  1. Blaming this loss on the location is lame, plain and simple. The Bills had two chances to win this game and their failure to do so has nothing to do with it being in Toronto. The defense once again had terrible lapses giving up 150 plus yards on the ground. Once again, the offense went back to running on virtually every first down and did not try to go downfield until the second half, on down and distances that made no sense. Until they fix those issues, it's lame as hell to blame it on the game being in Toronto.
  2. That might actually change if the Bills could contend for something a few years in a row. This loss has nothing to do with the stadium or the city they played in.
  3. If the Bills actually won on a regular basis, that would change. That loss had nothing to do with being in Toronto. If the Bills could win on a regular basis and actually contend for the playoffs, it would be a much different atmosphere. Those two game losing fumbles had nothing to do with which stadium they played in, nor did giving up 150 yards to them on the ground.
  4. Yeah, that's right. And Martin had done that, he might be facing assault charges and/or being sued for battery. I can tell you somewhere you haven't been, and the one place that is relevant, and that is an NFL locker room. I can very easily explain why Martin didn't go to those in authority. Incognito is essentially sanctioned by the very authority you claim he should have run to. Richie is on their freakin' Excellence Counsel or whatever that group was named to. He is a captain of the team. He was named the Good Guy award winner. So why on earth would you think that going to your boss and telling him your being harassed by this guy is really going to play? And how does running to the coach and telling on the bully going to play in the locker room? You think that's going to win this guy any fans in the room? I think not. This is like going to the warden to tell him an inmate guard the warden appointed is harassing him. How in the hell is that going to get you any where? Half the other guys are afraid of him, and half are his buddies because they secretly like what he's doing to Martin anyway. Stop pretending like you have any experience that could possibly lead you to have any idea what this situation was like for Martin. You can't see it, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a legitimate basis.
  5. OH, I see now. It was the Dolphin organization's fault for letting Richie be the a-hole that he is. It's not Richie's fault, as someone of authority should have stepped in and stopped him from being the butthole that he is. Yes, let's all feel sorry for and make the bully the victim. After all, he was only doing what his father taught him, he was only doing what he thought was ok. It was Martin's fault for being the kind of guy Richie is attracted to bullying. It's the team's fault and Martin's fault for not saving him from himself. Whatever.
  6. You are so smug and presumptuous, it just makes me laugh out loud.
  7. ^^^^THIS^^^^^ But you have to admit, it can be pretty freakin funny if you come onto the board with the proper mental state! My suggestion: sign out, go imbibe your favorite attitude adjuster, and sign back on. I assure, you, it really is hilarious!
  8. Ummm, no. I think he should get some game reps to 1) see if his elevated play on special teams translates to his play at wide receiver; 2)to see if he isn't better than Hogan, who has done nothing with his few reps on game day; and 3)to spell injured receivers such as Stevie Johnson (who was barely effective while limping around on the field last Sunday and was no doubt aggravating an injury that he shouldn't have been aggravating) and Marquis Goodwin who injured his shoulder. You mean to tell me that under those circumstances, it's merely "giving" him some reps in a game that aren't available in practice? Or are you just working at being a dick?
  9. I think EJ and Thad have. Both of them have proven that the game is not too big for them, and they are more than capable of executing the offense and moving the team. Now, if you want to change "play" in a big NFL game with "win" a big NFL game, I might have to agree with you.
  10. It's hard to do this once the season starts. When you start the season at number 6, it's hard to get the kind of reps that catch the coach's eye. I for one would like to see him get some playing time opps.
  11. Actually, the best question is, what team is going to trade anything decent to the Bills for the privilege of stepping into the Bills' shoes as far as Byrd is concerned? Oh boy, now THEY can be the team who has him until the end of this season and the only way THEY can be sure to keep him is to franchise for $8.5 Million next season. And everyone has seen how that worked out for the Bills. Yeah, maybe he can start the season sitting on their bench for them next year, perhaps hangnails will be the problem next year? You would be LUCKY to get a 5th rounder for the guy right now. I would be on my knees bowing down to Whaley if he got a fourth. A conditional third? Maybe in a wet dream!
  12. Me, too. The Legend of Kiko proves too scary for Drew Brees to handle. He craps his pants at the cite of Kiko and no one wants anything to do with him after he soils himself.
  13. Oh, so YOU have that kind of affect on these things, eh?
  14. Rome actually mentioned the interview again today. He said after the show, he tweeted #the legend of Kiko Alonzo, He said he got 600 re-tweets. He also referred to the interview as awesome and reset some of the interview. Someone else either tweeted or emailed the question, "Shouldn't Kiko decide whether Gronk is cleared to play?" This was following a discussion of Gronk's mom calling into a Boston radio station to defend her son. Pretty funny. Rome definitely is running with the Legend!
  15. But it is totally acceptable and OK if he's gay though. (He said, "comes out" AND balls out). I explained in advance to avoid all of the responses that would otherwise need addressing later.
  16. Thanks for posting this. I didn't get to see that game. What I really like about his performance is that he came in on like three days of practice with a new team, and he let it fly. He had good pocket presence, and I think he did a nice job of running the pistol read option. He made that defense worry about him running the ball. While he was pretty inaccurate throwing the ball, he seemed to progress through his reads and knew where to with the ball, but just didn't have the practice time to get in synch with the receivers. I think he makes an IDEAL kind of back-up. He is not the same QB EJ is. He's more of a Russell Wilson type. Not a bad guy to have on your team and perhaps would make a great change of pace guy even when EJ returns. Go Thaddeus!!
  17. Yeah, well that PROVES it then. He's worth $20 million per year!!!
  18. What I been sayin'. Think of it this way, if Byrd were on, say the Panthers or the Falcons, how much draft pick compensation would you want Whaley to give up to be in THIER shoes? That is, to have a guy that you can only be sure to have for THIS season, who didn't show up for any off-season workouts or training camp, who hasn't played the first 5 games for supposed injury concerns, who seemingly is a me first guy, and who apparently (along with his biggest butthole on the planet agent), thinks he should be getting Gholson money. Oh, and how's that working out for Tampa bay so far, BTW???? And now, realize that this is precisely what we are asking some other team's GM to do, just for the privilege of stepping into the Bills' shoes. Yeah step right up and lay your first rounders on the table boys, have we gotta deal for YOU!!
  19. Nope. I used to spend lot's of time doing that sort of thing, but it's silly unless someone is paying one to do that. My point is that those who simply make that argument, that this year right now we are x dollars under the cap, and therefore we should sign every free agent to a huge crazy contract because the numbers work out THIS season are doing so out their butts. Whether a team commits that sort of money (including the guaranteed money) to any player has to be evaluated with a view down the road, probably 3-5 years out. Teams routinely got themselves in cap hell on a regular basis by writing contracts for the now, and only thinking about what can I fit under this year's cap, without consideration of what happens when the cap hits keep escalating down the road. Then you're stuck cutting guys you want to keep to get under the cap, and crippling yourself with dead cap money into the future by doing so. You have to have a working 3-5 year plan of what you think the overall allowable cap increase will be each year, what the escalators are for each guy as the years pass, which guys contracts are going to expire and do you want to extend them. What market contracts look like for those guys in the future. Then you have to also prioritize importance of the position because no matter what you do, you won't be able to keep everybody. The issue is just way more complex than, "Hey man, we're $20 million under the cap this year, so what's the problem? Pay the man his money." Well, maybe they didn't want to pay a guard $6 million per year either! How many guys on any NFL roster can you pay $6 million per year? Do the math! Maybe, you hope you can get a guy that you can develop for an average of $2 Million per year for four years.
  20. You are making an assumption that Levitre would have been a willing participant in that process. You are assuming that he would have gladly signed a discounted contract if only the Bills had been willing to do that. But based on the snippets of conversation that came out over the course of last season, he wasn't interested in doing that. He stated flat out that he WANTED to hit free agency. When a guy wants to roll the dice and test free agency, he isn't thinking about signing a deal before he does so. The whole point of hitting free agency is seeing what the market will bear. He clearly wanted to do that. He supposedly rebuffed Bills overtures to talk saying just that. So unless the Bills wanted to overpay him to keep him from doing that, he wasn't there to be had for a less than market contract as you suggest.
  21. Dude, just because they are 20 million under right now, does not mean they are $20 million under next year based on current commitments. People who make this argument are 2 dimensional thinkers at best. You don't just have to worry about what the cap space is right now, this season. You have to worry about what the cap space will look like next year, and the next 4 years after that, and especially when adding the type of contract Levitre signed in Tennessee on top of the raises and additional bonus money that will be due current players in the future. Moreover, there are other players they want to extend, and that adds an additional level of complexity in balancing the books for future years. Stop looking at as if it only matters what the cap space is THIS season. Unless you're signing him to a ONE YEAR CONTRACT, this year's cap space is only a small part of the total story.
  22. That's precisely the point: He isn't worth anywhere near that! And that's especially true at this time, not being able to sign long-term AND "suffering" with PF. All of the people on this board thinking the Bills will get anywhere near a day one pick, let alone day 2, are in la la land. The scuttlebutt is he could only get us a 4th round pick even when a team could have signed him to a long-term deal back before the July deadline! Right now, I'm guessing you might, if REALLY lucky get a 4th, but probably no more than a 5th and maybe a 6th or 7th thrown in. Next year, once franchised again and able to sign with a team long-term, a 3rd might be had if you're REALLY lucky and possibly only a 4th. You have to figure the Bills would certainly have been listening to trade offers, and you had to figure ole Eugene was, too. I can't imagine the Bills would have turned down a first or even a second last year before the July deadline if someone was offering, just be rid of this headache. The fact is, Byrd is a very good FS, but Troy P or Ed Reed he is not. Many assume that it was just the Bills being cheap. I suspect there's a team out there willing to pay him a decent contract, but he and his agent are wet dreaming if they thinks he's going to get anywhere near top FS money next year.
  23. It will just be Tuel time once again!
  24. And exactly how does he AGREE to contract ahead of time? He cannot bind himself legally in any way, nor can the team to him. You do realize that, right? I don't care what kind of wink and nod agreement you THINK you have with such a player, there is NOTHING from stopping either party from walking. Is the spurned party going to go to the NFL and report that the other didn't live up to their end of an unenforceable contract that was made in contravention to the CBA and NFL rules? It would be like calling the cops to report that a prostitute, with whom you agreed would blow you once you paid her a sum certain, ran off and now you didn't get your blowjob and you want the system to jump in now and enforce an unenforceable and otherwise illegal contract. But by all means, please tell me how that works anyway.
