  1. It's also a player's right to not show and get fined, as well.
  2. EJ's a BUST! Trade him while we can still get something for him!
  3. Jesus dude, what is that you don't get about the fact that Byrd's value is NOWHERE NEAR a first day pick and a pro-bowl QB, let alone first or second day pick alone! Who in their right mind would do such a thing for a player that can up and leave after the season? Do you read these threads? Do you understand that whatever team trades for Byrd is ONLY guaranteed to have him for the remainder of the season? Who is going to trade the kind of draft picks and players you are talking about for a guy that can walk at the end of the season. Of course, they can franchise him, but how much do you think any NFL GM is going to give up to essentially be in the Bills' shoes? Christ, it boggles my mind the number of posters in these Byrd's threads with visions of sugar plums and day one picks dancing in their heads. We would be LUCKY if some team was willing to go a 4th!! I bet if the Bills got a sniff at a 4th round pick, Doug Whaley couldn't hardly contain himself to get the deal consummated he'd be so thrilled. I am at the point now where I would be OK with simply dumping him for like a couple of 5ths or a 5 and 6 or something, just to get rid of him and his butthole agent. At the same time, I wouldn't mind the Bills saying F U to both of them, keeping him, playing him sparingly if at all, and franchise his azzzss again next year and letting him try to work out a deal with a team for a day two pick.
  4. I wanted to be that guy!
  5. You mean, he really DIDN'T think that?
  6. These guys have been listening to a little too much Alex Jones.
  7. They need to franchise him again, and then tell him and Parker to go find their deal with a team willing to give the Bills at least a second round pick. If they can't do that, then he stays another year. I'm not so sure he's going to get much more than the Bills offered him anyway. I mean, first of all, he is certainly giving every GM leverage with his PF problem. Secondly, look at the Buccaneers right now. They paid Gholson huge money AND Revis, and how is that working out? How many wins has that translated to, and how has that impacted their cap situation and their ability to build a team going forward? This is a joke right?
  8. That's BS. First, you are ASSUMING that unless you're Levitre's agent. I'm guessing you aren't. Secondly, all reports were that Levitre was NOT going to sign anything until he could see what he could get on the open market, which was a ridiculous amount of money for a guard. So if you mean that the Bill refused to negotiate by foregoing any attempt to top what was already a ridiculous offer, then OK, sure, they didn't bother to negotiate with him. As for Byrd, he had a chance to sign what was no doubt a handsome offer to remain a Bill, get lot's of upfront money and security, but because it wasn't TOP money (no way you can take $35 Million when your agent tells you should get $40!)so of course now he's been disrespected and the Bills failed to show him any love or commitment. Whatever! And just because the Bills are under the cap right now doesn't mean they will be moving forward, as future commitments come into play as well as the need to sign other players long-term. They tried to get Carrington signed up long-term, and got nowhere with Parker there either. And I bet Alex is wishing he had signed a nice extension NOW! Once again, Parker playing the zero sum "no dollar left on the table" game for his client and overplaying his hand when NOT in the nest interest of his client. I am more an more convinced the reason Jerry Jones and other GM's kiss Parker's azz they way they do in public is that they are intimidated by him and don't trouble down the road with him. I would be happy the Bills never signed or drafted another player that hires Parker, and I if they pick him up mid-stream, I would simply trade him for whatever I could get as soon as such a transaction was expedient.
  9. First, it makes total sense to franchise him again if you ever want ANY reasonable compensation for losing him. Otherwise, he simply walks to his next destination. So, if you want at least a second or a third round 2014 pick for this Tyrd, you have to franchise him first, and then start calling around. Of course, anyone who trades for him will have to believe they can meet their demands, or at least offer them something they are willing to sign. I'm not so sure there will be such a huge scramble to sign the guy myself. If nothing else, look at Tampa Bay, who signed Gholston and Revis to HUGE money. How's that working out for them so far? Also, you are completely WRONG that tagging him again would be tantamount to the team admitting they should have paid him what they were demanding in the first place. There is a huge difference between paying a salary on yearly basis, with no obligation year to year versus giving the guy tens of millions in guaranteed money UP FRONT, which changes the whole dynamic of the deal. Finally, doing the right thing for himself is not so admirable in a team game situation. It is the selfish thing to do for sure. I wonder how many guys in the locker room feel that is the right to do: to look our for yourself first, while all of the other guys are playing hurt for the team and for each other.
  10. Exactly which team is going to trade a 2nd round pick for a guy they can only be certain to have for the rest of this season only? Are you high or just delusional? What GM in his right mind is trading a 1st, 2nd or even a 3rd round draft pick for a guy they are not guaranteed to have beyond the rest of this season?? How do you explain it to your fan base when next year's draft comes around and your missing a high draft pick for a guy that's moved on to another team for bigger bucks or a better chance to earn a ring? Yeah, I'm sure the league will be knocking themselves out to offer up that kind of draft pick compensation.
  11. Actually, the Dem & Chron article says the exact opposite: "Both Kyle Williams and Mario Williams said they'll be fine for Sunday. Kyle Williams said his day off was a scheduled rest day." http://www.democrata...juries/2872037/
  12. I love how you added the option to trade Byrd. That's even funnier than the fact that it's the number one voted option so far! What exactly do you think you are going to get for a rental free safety that you will only have guaranteed for the rest of this season because he can't sign or otherwise legally commit himself to a long-term deal with ANY team until next year after the season is over?? Add to that that he supposedly has a bad enough case of plantar fasciitis in both feet that he can't play and his $7 Million dollar salary (minus 3 games), and I'd say maybe you could get a bag of balls and a couple of tees. You might get them to throw in a cooler for sports drinks and a warmer thingy for the sideline for later in the season.
  13. That would have been awesome. But hey, save it for next week! You can probably still use and it and maybe pick up a few posters who genuinely agree with you!! That would have been awesome. But hey, save it for next week! You can probably still use and it and maybe pick up a few posters who genuinely agree with you!!
  14. Ummm, Richardson has a bunch of years left on his contract. Byrd would be playing on a one year deal that can't be extended until after the off-season. Do ya see why that is different? In case you can't, it means that after playing out the one year deal, he is free to go anywhere else. So let's say your a GM and you're dumb enough to give up a first round draft choice to get him for the rest of this season, and he walks. How happy is your fan base going to be when you have no first round draft choice, AND Byrd is now playing for your division rival. Hmmmmmmm.
  15. I agree, but as an addendum to your point, the reason Geno was able to hold onto the ball a long time was their O-line seemed pretty stout. Of course, the Patriots pass rush is no great shakes, but I thought their O-line did a really nice job of protecting Geno.
  16. The hold was blatant and obvious! He tore his helmet off as he took him down! It was WWF at its finest. Stupid penalty to say the least. And yes, it started before the kick.
  17. Speaking of missed New England penalties, did you see the play just before the last INT Geno through, when Santana Moss was CLEARLY held all the way across the field and when he finally got free, he was shoved to the ground with the ball in the air? It happened right in front of a Ref, and it ended up hitting Moss while he was on the ground! No call. Incomplete pass. Nothing to see here! I'm not a big conspiracy theorist, but boy, when you see the missed calls in the Bills game, and then you see that, it does make go hmmmmmmmmmmm!
  18. Not exactly sure why you would say this. It was and still is in Hamburg. It has at least 15 TVs (including one at the patio bar if you like being outside while watching the game) and they are all tuned to the Bills when they are playing. It also has tons of Bills and other Buffalo sports memorabilia. The ONLY thing that I can say makes it NOT ideal is that their prices are a little higher since reopening. I guess something more serious must make it not ideal though. True dat! It's small, but the wings are awesome.
  19. I like the Wizard of Oz!
  20. Thank you, what I've been saying for a while now.
  21. It's all good. I'm not one that thinks he will pout and malinger. But he would certainly be harming his own future to do so. I do NOT like Eugene Parker. I think he has overplayed his hand in this case, and continues to do so. It has become this game of chicken to see who will blink first. I want the Bills to stay the course and simply stick it to him as much as possible. He should not be rewarded for his tactics.
  22. Umm, I was speaking hypothetically to a different poster, who suggested the Bills lose in this situation if he is unhappy and doesn't perform. Get it?
  23. Especially for a guy you are only guaranteed to have for one Season!
  24. I'm well aware of that, but once again, the ONLY franchised player he represents this year out of like 7 or 8 is also the only one that is playing this game. All of the others signed their tag, came into camp and are playing for next year. This sort of tactic doesn't obviously show up in EVERY one of his other client's negotiations. He needs to be taught a lesson. The Bills are spanking him right now, and while it may hurt the Bills as much as it hurts him and Byrd, I think it is totally worth it.
  25. You're looking at the short-term only. NFL teams, and the Bills in particular, have a choice whether to continue to let Eugene Parker play this game. The player doesn't win in this case either. Yes, he gets his 6.9 Mil for not a lot of production, but he hurts himself in the long run. You can tell me all you want that some team will pony up big cash, and I have no doubt one will. But it won't be top safety money, I would bee willing to bet my life on it. Not after clearly playing the game like he has, not after performing poorly because "him not happy." And moreover, it sends a message to Eugene: Don't overplay your hand and expect us to cave in to you in the future. I see that as a win for the Bills.
