  1. its is?? you think todays o linemen are faster than in the 60s or 70s???---you think the bills LBs today are faster than the KC chiefs LBs of the 60s 70s??? -How about the raiders LBs from 80s?--What Bills receivers on todays teams are faster than their 70s group?? Stevie would lose a 100 yd dash to JD hIll by 5 yards. Cj would give OJ a run for his money in the 40 but be blown away in the 100.This faster game stuff is a myth. the difference is that O line now averages 320 vs 270 back then. Its todays style---but was popularized by the early 90s Cowboys. These fat o linemen are certainly very effective and I can understand why they grow them these days. But they certainly aren't faster. The other positions there is no difference in speed overall.
  2. players were more skillful back then. the only thing they lacked was offensive line size. you think the fearsome foursome was smaller and weaker than jeff wright, phil Hansen and bruce?? On Bruce's behalf----Deacons linemates were far superior so Bruce got a ton of attention.---I would call it a draw--having seen both guys play. right on the money.---and another thing to ponder----for those who pretend the players today are so good....would Fitz have even been anywhere near an NFL starter in the 60s??---would leodis have been anything other than a return man back then??---The only huge difference I see in todays players is the mass of the offensive linemen.........-and I think Lombardi etc woulda had a field day exploiting their size/bulk/lack of wind.
  3. so true about the arbitrariness. There are the ones that are obvious--the OJs,the Jim Browns, the reggie whites, the LTs,the Jerry Rices.-They may be 25% of the hall. The rest are a bit of a jumble....subject to amt of media exposure, luck of the draw re teammates, coaches, organizations etc. I think the toughest call may be at WR where a WR can be doomed by the FITZs of the world.-That HOVG list is very impressive.
  4. these 2 douches get prison time and the present douches in govt will get a slap on the wrist
  5. Chan was an excellent play designer. He was a horrible coach--and as a subset of that a horrible offensive coordinator.hard to remember such lack of common sense in any coach ive seen.-Like some brilliant engineer who can design a bridge but cant put together a swingset for his kids.
  6. I dont think he is anywhere near deserving of 177 all-. he was a good coach.Thats all. I don't think Parcells was very good either.take belichek away from him and he is a slightly above avg coach.
  7. Actually---he is slimmer looking than id imagined. 6' 6" and 265 is big but not like a muscle freak. If he were 6 1 he'd go about 220 with that build.
  8. The 9ers are the most talented team in the league.Unfortunately for them the 2nd most talented team in the league is in their division. They will be OK without Crabtree.
  9. 6.5 ......man those vegas guys are good. We have Miami and the jets in our division...and a supposedly easy schedule(altho u never know who is good from year to year). We really look like a 6-10 or 7-9 team. Big ??s 1.does darius show up? 2.EJ?? 3.Marrone?? 4.Mario??
  10. OJ,BRUCE,KELLY,SABAN
  11. 6-10...easy schedule depends on coaching,EJ,and kiko
  12. just because u criticize someones play doesnt mean u r pissing on them. he was a 'decent' run stuffer and completely lost after that. he just wasnt very good. good luck to him in indy.
  13. someone wanted sheppard??......
  14. the next isaiah robertson???????
  15. This guy doesnt wait for the play to come for him.Which is a change from Bradham.
  16. heres some film on brown...i like his quickness and reaction time--check out his moves at 5:53 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1mxZXyIlh8
  17. i like what i see---but he is very raw. bit of an awkward release. but i think it will translate well into the pro game--eventually.
  18. wonder how long these QBs will last in the 2nd rd..??
  19. and the fact that no other qb was taken shows us that most of the teams werent at all impressed w the qb class this year
  20. good to hear........yeah the ypa is heavily tied to completion percentage(see cpt checkdown)
  21. so i assume you like this guy??/ i never saw him play...
  22. i managed my dads shop on delaware near Flays in the late 70s....'occasionally' we stumbled into there after work...cough.... -i also lived fairly near hertel and starin--on Jewett.....the Colony??? sounds familiar...ill have to ponder that one
