  1. Jack was really a very good QB.Accurate passer with a decent arm.And he was tough and smart. I loved those games down at war memorial as a young kid.....Parked at a Jefferson avenue business. I remember that dirt walkway around the field that you could cruise DURING the bloody game. There was a rickety little fence separating that walkway from the players benches. Toward the latter years of WM..around 1970 I believe...Vince Lombardi came in with his Washington Redskins for a preseason game. I remember going down to the dirt track and standing within a few feet of Lombardi--who was relaxed and not in game mode since it was preseason.Of course I was in awe--being maybe 12 yrs old.-That Redskin team he had was very quickly becoming good and I am convinced he would have repeated his dynasty building had he not died so soon after from cancer. Jack came to our school one time to give a talk on civics.this was early 70s so he may have already been congressman Kemp.
  2. 1.Most of the season depends on the improvement of Josh Allen. We aren't going anywhere without that. 2.McDermott is an amazing leader of men ..but his talent as a football coach is unproven and debatable. Not saying he is a lousy coach but its up in the air re how good he is.
  3. looks good. qb also looks like a superior passer to anything the bills have had in ages.
  4. If Josh Allen significantly improves . If not we are gonna be lost in the 6-10 to 9-7 zone no matter how great our D is .
  5. well thats a pretty low bar..... did he ever give back the money he stole from various (small)kids thru intimidation?
  6. CK seems like one of those alcoholics who goes completely off the rails with any drinking. So that MAY be the key as to his football future. Other alkies could still play the sport(Namath) while still drinking. If he doesnt completely get on the wagon then look for a disastrous headline during this upcoming season.and that will be it.
  7. but not as strong as travis....not that that should matter much. gotta give henry credit in that he was impossible to tackle once he was past the line. i am looking forward to watching singletary play. he is unique and i think he will be a very effective player in the league for a long time. that would certainly be a high honor.....even somewhat like LB would be a win.
  8. he does that brilliant cut/shake before he hits the line(without slowing down). sets everything up.
  9. the key word is touches the 4th RB will get mostly passes. so 28-30 is reasonable.Allen isnt the best accurate pocket passer type
  10. ...shady will get 10-15 carries---which is what a speed and moves type RB should get at this stage of his career.Gore will get 10-15 because he has proven that he is still effective at an advanced age.Singletary and the other guy they picked up in FA will get 10 touches as well. ...Unless Singletary really shines
  11. the only great chest catcher i can recall was Jerry Butler...but he had such great talent and an instinct there that you couldnt teach. you are correct most chest catchers are a disaster
  12. VJ is super quick and fast as well.Love to see him in there in passing situations esp toward the end of games if we are protecting a lead and the front 7 is gassed.
  13. True. Sports talk involves changing your mind often. And this anti-Schopp thing is creepy.
  14. lets face it no one knows how good these people are before they get into the nfl....exc for everyone who watched EJ Manuel play or some other examples.
  15. gee i thought he looked great... emmit wasnt as good as gayle sayers or OJ or Brown ....not close
