  18. I agree he had some value as another body to rotate in on the line, and he did make some good blocks, But, while clearly the blind-side sack was his biggest and most obvious mistake, I saw many times where he was blown into the backfield on running plays, including one where his man practically tackled the back with Peters as a battering ram. I sure hope he is in better shape and in better form this week.
  19. I most certainly thought that, and I thought it as early as our final drive of the first half, where, with decent field position and two timeouts plus the two minute warning, we suddenly decided to revert back to the "OK, let's go into half-time with the lead mentality," rather than what I thought would have been a, "Let's get some more points before the half and really stick it to them" mentality. That old way of thinking almost cost us the lead at the end of the half, or at the very least would have cut ours to one point and would have given Jax a lift going into the half. BUT, Stroud's play really pulled their butts out of the fire in a way that the old Bills of the past few seasons could not have. Then, I really questioned the wisdom of activating Peters and playing Peters in this game. I knew it had to happen sooner rather than later, but he was really a liability on Trent's blind side and proved it when he gave up that blind side sack and a crucial turnover. BUT again, whereas in seasons recently passed, that would have been the death knell turning point of the game, the Bills overcame that huge mistake and still won the game against a very good defense in their own house. What was most impressive to me was that the while the Bills still made some typical errors in judgment, the team was able to overcome them and still win the game. THAT is how a team becomes a winner. THAT was what I needed to see before I could lose that "Oh crap, here we go again feeling."
  20. I think he should at least pay $190,000 worth to make up for that first game he missed. he may have been here for the game check, but there was no way he could play and earn his money. Frankly, I wouldn't mind if he was fined half of a game check for the Jags game either. He was really good on some plays, really bad on some other plays, and was on the sideline for a bunch more.
  21. Yeah, and let's not forget the "I had to do this for my family" BS.
  22. Let's also not forget that he forfeits the incentive bonus that he would have otherwised earned for taking the requsite number of snaps during the season, and meanwhile, he ain't playin' and therefore he ain't impressin' anyone when it comes to making his case for a huge new contract for next year. Count me in the let him rot camp! I agree with Badobilz, the team needs to take this stand and let him (and his hold-out lovin' agent) figure out for himself that he is not the one holding the cards. They also need to resist the temptation to trade him, as that is just as good for him as a new contract. And if he waits to show up until the tenth game, they should put his ass on special teams for the rest of the season!
  23. And you seem to have boundless energy upon which to draw for the task at hand, not that there's anything wrong with THAT!
  24. Hey Mickey, I think Jason's nutsack is getting a little dry and chapped now. Perhaps you should get him some aloe vera gel so that you can continue your ball-washing crusade without causing him too much irritation.
