  1. He essentially said this in his interview with Simon on GR this morning. Howard asked him specifically if Dawkins might be considered as a guard. Beane said that he would start at left tackle, but certainly made it clear that there will be a competition and that he could be moved inside if that is how it plays out. So it's his job to keep as the incumbent, but no guarantees. He also did say Ford would start out at right tackle, but he could play guard as well. Except for center, the competition for the other four spots should be very strong.
  2. And the competitons to come in training camp just to make this team this season.
  3. Give the kid a break. Belichik gave him no snaps the whole preseason because he was hiding him, and he was literally signed and put right into his first NFL regular season games, completely unfamiliar with our team. I'd like to see him have a full training camp and preseason before I ream him for the mistakes he made before the injury.
  4. For whatever its worth, Draftek had Joseph ranked 68 overall on their Big Board and the the top ranked OLB.
  5. IT DAMMIT. I need a new laptop. And a secretary to review my posts for errors. ?? BTW, that IS what SHE said. ??
  6. From the "Sources Tell Us" section of his profile on NFL.com "His tape has no middle ground, it's either really impressive or really ugly. Now go look at his production this year and you realize you can coach some ugly out of his play. He's a '5' right now but we can turn him into a '9.'" - AFC defensive coach McDermott or Frazier?
  7. And Green Bay says: "Thanks for the reach McBeane!"
  8. I'm actually just outside of Nashville in Brentwood working right now. I will probably have to listen to the radio while working. ?
  9. Yeah, I know. I should have checked first. Then when I saw exactly what you pointed out after posting, I was too lazy to delete it. Serves me right. ?
  10. Damn! I'm going to be in Nashville for a two week business trip. I might just have to hit this. Looks like fun! ?
  11. Well yeah now that he’s worked on his footwork! ?
  12. Maybe we can just pay a guy to send out people to collect other people's votes BEFORE they vote and then he can vote them all for Josh, and any votes already for Mahomes can be disappeared? ?
  13. Yes, and I'm sure there were no other variables involved at all, and I'm even more sure you are capable of knowing that. Everything was exactly the same except for the QBs throwing the ball.
  14. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. ?
  15. I'm so old I saw Ed Rutkoswki and Marlin Briscoe play QB at the Rockpile; I'm so old, I remember the live dance band they had in the dug out at the Rockpile. I'm so old I saw OJ's first game as a rookie. And I am never embarassed to where Bills gear, but it may just be I'm so old my brain doesn't know any better any more. ?
  16. Ummm, how do you arrive at that conclusion? He was 18th in gross average, 19th inside the 20, and 21st in net average. And as mentioned above, he kicked in his last 3.5 games in pain severe enough to IR him. Even if you went with gross yardage he was still 28th even though he missed half the season. Was he 32nd in locker room popularity? Oh, and he was 10th in return ydg against.
  17. I agree. Bojorquez was pretty good even though he was a rookie with virtually no playing time at all even in preseason because Belichick was trying to hide him. He averaged 45.1 yards even though he was in a lot of pain for the last three and half games he played before they IR'd him. The pass attempt came on the botched field goal and so did the injury. With some actual preparation and experience in handling those kinds of contingencies, he should be fine.
  18. I'm going to flame you because you are either unable to read stats or youo are exaggerating to support your narrative. Chargers - 54.5% Vikings - 68.2% Tennessee - 52.6% Houston - 58.8% Miami (1st) - 54.5% Miami (2nd) - 65.4% Now, I'm not a genius or anything, but that sure likes he exceeded 50% not 2 times, but 6 times. Now I'm sure you will find some other way to support your narrative, but how about accurately quoting stats when you do it. It at least gives you a shot at some credibility.
  19. Yes. Love watching Josh play. Looking forward to the team taking the next step this coming season.
  20. What I find not a coincidence is virtually all of the great QBs of today were not getting rid of the ball all that fast when they were rookies, if they even played as rookies. What you don’t seem to appreciate is that he is a rookie, and is going to make mistakes. He absolutely tried to make plays on those interceptions that were not there. He’ll learn. Funny, but I don’t recall Peyton Manning being even remotely mistake free as a rookie. Brett Favre was traded away after his rookie year, and his mistakes he made early in his career were well chronicled. Who knows that Brady and Rogers would have looked like as rookies, because they didn’t play early on. No no one here thinks Josh is perfect. NO ONE. Some of us just prefer to enjoy the good with the bad as he grows into the position. You know, because some of us are not deeply invested in proving ourselves right that he has problems and is going to be a bust.
  21. Funny, but I don’t recall Brady doing that as a rookie.
  22. I don’t get this one. Schmidt has been prone to shank kicks at the worst time. The lefty they signed from New England off of waivers was very good, but was roughed (no call) and hurt his shoulder in the New England game. He was in a lot of pain and it was affecting his kicking. That’s why he was placed on IR. They resigned Schmidt in a pinch and while he had some good kicks, he shanked a couple just like he has all along. Finally, do we know for certain this new kicker messed up the hold on the FG or extra point?? We negated the missed PAT anyway. So please explain to me why this is a point of contention here?
  23. One of the seemingly off target passes to Thompson over the middle was a failure on Deonte’s part to adjust his route back to the outside as Josh was expecting him to do. It was a third down pass early in the second half. Josh ran up to him and you could see he was explaining to Thompson how he should have adjusted the route and they continued the discussion on the sidelines for a bit after coming off the field. I liked the way the kid handled it. He was teaching and helping a new teammate.
