If Coles signs it will make the offense better
LynchMob23 replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was no way they were going to bring people in during the stupid money period of free agency. We still have a long ways to go and I'm sure they'll get a few people signed before the next two weeks are done. -
He was the fullback of their wedge on the KR team - and caught one once and advanced it a few yards. No biggie.
-
And as many media outlets have been mentioning, in this depressed economy a lot of the top tier guys will still get paid, but the b class and below are going to find substandard rates that they're going to have to take to come to a team. IF Jabari for instance doesn't beat some of these other corners to these teams by monday or tuesday, bet on him coming back here a mil or two off of our last offer.

Apparently the FO screwed up trading Dockery
LynchMob23 replied to coastalpika's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wires Crossed. Many thanks. So, we did save the bonus and ultimately the money in cash-to-cap with minor savings (500k?) in actual cap space. Am I on the trolley now? But - Bills fans, young, old, black, white, rich or poor....at this point, whenever you come on here, rail about how much the FO sucks...you're choosing to do that. You can choose to go root for another team, you could take up another sport in hobby. You know the personalities and the inclinations of all involved, so choosing to pick and pick really drives up your blood pressure and kills what it means to be a fan...no blind or "homer" but someone who enjoys a game and team through thick and thin. -

One thing: they HAD to get any trade for him done pretty much prior to the opening of Free Agency, as he was due a hefty roster bonus yesterday (5 mil or so) which we wouldn't have recouped in a trade. -
Bills host Drayton Florence and LB Jamie Winborn

Another linebacker to note is Anthony Waters of the Chargers who was cut today. He was their 2007 3rd round pick that spent that year in the McGahee IR-and-develop-NFL-style and then was a depth/ST'er for this year. In our system he could be the blitzing SLB we can rotate in. -
Anyone they're cutting today have to be cut today or they get their roster bonus paid to them on Friday, the first day of the new season fiscally. As a result, even though some are claiming that Ralph did this to save money on what he's spending this off-season,we actually gain 4-5 in cash to the cap and are credited 400+k on the cap. I don't like it, but from the sound of it, they have tampered with a few people and know at 12:01 they'll have them.

He also said the 4.4 comment, while laughing during his press conference at the combine. So, yeah, he isn't a blazer, but neither is: Chris Cooley (4.87) Zach Miller (4.87) Heath Miller (4.82) I think with him, getting into the route, getting open and making runs after the catch will equal any deep catches the others might get as a TE in a slot (Y open) position.
-
He'll still go in the first - albeit to teams happy to have him late. With him it's not so much the speed as it is his blocking, body control and hands.

I don't know if this helps your method, but we alternate by round with SF. So it's 11, 42, 75, 107

What Teams Would Make a Run at LT................

LT and Tony G are just what Warner needs to set every passing record next year in Ari. And a better line... -

Ralph & His Inner Circle-Jerks Looking Even Stupider

The difference between them as well is Gruden lost Dungy's players (and the ones he signed), Mangini lost his players and staff, Shanahan lost the owner's trust that he can get a defense together. The fact that the players are not mutinous against Jauron like they had been toward the end of Greggo and Mularkey helped in staying the course with Dick I think. Especially with regard to Gruden this makes sense - there are only so many times a player can take the Gruden Training Camp treatment and not lose respect/faith in their coach. For those that don't know, he will put the new draftees and players (free agents and such) and put them in a nice air conditioned tent, then blow the whistle and have them do a double session in the extreme heat of Florida in the summer. -
And if that is the case, why is it that every time the aggressive Ravens D goes up against the Colts, Manning torches them offensively, followed by their pansy/passive/whatever D forces turnovers, to again allow Manning to paste them? Even in their worst years as a D, the Colts have owned that aggressive Defense.

A few things from Bowen's report: 1. While he is correct about the cyclical nature of the NFL and the tenets of the Tampa 2, some of the best zone blitzes have been designed out of a One gap zone back front ala the T2. 2. Polamalu and Reed (Reed especially) at at times 30 Yards away from the line of scrimmage because - “Everybody has goals where they are, and defensively we always have a certain thing: bend but don’t break.” - Ray Lewis http://www.baltimoreravens.com/News/Articl...cript_1217.aspx "We played bend-but-don't-break," said Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, one of only two active Ravens to play in both games. "We have always got one philosophy on this defense. If they don't score, they don't win." -Ray Lewis, Comparing the current squad to the 2000 team http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...ns-follow_N.htm Size wise, three of the Steelers four linebackers are not what you would call considerably big. The Eagles have a good range, and the Cards and Ravens are about in the middle size wise. Don't forget we have a 240 pound Mike (poz) and a 250 pound Will (Mitchell). And prior to injury our Sam was 240 (Crowell). 3. While we do use the Tampa 2 as far as our defense goes, it's not nor ever has been the base defense any Tampa 2 Team. Have we used it at bad times? Of course. But if you look at any of our games, we've used (like any team, except maybe the Steelers or Ravens who would go Cover 4) a lot of cover three with a one-high safety, which for the outside coverage turns into man principles when in that sort of coverage. Additionally, we use the Creep, which to my knowledge the only teams I've ever seen use that had been the Ravens, Patriots and Giants in the first SuperBowl. That's a very aggressive formation that I feel has worked at times, and if anything needs to be used more. Oh, and look at the championship games this weekend. The Eagles will use a ton a zone, because if they don't they're blitzing against two-way gos with Breaston, Fitzgerald and Boldin. Same with the Steelers Ravens. I can almost guarantee you you will not see a ton of Bump and Run like you would with the Eagles or Giants, as both teams fake the press and then drop (oh no) to a 7-9 yard cushion to prevent the hot route off of a blitz. While the Tampa 2 may be phased out, one gap defenses will not go away.

Also, in one game played TE, WR, QB, Safety, DE (with .5 sack and TFL), Holder for kicks, and kick coverage. That's a Bills player if ever I heard one...

Frank Reich new QB coach in Indy
LynchMob23 replied to Catholic Guilt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one gap attacking style of defense isn't the problem; finding linebackers that can cover the holes in the zones is. Jim Mora Jr. thrives on that style, without being passive in his defense. Even Minnesota, despite its Tampa 2 leanings, uses the Williams Wall to implode the interior of the line and Jared Allen to terrorize the outside. Heck, the "creep" Fewell uses from time to time is something akin to the 3-4 rather than a 4-3. I know some of y'all hate the Tampa 2, but hate the coverage not necessarily the methodology and/or attitude of it.... -
Jeff Fisher upset at non-call!!!
LynchMob23 replied to Corp000085's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yup, but apparently once his knee was down, they should have counted it as a safety, even if he got the ball out after the fact. -

LynchMob23 replied to Corp000085's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Technically, we're even with the Titans. As bad as the Music City Miracle was, during the comeback we scored at least one touchdown with a receiver running out of the boundary of play and coming back in untouched (Reed I believe). So, there's that. Also, in Fisher's whining about the delay of game, he neglects to ballyhoo the safety the Ravens should have gotten for tackling Johnson in the endzone, to which Aiello stated, "Baltimore didn't challenge." I thought we had refs on the field to see a play, not challenges to do their job for them? -
That's exactly what Wade's doing in Dallas right now. He doesn't have a pure 3-4 NT like Williams, Washington or Williams (SD) so he's using Tank Johnson, a 4-3 under tackle as his nose. At the end of the day, Wade's running a "tampa 2" 3-4 scheme that blitzes a little more than we do. I think the 3-4 is great; a 4-3 is just as good. But you (like many have stated) need the horses or neither will work.
-
We don't have to draft a TE in round one - there are going to be guys like James Casey (Cooley version 2) or Jared Cook that will be there in 2 or 3 and we can snap up if we just want to do the Y-open stuff that the colts do with Dallas.
-
To be fair Dean, I've heard/seen Ray Lewis, Reed and co describe their defense as bend but don't break several times. I think the difference is, when we blitz our guys (except Mitchell really) run into blocks and the ravens guys run into the ballcarrier.

Arizona used to be the joke of the league
LynchMob23 replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, at the end of the day does it bother any of you outside of the message board other message boards consider the Bills a joke? I mean, at the end of the day, you either stay a fan of the team and can say, "I remember when people thought we were the joke of the NFL and now look at us", or you just move on and pick a new team, or just not follow the NFL. We won two AFL Championships, we sucked in the 70s and early 80s. We get to the Playoffs/Superbowls in the late 80s and early 90s, begin a descent in the late 90s / 2000s. It's 2009 now. We're all Bills fans here - we all know where the team stands. What I don't get is, why do we have to re-hash it every time a former Bill succeeds, a non-draft pick (or cut draft pick) does well...etc. If you don't like it, wait for change or follow someone else. Because once Ralph's gone and if the team moved, do you really want to think back on the time you followed this team as just moaning and complaining on what might have been? -
Add in the fact a guy like Manning has a 1st round starter outside wide, in the slot @ wr, in the slot @ te, running back...if you give McNabb premier wideouts, a better TE than LJ and another RB with Westbrook, he'd be lethal.

Willis McGahee's mouth getting him in trouble again...

This is the end of his second accrued year. So, if the rules are correct, he's an ERFA and not an RFA. Take a look at Youboty, 3 accrued years, RFA.
