Family of evicted fan sue local government agencies
BuffaloBob replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lawyers directly contacting potential clients is illegal and cause for disbarrment. Not saying it never happens, but they police that stuff pretty seriously and will suspend or disbar for it and no lawyer wants that. By advertisement? So what? Doesn't mean you need to go hire them. And being goaded into it? You don't have to do anything you don't want to do. Oh they told me I could win money. I HAD to do it! They held me at gunpoint and made me sign the representation agreement! Please. Bottom line is, there is no lawsuit without a Plaintiff willing to hire the lawyer to sue on their behalf. Just becuase there's always a laywer willing to do it doen't make it the lawyer's fault. -

Yeah, that ambulance chaser who was solicited by the family. Stop blaming the lawyers for lawsuits, blame the people who seek them out and hire them. -
Oh please! Stop making this out to be more than it really is just to support your soapbox. No one is HOWLING about anything. It is a simple fact that the Bills HAVE been disadvantaged by this flaw in the scheduling process, whether you are willing to admit it or not. No one in this entire conversation has EVER said the Bills would have been in the playoffs or SB champs if only it hadn't been for this scheduling injustice, woe as me. It is a simple fact, and it deserves attention by the league. And BTW, it is not beyond ALL of our capabilities to understand the variables involved. Moreover, they have software that helps them handle and prioritize all of those variables. This is most certainly under the league's control. There is simply NO excuse for taking the position that it's all good and the Bills should just grin and bear it, else their babies and whiners. There is no excuse or reason why your division rivals (and especially the top one) do not have to suffer this at all, while you get to "bend over" for it 5 times during the same season and suffer it in silence because, hey, you haven't been that good anyway. For league that prides itself on parity, they need to fix this so it doesn't unfairly disadvantage one team.

As to the first point, just becuase THIS year they ended up with fewer December home games does not mean the league in fact intentionally provided that relief. It could very well be that fewer December home games THIS year is just the way this year's schedule worked out. Unless you can provide a link or at least some evidence that this result occurred as a direct result of NFL scheduling intervention, it is of little value to this discussion. As to the second point, like it or not, the fact is that if this franchise is to have any chance of surviving as a Buffalo franchise after a sale post Ralph, it has to have a large enough revenue stream. Roger Goodell knows that, the NFL knows that, and the Bills know that. Why don't you know that?

Maybe those teams didn't need the extra time for going to school on the Bills, but the extra time most certainly works wonders for any team with key players who are nicked up and can benefit from the extra recovery time.

I don't know if you saw it, but my next post actually provides a link to the brochure from the software company that provides this software to the NFL and decribes the capabilities of the product. Check it out! [link]http://www.fico.com/...cess_2495CS.pdf[/link]

This is just a plain stupid argument. There are University PHd programs around the country that are rooted in scheduling/routing theory. This is WELL KNOWN. You don't need a commercially available scheduling software program from Microsoft or Intuit to do this sort of thing. It is a simple matter of prioritizing the scheduling parameters. There are thousands of academic papers published on scheduling/routing algorithms and heuristic methods implemented in software for calculating solutions based on those algorithms. I would bet my life that the NFL has software that they use to at the very least establish a first pass schedule for all teams, and then a way to go in and alter certain parameters and re-run the program as needed until they end up with the final schedule. This is in fact, NOT rocket science, nor is any required.

I guess because the Bills aren't happy with what appears to be a legitimate fairness concern regarding an aspect of their schedule, they should not try to sell tickets for their games. Oh the irony!

Because they were kept in town for one more week of conditioning after the vets were sent off on vacation.

It was his defense that kept HIS team in every game so that he could lead them back at the end. In his last year with the Bills, the offense point output was nothing short of anemic. Thanks to Bellicheat, everyone knew all you had to do was keep him in the pocket and he was ineffective because his throwing lanes were blocked. Flutie was a great improvisational player, but once NFL defenses kept him in the pocket he was uunable to function effectively.

Adam "Pac Man" Jones: In Trouble.......Again!!!
BuffaloBob replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Unless the stupid chick was attempting to re-load, then it's retaliation. Once she makes the throw, the idea that he needs to go punch her in the head to defend himself is nonesense. He was just PO'd and decided that Beeyatch needed her comeupance. I'm not saying what she did was ok. She needs to be charged with assault. But I suspect, so does he. -

the Buffalo News article posted on TBD should answer that question. They were both 'grandfathered' in as to the time off. Everything up front and above-board for both. -

Byrd Skipping mandatory mini-camp
BuffaloBob replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That sort of behavior is not part of the Parker playbook. You basically cut off all personal contact between the player and the team front office and coaching staff, and you make them sweat. Also, it keeps the player from backing down from the confrontation due to feelings of loyalty and that sort of thing. I hope the Bills have assigned what they feel is a fair contract value given Byrd's projected value to the team, and if Parker insists on more, then the Bills should stick to their guns. If a trade with strong draft choice compensation is offered, they should consider it. If he wants to play it to the point of July 15th, they should let him. If he wants to play chicken into the season, let him. -
