  1. What he said. The Bills AND the NFL for me. I'll watch college football.
  2. Agreed. The Bills had no choice but to let those guys go when they did. We were so far over the cap, it was ridiculous. Somehow, I think BP would have managed that situation so much better than it was.
  3. Yeah, his average of about 13 offensive points per start would have really buried the Titans, for sure.
  4. Do you mean because his own arrogance is well-rooted in his ignorance, or because he is alluding to all of these people with small weenies when he clearly has none at all?
  5. You mean like he's been getting out of his special teams this year?
  6. Amen. Still glad he's gone. And BTW, the first time he pulled his little act, it was THREE years before his contract was to expire.
  7. I completely agree. He kept paraphrasing Jauron like, "He said he just wanted to keep it close and play not to lose by alot." Not what Dick said at all. He simply said that the defense had fought so hard to hold down the saints and keep it close, that in his opinion it was still too early to gamble the game on that one play. In hindsight of course, the defense collapsed and it was over. But they played so well, it almost seemed only fair to give them another shot at holding them rather than possibly turning the ball over deep in our territory with so much time left on the clock. Now, reasonable people can differ as to whether that was the right decision (I favored going for it because I kind of felt it was only matter of time before the defense collapsed), but in NO WAY did Jauron say that his decision was made for the purpose of not losing by a lot of points, or so that they could lose close as Sullivan puts it. He even went so far as to suggest that Dick was trying to get moral victory points in support of keeping his job. Dick Jauron may be a lot of things, but sacrificing his defenses' effort for purposes of gaining favor to keep his job is not one of them. I had to turn the channel.
  8. Yeah, but what guy in his right mind is going to pass on the opportunity to be on someone's 57 man roster, making at the very least the rookie min which has to be at least $300,000 per year, to stay on his drafting team's practice squad for $15k or 30K or whatever it is now for PS? And for everyone saying that Green Bay must not think much of him because they didn't move him up first, the obvious obstacle is that they would have to cut or IR someone first. If Chad Clifton is going to be back soon, obviously they ain't gonna IR him.
  9. A - Phukking-Men! Good riddance and GREAT post. Just wait until two years from now when he wants to renegotiate again. Screw him and the poor horse he rode out on.
  10. Umm, So are you including the following players in this blanket dismissal of all Texas players this decade as sucking and being soft? I think their teams would beg to differ. But perhaps you can explain it so we can all understand. Casey Hampton - DT - Steelers Pro Bowls in '04, '06, '07 and '08. Micheal Griffin - S - Titans -Pro Bowl in second year ('08). Led Titan in special teams tackles as a rookie BTW. Shaun Rogers - DT- Lions and Browns - Pro Bowls in 04, 05 Priest Holmes - RB - Chiefs - Pro Bowls in '02 ,'03 and '04 while leading the league in rushing. Nathan Vasher - CB - Pro Bowl in '05, led Bears D in ints as a rookie. Ranked 6th in NFL as a punt return avg between 04 and 08. Leonard Davis - OG - Cards and Cowboys - Pro Bowls in '07 and '08, coincidentally after he left the Cards for the Cowboys. Bo Scaife - TE - Titans - Set Franchise record for receptions by a rookie TE, caught 58 passes last season and named designated as Titans Franchise player this offseason. Quentin Jammer - CB - Chargers - has started for the Chargers at CB for the past 6 seasons and recently signed to a long-term extension. Cedric Griffin - CB - Vikings - Has started nearly every game for the Vikes since halfway through his rookie season. Derrick Johnson - LB - Chiefs - has started nearly every game for the Chiefs over the past 4 seasons, and at every position in the 4-3 defense. Justin Blaylock - OG - Falcons - Started for an O line that gave up a franchise low 17 sacks last season and ranked second in rush avg. in the NFL. Cullen Loeffler - LS - Vikings - Has handled every special teams snap for the Vikes since winning the job his rookie season (six seasons). Roy Williams - WR - Lions/Cowboys - Pro Bowl in '07. And some younger guys like: Jamaal Charles - RB - Chiefs - Had a 5.3 yard rushing avg and caught 27 passes for a 10 yard average as a rookie last season. Appeared in a ll 16 games. Jermichael Finley - TE - Packers - He abused our 1st string defense for 3 catches and 46 yards in our game last week. IN hi second season. There are others, but I think you have enough names to keep you busy explaining how all of these guys are soft like every other Longhorn player this decade.
  11. Stallworth was VERY lucky there was a video camera that caught the whole thing. Otherwise, he could have gone away for a very long time for something that was mostly if at all not his fault. BUT, this should be a lesson to everyone regarding drinking and driving. Even an accident that was unavoidable or not your fault will suddenly become your fault if you are even a smidge over the legal limit. It was a very admirable thing that Stallworth took responsibility, compensated the guy's family and saved the taxpayers a lot of money. He could have very easily fought this all the way and perhaps won both criminally and civilly in court. I can only imagine how Stallworth feels, wondering if he had been completely sober could he have avoided hitting the guy, even if the guy pulled the boner of his life by running out in front of a car without looking first. So notwithstanding this shining example of a man taking responsible for something that may very well have been unavoidable anyway, and you still have holier-than-though buttholes who are going to take a shot because they think they have the right to pass judgment on others (regardless of their lack of direct knowledge of the situation), and even though but by the grace of God go they. This could have happened to anybody who's been out, had a few (and perhaps even just one too many) and some guy pulls something like that. But because you blow just over the limit, it doesn't matter that even sober you couldn't have avoided the accident. But hey Skoob, if taking shots and judging others makes you feel better about your pathetic self, who am I to tell you not to. You're the one who comes off like the arrogant, self-righteous turd.
  12. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously faulty. There are instances of women who have been raped and actually misidentify their rapist even though they are absolutely convinced that they ID'd the perp. People's memory of details become easily altered by later experience. That is why it is critical to present a lineup of people and to not influence the witness' choice. I am sure this woman is not a B word, not stupid, etc. She is probably scared, unnerved and desperately wants to get the man who is doing this put away (which is why she completely ignored the fact that he was wearing different clothing). Unfortunately, Corey was in the wrong place at the wrong time. This is insufficient evidence for a conviction, and there is no way that any prosecutor in his/her right mind is going to try this case. But it does serve as another example of why eye-witness testimony is some of the most unreliable evidence that can be presented at trial.
  13. The Bills draft team were very intelligent in the way they approached this draft. There was NO WAY they were going to get a guy that was going to come close to replacing Peters. Even if they had traded up, gave up picks and paid big bucks, the best they could have done would have been to have an unproven rookie they were going to pay the same or more money than the money for which Peters signed with Philly. For them to have done what Jamie Dukes and all of these talking heads were screaming for them to do, to reach for an OT, would have been disastrous. Instead, they stuck with their board and the original plan: Get the top rated pass rusher in the entire draft, and then rebuild the Oline from the inside out, taking the highest rated players at the guard and center positions. This builds a foundation for our O-line in a way that hasn't happened in nearly 20 years. Maybe we can actually convert 3rd and short more often than not for a change this coming season. Moreover, they got a guy who is considered one of the better if not best ball-hawking DBs who, because of that, projects to a safety but can also play nickel Corner in a pinch, and a tight end who while not the refined product that Pettigrew is, is one that is a willing blocker (just needs to be coached up and bulked up a bit) and who has the potential to stretch the deep middle like Pettigrew will NEVER do. The Bills took the best player available in combination with need through 5 rounds. Yes, they needed a safety who can actually play the damn ball and make INts. Obviously, they felt that the OLB/safety from Oklahoma was the best guy for that position available at the point in the draft. I laugh my a$$ off at all these media idiots who know nothing of the Bills roster who are giving the Bills a crappy mark on their draft because they didn't get an OT.
  14. If only the Bills had drafted this guy in the 7th round, all these guys who feel the draft became a disaster in the last two rounds would feel so much better.
  15. That almost makes me feel better LOL! maybe this season we can actually get 3rd and a half yard on a regular basis!
  16. You're right, the Vikes are a team looking for a QB as well.
  17. Of course that is the only way it is going to happen. And all I am saying is that I have read enough under the radar ink linking the Jests and the Bucs to Freeman that is very possible. My take is that when teams are making a lot of noise about a move right before the draft, they are trying to draw attention away from what they are really planning.
  18. Actually, that same rumor has been floated for the Jests as well. It will depend on how highly that either of those two teams think of Campbell. The fact that the Skins are thinking of grabbing Sanchez should tell you something about the Skins' concerns. If the Jets or the Bucs are enamored with Freeman, it won't stop them from trying to get the guy they really want first. And with Denver possibly in play, it only further makes any trade for Campbell that much less of a sure thing for any of those three teams.
  19. I believe that Washington (or possibly Denver) will probably be the team to get Sanchez at 8. It is a far more reasonable trade up than the Jets going all the way from 17. I believe that if Sanchez goes to the Redskins at 8 after a trade, that the next big play could very well be at #11. It seems that Tampa Bay wants Freeman, and they currently sit at 19. There were indications a few weeks back that the Jets were actually enamored with Freeman. I don't have a link for that, but I do remember reading that. It could very well be that the Jets are feigning interest in Sanchez when in fact they are still looking at Freeman, who is much more achievable in a trade-up. If TB really wants Freeman, they have to be sure they get ahead of the Jets at 17. And if either of those two teams really want Freeman and want to be sure they can get him, they might both need to get in front of Denver, who may be looking at Freeman as well if they don't get Sanchez. With two first round picks, I can't believe that Denver isn't thinking about a QB to hedge their bets with Orton. I realize that there is no way to know what is and what isn't smoke at this point, but it certainly is a reasonable scenario. I would LOVE to see the Bills trade back to 17 or 19, pick up an extra second rounder. It would provide a lot of flexibility.
  20. That was the guaranteed money! Could be worth as much as 78 Mil! Yikes!
  21. Yeah, and who we will have to take out of the offensive set every time we want to run the ball because they don't block for $hhitt?
