Good article on the 4-3 vs. 3-4 basics
MrLocke replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
. I take it this hot pocket reference has something to do with short attention span? Could someone explain the reference please? There are some wallers who make long posts that I do not bother to read. -
Good article on the 4-3 vs. 3-4 basics
MrLocke replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I was watching football during this era I really only knew the big name players. Probably say 15 players on the Bills roster. As I remember and you can correct me if I am wrong here the Bills defense during this era would give up a fair number of yards but it always seemed like they were creating turnovers, as I think the Bills were usually near the top of the league in turnover differential. -
I'm a big South Park fan especially when they make fun of celeberties like Matt Stone and Trey Parker did in Team America World Police. Where I live the show is not as popular as it once was. I'm just curious is it as popular as it once was in other places or more of a cult-like following?

I'm not going to read that, but I must admit that the 3-4 defense probably more logical because it requires simply 3 defensive lineman as oppossed to 4 and I think it is probably easier to get 4 good linebackers than 4 good defensive lineman. The important thing is the Nose Tackle I think Ya Gotta have a big strong man at nose tackle kinda like Ted Washington. -
Yeah I saw that too and I was too lazy to post. If nothing else Tucker is solid depth. Good thing the Bills signed Jerman and Bennie Anderson. Guard is apparently a fairly easy position to fill.

I think you mean Napoleon Harris not Napoleon Kaufman. Kaufman was a running back the Raiders had a few years back who has retired and has become a minister.

AFCE- NE- Bye (Homefield throughout the playoffs) AFCN-Bal- (Roethlisberger has the sophmore jinx and the Ravens Pounce, Also Kyle Boller comes of age) AFCS-INDY- Bye #2 seed(Terriffic Offense) AFCW- Kansas City- (Defense finally improoves and they win 11 or so games) WildCards Buf- I see the Bills as the reverse of KC and Indy (I know Buffalo put up 395 points last year however I attribute this mostly to turnovers created by the defense giving the offense short fields) If Mularkey and Clements can make the offense average and the D and Special Teams stay the same LOOK OUT! SD- Roster pretty much in tact from last year. I think. I see the AFC as having it ALL OVER the NFC again this year. Other then Cleveland and Miami I think every team is atleast OK. Where as in the NFC I see many teams that Suck! NFCE- Philly- 1st seed Bye (Class of the NFC again. The only trouble they may run into is if TO holds out. IMO Donovan McNabb = One of the most overrated players he lacks accuracy in a big way. I think TO made him look good last year as he NEVER completed more than 60% of his passes in a season untill he had TO They Will be incredibly thin at WR if TO holds out. Who is going to step up Todd Pinkston . NFCN- Minn- I see this division as weak. I think they just win it by default. I think the Pack's D sucks and their o-line took some big hits losing Riverra and Wahle and I think this will finnally be the year you see a big deterioration in Favre's skills. The Lions could be tough If Harrington steps up. NFC South- Car- I think if this team stays healthy especially at RB they win 10-11 games. NFCW- Sea- Bye I think this team is immensily tallented and if they get their stuff together they could be tough. Wild Cards- ATL- They win about 10 games just because of Michael Vick. Det- Harrington is surrounded with weapons. Roy Williams, Mike Williams, Charles Rogers, Marcus Pollrad and Kevin Jones. No more excuses for Joey.

I like the show, too just one of the things I hated about it was how they keep using the same actors. For example, one episode an actor might play a role as some say in forensics then a few weeks later the same actor would play a victim.

Interesting little tidbit on NFL Radio today
MrLocke replied to HurlyBurly51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate to bring up Butler may he R.I.P., but Given that he had SO many good drafts and this draft was so horrible it seems to indicate that he tanked it when you factor in the other evidence. Erik Flowers? Travarrese Tillman? Corey Moore? Avion Black? Sammy Morris? Leif Larsen? Dashon Polk? Drew Haddad?. I think Tillman, Morris and Polk are the only ones still in the NFL and that Butler was so good on draft day getting guys like Eric Moulds, Sam Cowart, Jay Reimersma, John Holececk and not to get any help for the Bills in this draft just seems mind boggleing to me. Now in fairness if he and Wade had stayed with the Bills perhaps they would have contributed. His first Draft in San Diego was good as well IMO getting Tomlinson and Brees. Anyway I'm glad he and Ralph patched things up when Butler was on his death be. Also I am greatful to Butler as I believe he was responsible for some of the success during his tenure. Anyway I was meaning to bring this topic up, however I am glad someone else brought it up for me. -
I know Alaska Darin said he is a constitutionalist, however I have read the PPP board and was thinking he had strong Libertarian leanings.

The next best sport to watch after football
MrLocke replied to Tolstoy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The next best thing to the NFL IMO is NCAA Basketball specifically March Madness. I'm not going to say basketball because I cannot stand the NBA and I was once a HUGE fan. -
I get itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose and I use Aerius. I'm Canadian so perhaps Aerius does not exist where you are at. It works reasonably well, however the more I use it the less helpful it is to me allergies. Also I use tears naturelle for the itchy eyes and find them to be helpful.

I like. I've been impressed by the throwbacks. I wish the Bills were playing on Thanksgiving.

The throwback jersey is cool and all
MrLocke replied to nodnarb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fortunately I do not see it. I take it the legs of the Buffalo are the two guys and the remaining part of the Buffalo is the car, I'm just trying to understand your reasoning. These throwback jerseys look incredibly sharp, though. -
So will the Texans be wearing their throwbacks too
MrLocke replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
. Do the Titans own the rights to the old Houston Oilers jerseys? Houston Oilers. I saw on billsdaily it might be the San Diego Super Chargers game, because Buffalo beat them for the AFL Championships. San Diego should use any excuse to use their throwback jerseys. I like the baby blue Chargers jersey. Chargers Throwback. -
I remember reading a description of Haley one time as a pot-bellied run-stuffer. sounds good to me.
-
Chad MortonWell remeber all those restricted free agents the Redskins signed; John Hall, Jermaine Haley, Laverneus Coles and Chad morton seems Hall is the only one left. As Coles was traded, Haley is a FA and now Chad Morton. I must admit I thought Steve Spurrier was going to be a good NFL coach, but I was wrong.

I wonder if he is getting paid good coin for that?

Is this a new thing? Or is it a disorder that comes and gos and is acting up now? What is the story here?

I've only been to KK a few times in my life we kept going when I was away on vacation last year and they were fuggin' amazing. I remember lucking out and getting there when the hot donuts sign came on. They had free samples of the original glazed for us. I like the kreme ones the best, though.

I likes 'em. Is this a screw up? Or in other words should these be out already?

Question for "out of town" fans.....
MrLocke replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Never been to a Bills game in my life. I have been to 2 preseason Patsies games and a few CFL games, but never to a Bills game. I am going to make it to a Bills game at some point during my life. Hopefully several. I should add that I became a fan during the Super Bowl years and never looked back. -
I could see for Nascar but not for Starwars. People are going to lose interest imo and forget to turn in. It is like Fox does not want this show to be successful.
