I asked about this to based on the success of late round picks at centrer as of late. Daniel Koppen of the Patriots was a 4th round pick, Justin Hartwig of the Titans was a 5th rounder I think and I know he is not with them anymore, but Jason Ball started many games for the Chargers and he wadn't even drafted.

I live in Canada and it will be on TSN. The Sports Network is a Canadian channel. Maybe it will be on one of the ESPNs? Are there several ESPNs? Or is this just a big joke?

I did not know this. I always wondered in Madden why Arrington was like this.
-
Makes sense, but why would some rookies not be part of the union? I remembeer it was like this with Lavar Aarington for a while he was LB#56 up untill Madden 2005, but he must have been part of the NFLPA. Right?

Jets New Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger
MrLocke replied to MrLocke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I forgot about Fiedler. Is Quincy suspended on drug violations or in rehab, what is quincy's story. Either way as much as I dispise Fiedler he should be an able backup. -
Why is it that in Madden certain player's names aren't in the game and instead they get say CB#38?

Jets New Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger
MrLocke posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are several new coaches in the AFC East this year. A completely new staff in Miami with Nick Saban, however I am not too worried about Miami this year they win at max 6-7 games this. Also in New England it has been talked about Romeo Crennel leaving to become the head man in Cleveland and Charlie Weis leaving to become the Head Coach at Notre Dame. What hasn't been talked about too much is that the Jets have a new offensive coordiantor in former Tennessee Titans offenive coordinator and I am wondering what effect his hiring will have on the Jets' offense? Jets fans seem to have disliked Paul Hackett almost as much as Bills fans disliked Killdrive. I guess what I am wondering is why did Jets fans dislike Hackett and was their dislike of him justified? Also if there were major problems with the Jets offense can Heimerdinger Solve them? And Finnally If Heimerdinger solves these problems how much better can the Jets offense be? I also realize none of this matters if Chad Pennington is not healthy, except for that Quincy Carter is a pretty solid backup. Thanks. -

Big JP story I don't think was posted....
MrLocke replied to CentralVaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Terrific read. JP seems like the real deal. I must admit, though that in Greggo's first season as Head Coach I would read similar stories about RJ and I really thought that Greggo and his coaching staff were going to get RJ's career going in the right direction and that is why I am qucik not jump to conclusions about JP, but I hope JP ends up being the real deal. -

This was already brought up. The Jets traded for Pete Hunter people said he sucks so I'm not too worried. The only thing is Donnie Henderson the Jets' DC IMO had his unit reallyu overacheive last season.
-
Floyd Reese said about who would start. I always thought of Henry as a feast or famine in that he woulg go 1 yard run, -1 yard run, 2 yard run, then 15 yard run. I think for Travis to be effective he needs 20 to 25 carries a game and I do not see him getting that with Chris Brown.

Thank you. Tackle totals were brought up any time I here Zach Thomas and tackle totals I must take a shot.
-
I really think tackles are an overrated and subjective stat. I heard one time that for Zach Thomas if he jumps on the pile at the end of the play the statisticians will count it as a tackle for him, whereas with other players do not get the same treatment. Imagine if Zach Thomas made all of the tackles he missed he would lead the league in tackles by a very wide margin. Zach Thomas is the most overrated player in the league misses more tackles than he makes and still goes to the Pro Bowl. I do like your London prediction, though.

Verba getting some interest from Buffalo?
MrLocke replied to The_Real's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't mind bringing in Verba for the right price. I'm not sure what the cap situation is but I keep hearing about Mike Williams re-structuring, but I haven't seen any action. I'd say if Mike Williams restructures and now with Travis gone to the Titans the money is there to sign Verba. At the very least Verba makes the competition better at left tackle and I would see with him and Gandy atleast one of them would have to pan out. -

Rebecca RomijnBy Far my favorite Rebecca Romijn pic. -
The Jets traded for Pete Hunter a CB from Dallas.Traded. I really liked the idea of Evans or Moulds making Donnie Abraham look foolish, but it doesn't look like that will be happening. Anyway has anyone heard any news on Aaron Glenn?

Anybody know what happened to Jim Kelley?
MrLocke replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've heard him on a radio show recentley called Primetime Sports with Bob McCown. I think they said he is with the Hockey News. -
I was reading about him on NFL.com last night and they were saying the Eagles could take him as high as the second.

Talking to a friend who is a Lions Fan about JP
MrLocke replied to MrLocke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The coaching is a great point. I wasn't alive when Tom Clements was played in the CFL, but watching CFL games I hear plenty about him and its all positive. I also like his/ Mularkey's play calling, as I think the trick plays keep defenses on their heels. Also like people mentined about Wyche, with him having coached the likes of Montana and Esaison and he was won coach of the year. I could go on and on about the coachong staff McNally, Tyke Tolbert and Mularkey. -
Mortenson weighs in on TH situation....
MrLocke replied to Buftex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really though. Were other teams willing to give up as much? Or did Jax pull a fast one on Butler? Or did Ralph desperately want him on the team or what? -
Talking to a friend who is a Lions Fan about JP
MrLocke replied to MrLocke's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a bad reply, but I do not think Joey Harrington's play will have any impacxt on JP's play. -
What about the ones Peter Griffin listed off when Family Guy came back. That 80's Show. I forget many of the other ones.

So like the topic title says I was talking to a friend who happens to be a Lions fan and he was very insistent that for the Bills this would be a season where the Bills win in the range of 6 games. He kept on insisting that because JP is only in his second season and this is his first season starting that the Bills will struggle. He raises a good point, as very few quarterbacks come in and are succesful right away. There are the obvious exceptions Marino, Roethlisberger and also I thought Byron Leftwhich was solid as a rookie. I kept on countering with the argument that very few young quarterbacks come into as good a situation as JP Buffalo having the #2 defense and #1 special teams plus he has good skill position players with Moulds, Evans, Mcgahee and Shelton. I also raised the point that the Bills won 9 games with Bledsoe at QB and that it should not be too difficult for JP to match Bledsoe's play. Finnally I raised the point (Now I am not sure if this was Mularkey's call or Cowher's call) that in Pittsburgh when Kordell Stewart was struggling he made the right choice to go with Tommy Maddox and that the Bledsoe Losman situation was similar and that Mularkey was making the right choice to go with Losman over Bledsoe. Anyway I'm just wondering what it is with other's that makes you Comfortable With Losman at QB? I should add that I think the Bills have a top notch backup in Kelly Holcomb as I think Cleveland could have been succesful with him at QB with a better defense.
