Bills Trade 5th Round Pick (#149) to Tampa Bay
MrLocke replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don't find it at all troubling a 6'5' 330 guy got pwned by a guy 6'1' 285? Also the general rule when you trade picks a year away is 1 round higher than what you gave away. for example a 2014 2nd round pick = 2015 1st round pick. I don't buy into this he's good because he moves around stuff. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Polian just about always stand pat? -
RD5, Pick #153: OG Cyril Richardson - Baylor University

Didn't Aaron Donald make him look silly at the Senior Bowl? I'm going out of my mind with these picks! -

OMG Whaley is killing me! Richardson got destroyed by Aaron Donald at the Senior Bowl. I could see the trade for a 4th next year and not getting the 7th, but I can't imagine this trade adds up on the draft value chart! -
RD3, Pick #73: Preston Brown ILB, Louisville

I hold out great hope for Alan Branch. I don't want this to come out the wrong way because I think Mike Pettine did a great job with the players he had last year, but I really think Branch was a square peg in a round hole. I don't think he's meant to be a DE. I think Schwartz will use him better this year. Again this was probably out of necessity due to Carrington's injury. BTW I love the pictures! -

great Pass rushers no doubt. Bills 28th against the run last year, 31st in 2012 & 28th in 2011. DTS are the guys most responsible for run defense this is where the pairing of Kyle & Dareus have rated since they've been paired together. Yes Patrick Willis is a tad bit more athletic than Zach Thomas. -

When this team was successful stopping the run in the past it was because they had big guys like Pat Williams, Ted Washington & Sam Adams to keep blocks off of the linebackers. I don't know why Draeus & Kyle get as much credit as they do. -

We want a guy like Zach Thomas? The Miami Dolphins version of Ruben Brown? A guy who went to the Pro Bowl every year despite having no business being there. Thomas missed more tackles than he made. It's a myth to think tackle stats are acurate. They tackled that one on NFL top 10. -

Wanted Jace Amaro with the last pick and I wanted Tre Mason with this pick. I want to be wrong! -
RD2, Pick #44: T Cyrus Kouandjio - University of Alabama

I don't know why people are comparing him to Glenn. Look at his combine performance:http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/cordy-glenn?id=2532849 -

Hate it! Feel almost as bad as I did after the Roscoe Parrish pick. I said when Roscoe came out he was too small to ever be a #1 or #2 receiver and you only use 2nd round picks on guys who can be a #1 or #2 receiver. That 5.6 40 time is just too trouble for me. Might be able to play guard, but never tackle! I want to be wrong! -
A QB apparently named Savage or from a comic book

I've been watching Path to the Draft on NFLN and man oh man do they hype this guy! -
Excellent work Bandit! Just one question. What kind of a prospect do you see consider CJ Mosley to be? The guy just strikes me as a really safe pick. I know Inside Linebackers are not that valued, but I don't see him lasting as long as you do.
-
Vernon Davis! I wanted him so bad coming out of Maryland! No real reason I just really like guys who are freakish athletic. His combine performance had to be one of the best of all time! http://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?i=7349

NFL getting "hoggy" according to Mark Cuban
MrLocke replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You didn't say it was the best season you said it was statistically the best season. I would like to know best in what sense? If were talking QB rating then Nick Foles was better last season. I love Crennel's head to head record against Manning. Anyone can cherry pick a game. -
Rest In Peace Mr. Wilson. I've been a Bills fan for 22 years. I never made it to the stadium living quite far away, but the Bills gave me some of the best memories of my life.

Impressive season, but not the best of all time. Didn't even have the highest QB rating last season Nick Foles did. Aaron Rodgers 2011 was much more impressive. TD to INT ration 6 to 1. Manning's 2013 td to int ration 11 to 2. It might not seem like much, but for Manning to have the same ratio he would have needed 5 more td passes. If were going by gross numbers here's one for you Manning holds the record for loses in the playoffs. I love how you didn't say anything about my criticisms of him either. Good coordinators like Crennel & Rivera ( A HC now) know how to beat him. As for your sacks argument. Is there a more overrated statistic? You can get pressure without getting sacks. -

I think that Super Bowl says more about Manning than the Seahawks defense. Their defense was very good, but they're not the 86 Bears/2000 Ravens or even 2002 Tampa Bay Bucaneers. Those teams allowed fewer points than this Seahawks defense. The Seahawks coordinator knew what Romeo Crennel & Ron Rivera know about Manning. http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post/_/id/62706/nfln-says-peyton-mannings-kryptonite . Watch this game where Manning slides in the pocket. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2012091700/2012/REG2/broncos@falcons#menu=highlights&tab=recap I don't recall a more cowardly play in my life. As for this "casual fan" stuff everyone knows offense sells tickets. -
Well the Steelers certainly have an eye for talent. I've lost track of how many players they put into those olb positions who put up double digit sacks. Kevin Greene- Woodley and Jason Gildon just to name a few. I could see him doing something in Pitt.

I know my point about it being wide open had nothing to do with what Cuban said just my personal opinion. I actually love wide open football. I live in Canada and the CFL uses really wide field. It's wide open though because of the field, not because the dbs are treated unfairly like I believe they are in the NFL. If the trend continues I believe purists will get frustrated. Again maybe the league's bread & butter is the casual fan and not purists. -

MrLocke replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. For me the game has just gotten too wide open. I remember when I was young and started watching football it was big when a qb threw for 300 yards in a game. Now there are guys who average 300 yards per game in a season. Just saying this because it has really turned me off the NFL the past few years. The casual fan might like it, but I sure don't. It's pretty much that now a defensive back looks at the receiver the wrong way and it's pi. Also it's like the receivers can do to the dbs wwhat the dbs could do to the wrs in the 1970s. I really wish the NFL would stop catering to the casual fan. -
Does Anybody Want Ryan Mallett On This Football Team?
MrLocke replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What about accuracy & intelligence? I always thought arm-strength was one of those things a quarterback just needs enough of it. It tells me he scored a 26 on the wonderlic, which is only 2 better than Geno Smith. I'm not against bringing Mallet in. I'd just like more info about accuracy/intelligence. -
Who are "your" Draft busts - then and now
MrLocke replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow! Good for you. I thought he was one of the safest picks ever. I thought at the very worst he`d a be a solid starter at tackle. -

MrLocke replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A couple guys I predicted in the past were Braylon Edwards. Not quite a bust, but didn`t live up to where he was drafted either. I also predicted kamerion wimbley would be a bust. Not quite a bust, but I think you expect a pro bowler when you select a guy at 13 and he`s never been to one. This year I`m going Bradley Roby. Has it all athletically, but I didn`t like how he played at Ohio State last year.
