  1. I give DJ credit for hanging in there under pressure. I still think he has very minimal game management skills.
  2. McGee,Stroud,Moorman,.....TO at age 35 and young McKelvin are close calls.-Although Jackson aint miles behind Thurman.
  3. Fact is--you rush for 1 yard--game over. You kick the FG--you give them a chance.
  4. thats encouraging...Jauron is the bossman though...sigh...
  5. that is the one redeeming aspect of the decision they made. But there were many many reasons to go for it ---outlined in the above posts. and many reasons why the FG decision gave the Bucs life.
  6. well...lol....--if there was a stupider decision to make he would have made it. Look at the track record.
  7. Sheesh--I wasn't aware of that aspect. Yeah..very much like Edison and Tesla. I wonder if age also can start to change these guys--make them weirder like it has done to Al davis.Altho Paul Brown wasnt extremely old when he was screwing Walsh over.
  8. and the raiders really arent a bad team. imagine if they had a QB to go with all that talent.
  9. I don't think it was an obvious call...but I woulda gone for it. You make one yard and all the drama is gone. Worst case they have the ball on their own 2. Kick the FG and you give them hope. If they execute on the first drive and score a TD after the FG--then as you say they are an onside kick and one of those excruciating Hail Marys away...and with this team.......
  10. no doubt...you just gotta wonder how much influence the son was starting to have by the late 70s-That was one horrendous decision.Walsh was really hurt by that-And understandably so.maybe that drove him even more to greatness..Cripe can you imagine Bill walsh coaching those talented Cincy teams of the 80s? By the way--I'm rooting for Cincy this year...I like the lovable losers....-Time for some new blood in the playoffs:) Paul Brown---I would say he is a giant along with Walsh, lombardi, Belicheck.
  11. the concussion thing...well --dont even wanna think about that. He needs to be more cognizant of that. That could be career ending.
  12. Thats right Dr Dank--and thank God---cuz if we had only one of them--and they went down with an injury--welcome to the Xavier Omon show....
  13. He isnt quite as physical a runner as Lynch is...altho he is plenty tough. I guess no one knows if Jackson can carry the load for a full season because he never has(in the NFL). I don't think its necessary for either one of them to carry the load now. Thats a good thing.
  14. Bill Walsh the genius. And didnt get his first headcoaching job til he was in his late 40s. Aah the wisdom of the Brown family...
  15. Alpha---I said the same thing earlier--and got some very angry feedback. Yes the diversion factor is strong when the opposing team puts so many resources toward stopping 2 guys. But we definitely need these big time players to be more involved. Esp against an unforgiving offense like the Saints'.
  16. exactly. the defender got a hand on the ball and knocked it away. I put that one on Trent--underthrew it a tad.
  17. Don Coryell didnt buy conventional thinking....George Allen didnt buy conventional thinking...................they did well but neither won the big one..
  18. Lynch did dominate a few games last year. Look forward to him playing. Lynch is very very strong and a beast past the line. We'll see. As you say the biggest thing will be incorporating everyone into the offense. Easier said than done.
  19. I'd love to see what we could do with a real passrush from our D line. These stats are very encouraging.
  20. absolutely. no way you start Lynch. Let'em share the load .
  21. I must give Schobel,Stroud and the boys credit and the boys credit for covering their ground
  22. which isd why we need to do something very different vs the saints...like not playing 10 yds off the receivers in that quasi zone. lets cover those guys Robert James style---blitz Brees a lot--and see where the chips fall. If we do what we have been vs Brees then we better score every single time on offense
