  1. I think we should be looking at: M. Bennett TE, TAMU S. Baker, T (can play guard), USC J. Finley, TE, Texas C. Avril, DE/OLB, Purdue M. Howard, DE/OLB, Georgia M. Rucker, TE, Mizzou J. Tamme, TE, Kentucky J. Ikegwuono, CB, Wisc (if we can get him later than 5 or with a comp pick) I think we should stay away from: D. Strong, TE, Pitt - Pitt alum, he drops a lot of balls. In fact, during one practice Wannstedt said he was a lineman that thought he could catch...pretty funny
  2. Malcolm Kelly in an interview on Sirius a few minutes ago stated he's ready to prove that his knees are good, he got an LCL injury in the 5th or 6th grade and the first place he's going as far as visiting teams is...Buffalo. Tomorrow.
  3. His sidekick on that line Turk McBride is no slouch himself - he's a later round guy that may help too!
  4. Two quick things: 1 - When Jauron picked Urlacher, it wasn't to a Tampa 2/Cover 2 Defense. He also was penciled in as the starting SLB until Roosevelt Colvin beat him out to retain his original position, forcing Urlacher to MLB. He didn't play the T2 until he got Lovie, and began to complain because he doesn't like running down the middle of the field, which takes away from his ability to attack at the LOS. http://www.patriots.com/mediacenter/index....614&pcid=85 2 - For a real-world example of a MLB who started in a Cover/Tampa 2 and made the calls as a rookie, look at Vilma. From TC on he called the defenses his rookie year and became the leader after former Bill Sam Cowart went down in week three: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0FC..._n12416687/pg_4 2a. Tampa, Buffalo, Minnesota, KC, Denver (at times), Pittsburgh (with a 3-4 front variant), Chicago, Detroit, Indy and I'm not sure about GB.
  5. Marten's pretty cool - 6'7, 303 and can play ALL 3 positions on the line. If we picked him up, yet another big ugly to help out up front...
  6. The trade with GB is the only thing I disagree with - not because I don't think it's a good idea, but because Thompson will trade back, not up in the draft. He's known as a guy that likes to accumulate picks, not giving them up!
  7. Tipster and Pyrite, While I usually am in agreement with most of your posts, I have to disagree here. Deion was one of the first people post Mexico-gate (with the water bottle at the airport) to say plain English that sort of situation is what keeps a guy like Vick from becoming the true face of the NFL. He went on to say it wasn't a black or white thing, but those sorts of incidents reinforce stereotypes that are already prevalent and will not help matters. In terms of Adam Jones - 1) No one else would have gotten him to answer even those softball questions. If anything that shows to me that Deion is respected by the players of this generation and not "ignored with a shake of the head by the players." 2) Deion has a personal stake in this since he tried to mentor Jones while he was at WVU and upon his arrival to the NFL. He did the same for Devin Hester, to the point of moving him into his home. Was he biased with the fact it shouldn't be a year because of it? Absolutely. But I don't believe feels the way he does because he's black and so is Adam Jones. However, he does identify with him because of their similar backgrounds as black men who came from crappy environments. 3) I didn't know there was a rule that said Christians can't screw up like "regular" people. Just because you take JC as your savior doesn't mean you turn into him...at least overnight. 4) Noel Devine issue - Deion did the same thing as I mentioned with Hester, and as far as I know he isn't getting a red cent from him. Maybe this is a different case. With respect to your friend's dad - that's screwed up and I have nothing to defend on that case. If that's true, that's not only wrong, it should be illegal. Has he sued for payment? I think at the end of the day guys like Pacman (and Devine and Hester) look at Deion as a guy that was in the league and exemplified the "Prime Time" personae they now want to emulate. However, the only way the Deion of now can fix what the Deion of then showed those kids is to try and show them what he was doing (off field) wasn't a successful corollary to his on-field accomplishments.
  8. Tipster, according to Kirwan, who checked with NFL this morning on Sirius, the Bills are 22 million under the cap. I don't think they need to re-structure anyone with that much ching under the cap...
  9. Sorry about delay, was in a meeting... made picks, just swap the Tenn pick with STL. STL picks Hughes, Tenn McCauley
  10. Sorry for delay STL selects Hughes, Tenn selects McCauley. I was in a meeting...
  11. I like Siler (and most of Florida's draftable players) because they've been playing in a zone type defense their whole careers and at a high level.
  12. Tenn/St Louis is here.
  13. Tennessee selects Dwayne Bowe, WR LSU.
  14. With the 26th pick in the NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select Ted Ginn, WR Ohio State.
  15. Turner's visiting the Titans, so life may imitate our mockeroo.... Apologies for using 'mockeroo' in a sentence.
  16. Philly - Agreed. Announce it for the good of the order. I also see the merits of the trade back, but at the end of the day, the linebackers we want in this system, as illustrated by Briggs and Crowell can be had later on, so the premium on a 1st round lb'er or bust isn't there...to me.
  17. I am, shoot a pm. I third the vote for AP!
  18. I vote no for the aforementioned reasons. SD, msg read and response sent.
  19. Tenn would like to talk to SD, if they're here.
  20. Man, I can only pray the draft goes like this to see the responses of the teams when their guys are getting snatched out from under them!
  21. I vote no on Turner and will take Tenn if no one else wants them in addition to STL.
  22. st louis please
  23. I'm interested in joining up, how do it do so?
  24. Well, if we pick up a back to be 1a in the rotation and a guy that is a FB that can play short yardage HB (like a Battle, or McClain or Leonard or whomever) that essentially what we'd be doing no? And like it's been said, it doesn't necessarily have to be a draft pick - we can pick one up as a priority UDRFA. I think linebacker and/or running back are two positions in this year's draft we can draft for versatility and justifying 'doubling up' - either the rb and rb/fb as I mentioned or a lb and a lb/s tweener for depth at both positions.
  25. At that point we'd have what, five backs at least? Between the five of them and the line, I'm sure we can get a 1200/13td back. It might be 400/600/200 and 4/5/3 in terms of yards/touchdowns, but I think a platoon can work provided we have complimentary pieces.
