  1. This was obviously way over the head of some people. I guess when you can't complain about the Bills, complain about people on radio talking about the Bills!
  2. I chose to ignore it! Ignorance is bliss.
  3. That's interesting. We had our biggest needs at T - WR - CB -LB and filled them all in spades, and he gives us a C in the needs dept.?
  4. No. But there was only one for sure left tackle now guy and he was long off the board by the time the Bills picked in at 10. Glenn has clearly demonstrated he could handle the move to LT. For a second round pick, there is nothing but upside. BUT, even at worst case this guy could still move inside an be an all-pro. Not bad for a second round pick.
  5. Funny, but that was exactly my thought when I read his post!
  6. Why do you assume that HE was the one delaying it? Don't you think a team with lot's of money invested and a need for his services might have something to do with promoting rest and limited activity rather than season-ending surgery? And maybe even the doctors examining him had recommended that course of action. The fact is, his achilles never ruptured. It was frayed, but never totally failed. Perhaps the most prudent path medically, and the advice given him, was to see if it would heal on it's own first before taking the most drastic step of surgically repairing it? The good thing is that they finally decided to repair it before it actually ruptured. I would think that has to be better than the alternative from a recovery perspective. Oh come on now! Are trying to say that other athletes have had achilles issues who had never taken steroids or HGH? Nonesense! Everyone knows that there is a direct one-to-one correlation between achilles injuries and steriod abuse. Look it up! Where? I don't know, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere!
  7. I always thought she could be a Nose Tackle.
  8. Kyle Williams did NOT have an achillies injury. He had a bone spur on his heel that was rubbing on his achillies. There is a huge difference. These other men you mention had RUPTURED achillies tendons, i.e. the tendon literally tore apart and had to be repaired. That was NOT the case for Kyle Williams. They simply detached his achillies from his heel so that they could polish the bone spur down to smooth, and then re-attached it. There was no damage to the tendon itself.
  9. Yes! I said the same thing in two posts above. As I stated in my last post above, they would arrange the cap hit something like this: 10-12-14-18-20-22 or something like that. The GR report says 9.2 - 11.8 - 17.8 - 18.4 - 19.3 - 19.7. So on the first two years, iwas pretty close. The big difference was in year 3. They flattened it out pretty quickly for years 3-6.
  10. I have no doubt, a few decisions like this will be made. It won't be because of the Williams' deal directly. As I discuss above, the cap hit for the first year on Mario's deal will depend on how much cap cost they want to push out to the end of the deal. If you think about the deal in terms of its per year average, it's 16 mil per year. And that assumes there no unlikely to be earned incentives, which only count against the cap if they are in fact earned. Most teams use signing bonuses to skew the accounting so that the yearly cap hits are below the average in the first three years, and the higher in the last half or third of the contract. This is of course because the amount of cap spaceis assumed to be ever climbing. Anyway, depending upon how aggressively the Bills decide to skew the accounting, the first year cap hit could be really low, even like 5 mil. Problem with that is teams who do that too much find themselves with large amounts od dead cap space on the books years dwn the road. I assume the Bills will be more conservative. They will probably do something like 10-12-14-18-20-22 or something like that. But no way the first year hit will be more than the annual average value of the deal which is 16 mil.
  11. Not sure where or how you came up with this. Without knowledge of exactly how the deal is being structured, there is no way to know what his cap hit for this or any of the.6 years will be. The Bills could have agreed to pay that $60 mil in three installments at the beginning of eachh of the first three years as a signing bonus. Even if you have to account for the entire 60 mil from the start, the most cap hit that bonus will ever be per year is 10mil per year. Even if they evenly spread out the remaining 36 mil as salary, the most his cap hit would be in any year would be 16 mil. But they won't do that. They will pay minimal salaries in the first 3 year, so the cap hit will be more like 11.5 or 12. And without checkimg the nitty gritty of the new CBA, I'm pretty sure you don't have to account for a tiered signing bonus except the amount paid out up to that point. -f that's true, his cap hit the first year could be as low as 5 mil, his second year 9 mil and third year 15 mil. So many ways to structure. It all depends on how much cap hit they want to push to the last three years. But in no way did this deal eat up 25 mil in cap space. I would guess 12 mil max.
  12. I completely agree! I find incredibly annoying hearing "Hey, how's it goin?" "Hey, how you doin?". "Hey, how are ya?". If I were these guys, I'd ask, "you mean since the last guy asked me thirty seconds ago, or since the first caller asked an hour ago?" The things is, people say things without any real interest in the response. It is the automated response which I find annoying. Good morning gentlemen and into the call works for me. Requiring a talk-show host to answer those questions over and over every 30 seconds for every caller annoys the crap out of me. My next favorite one is, "and I'll take my answer off the air." I completely get why that annoys Schopp. He has no opportunity to follow up or discuss the caller's point. Guess I'm in the minority with you!
  13. Of course, how else are you going to recruit more members to the cult? Predicate salvation on recruiting other members. Kind of like when you get two free months from the gym if you recruit your friends and family.
  14. Dude! Get your mind out of the sewer!
  15. While I do not disagree with Chan's strategy, I bet this thread would be a lot different had something gone wrong on that FG attempt, like a block, a mishandled snap, a doink off one of the uprights. And then we watch helplessly as Brady leads them down the field for the game winner in overtime because they win the toss and get the ball first. Just sayin'. What I wonder is what Chan might have been able to do with JP had he been here when he was drafted. The guy has a rifle arm and tremendous mobility. I know there are people on this board who think JP was stupid, but I don't think that was a given nor really proven. He was under siege most of the time and I believe Dick tried to force him to stay in the pocket. He and his OCs did not let him play his game, nor did they have an offense that was well-suited to his strengths. I'm very glad we have Fitz, but I can't help but wonder what might have been. I think QBs are very much a product of their environment as they develop, or don't, and even Fitz has, only since hooking up with Chan, had a chance to truely blossom.
  16. This, and Freddie's catch and run itself, which was just so Freddie!
  17. I don't know about all of this other stuff, but the guy is playing hurt. He is not showing up on the injury report, but he is playing with this flack jacket looking piece under his jersey that is below the shoulder on the left side, and rises up and wraps around the top of his right shoulder. This is the same arm that he hurt in the KC game on like the second play, when he game out holding his right arm like he'd been shot in it. I sat behind the Bills bench on Sunday, 14 rows up and watched him come out at least twice during the game, where they pulled of his jersey and adjusted the thing. They were also wrapping that same arm right above the top of the bicep and just below the shoulder. Now I realize these guys all play hurt, but I really believe that he is not 100% or near it, and that he could even be playing with a slightly separated shoulder or even an injured bicep. If that is the case, I am sure he is not going to be as effective. I watched him on many plays where he seemed to be protecting himself, if even just a little bit.
  18. I went to the Detroit preseason game a few weeks back (I don't know why, no one else did) and I told the guy who "patted" me down that he would have buy me dinner next time before he'd get to do that again. I was pretty damn surprised at the level of familiarity he had achieved in those bried moments.
  19. I remember that. It's been a LONG time since we've had an offensive line with some nasty in it. Kent Hull and company would have NEVER stood by and let that happen to any QB standing behiind them. I believe Wood and Levitre would take it personally today. Not sure about the rest. I was really appalled when Losman was taken out by Wilfork and the line stood there and did nothing as well.
  20. I'm sure they'll just have him amend his remarks to include "inside the stadium where beers are $20."
  21. Yeah, and although I was a kid when I was attending games there, I recall the occasional gat and blade brought in there as well. There's always someone F'n things up for everyone else. Yeah me too. Although one of my strongest associations is the smell of cannibas in the air and the taste of strawberry rolling papers on my lips.
  22. My lowest point as a Bills fan was hearing a large contingent of "Bills fans" cheer when Rob Johnson got hurt in a game (I don't even remember which one because i try not to think about it), while he was struggling to get to his feet after taking a huge shot and in obvious pain. It made me sick to my stomach and ashamed to be a fan of team who had fans that would do that. As I said, I try not to think about it. I don't care how far up the butt of the little guy one's head was, the man was playing his ass off and doing his best for our team. It was hard for me to bring myself to watch the next game.
  23. Number 72 - Ron McDole of course!
  24.
