TY, someone finally sees it my way! I think once he faces more athletic defenses teams will be able force him to stay in the pocket. I think once he's forced into being a pocket passer he won't be effective. I love Teddy Bridgewater as a prospect. I don't know enough about Bortles. Derek Carr scares me because of the name. I also think AJ McCarron should be getting more hype. Only thing that scares me about him is played with so much talent at Alabama.

Who is your "I knew we should have drafted him" pick??

This. I will go with Jeremy Gallon. I have a friend who goes to UM so I watched a lot of their games. I think teams will pass because of his size, but I don't think he's to frail. He goes about 185. This is coming from someone who hated the Roscoe Perrish pick. -

I really liked Demaryius Thomas coming out of Georgia Tech. I saw him as a poor man's Calvin Johnson. He averaged about 25 ypc in his final season at GT. I know people will point to the Peyton Manning factor, but I ascending before Manning ever got to Denver. I think it's a little of both. He's a little more productive because he's playing with Peyton, but I certainly think he would have been more productive his second season with a better QB than Tebow. -
I know the rules are different , but what about closer ties with the CFL?

I was glad to see someone else say offensive pass interference cough cough Denver cough cough. What about they add an illegal contact on a defensive back 5 yard penalty on top of the already existing offensive pass interference.

If anything I thought Seattle had a right to complain about the officiating. I thought Wilson clearly had the 1st down and that the call should have been reversed or moved closer to the 1st down marker. I remember Denver getting away with a helmet to helmet hit in the 3rd that should have been a 15 yard penalty. Finally for some reason the Denver receivers seem to be able to get away with pass interference just about every play. It's real funny because San Diego & New England both got called for picks when they played Denver. I talked to KC fan who said Denver did it all year too.

Broncos 27-17. Denver's WRs have been getting away with murder all playoffs. (Not saying it made a difference in the outcome of either game) The officials know what a pick is as they were called against New England & San Diego, but for whatever reason they haven't been called against Denver. I expect a lot ticky tack PI calls against the Seattle DBs.

Let's not forget about the teams that won the SB while going over the salary cap. This one really bothers me as I always thought the cap was a great equalizer in football. I believe San Fran the year Steve Young got hid ring was one of them.

Belichick: Welker tried to 'take out' Talib

My point is that people don`t remember the calls that Manning gets as well as the ones Brady has gotten. -

Broncos receivers could be called for offensive pass interference just about every pass play I've seen these playoffs. Seems like the officials can only see it if the Broncos opponents do it as both SD and NE got called for offensive pass interference. Manning has gotten his share of gifts from the officials over the years. I still remember that Monday Night game against Tampa when Indy made the comeback and Vanderjagt missed the FG only to have leapfrogging called on the play something officials hadn't called in god knows how long. Having said that it's nice to see the Pats get a taste of their own medicine. -
I think Norv is a lot like Wade Phillips. Horrible HC great coordinator. If Hackett gets axed I would certainly be open to Norv.

I doubt they take a qb after taking Manuel last year. Should have tanked this season and taken a qb this season. -

Run Defense! This team has gotten pushed around since Pat Williams left. I'm still upset about Marv taking Whitner over Ngata. -
I wasn't commenting on weather it was the right or wrong move. I loved the trade at the time. I just wanted to say the Pats used the pick on Ty Warren & not Wilfork,
-
It was actually Bledsoe for what ended up being Ty Warren

Tom Donahoe- was he really that bad???!

I still remember when Mularkey was hired and he forced him to hire Tom Clements as OC over ken Whisenhunt. -
The "Peter and Ralph Principle" the Perfect Storm at Work
MrLocke replied to patfitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The thing I have been most encouraged by with Whakey is that he's actually brought in some new scouts. It seemed like the last few GMS the Bills have brought in have been getting advice from mostly the same people. Modrak was always Donahoe's right hand man. When Marv came in Modrak still had a lot of power. Buddy still took advice from Modark untill after the 2011 draft. I feel like this team really needs to clean house in the front office if they are ever going to win! Don't just change the guy at the top change the people around him too. -
I'm telling you when I watch football there is some stuff I don't know how coaches don't see it. I'm not taking credit for this one. It seemed like that was what the Patriots always did to him in the playoffs was blitz him up the middle and he wasn't nealry as effective. I know he was terrible Head Coach, but I think Romeo Crennel is a defensive genius.
-
No, it was because they didn't have a decent qb. Year after they go 11-5. In the long run obvioyusly Luck is way better, but Matt Cassel's stats were quite similar to Luck's as a rookie. Also Manning has the albatross of losing to a team coached by Norv Turner in the playoffs, Matt Cassel & Curtis Painter are not a fair comparrison.
-
Manning his whole team! Ha You can't be serious. Walked onto a team with a Franchise LT Tarek Glenn, Hall of Fame WR Harrisson and Hall of Fame Tailback Marshall Faulk. Also had the advantage of playing indoors & on carpet. For those who don't think playing indoors and on carpet is a huge advantage just look at all the qbs who had their best passing seasons in Minnesota. Cunningham & Culpepper. All you have to do is blitz the inteior o-line against Manning and he's inneffective. I don't know why teams haven't caught on to this sooner.
-
How much of this is lack of support from receivers? I hope he's in decline, but really i think he'sm just missing Welker, Gronk, Hernandez, Branch & Lloyd. Edelman has been his best receiver and I wouldn't consider him anything special.

Are Superbowl Wins a Fair Way to Rate QBs?
MrLocke replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was having this conversation the other day. Rings obviously aren't everything or Terry Bradshaw would be the greatest of all time and I don't know anyone who would say that. Stats don't tell the whole picture either. Look at Troy Aikman's stats. I think 24 td passes was the most he he had in a season. It is impossible to know what he could have done if he wasn't handing the ball of to Emmitt so much.
