But if this organizational deficit exists as y'all say, that leads me to two questions: 1 - How did we make it to the playoffs prior to the 99-present drought? and 2 - If you believe this persists, if you believe that losing, both organizationally and coaching-wise, why even follow this team? This isn't meant to be one of those, "You're not a real fan" by any means. But, if the purpose of being a fan at the end of the day is to enjoy a team in a specific sport, if you feel like many on this board feel, they don't draft whomever or whatever, they don't coach like whomever, why not follow the people/team that will not induce this stress or vitriol?

Once Jennings caught the sleepytime express shot from Wilfork, that egg stayed cracked. He was always someone who tried hard to get back on the field, unlike Williams running away from the field for hangnails...

It sounds like everyone (media included) just assumes they won't meet somewhere in the middle. I understand the defeatist attitude at times, but sweet baby J folks, he ain't even out the door yet!

Julian Peterson to be released
LynchMob23 replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's being released, or at least suggested to being released because he won't take a paycut in salary, which coupled with Tatupu's contract and Hill's franchise tag, there's 20 million being spent this year for their linebackers... -
DL is not going to be our first pick in the Draft
LynchMob23 replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would disagree with you in this one area - the person. I would go for Sidbury out of Richmond, because he has similar/better 10 times than the premiere pass rushers. I go off the 10 moreso than the 40 (4.66 btw) because of the explosion/get the passer speed is more important than hustling 40 some-odd yards downfield. 6'3, 265-266 and only prob was competition, but to be a pure pass rusher / strongside OLB that wouldn't be too much of an issue. -
Kevin Shaffer (Browns RT) Released

He played LG for the Falcons way back when, so it's not brand spanking new to him.... -
Arizona is shopping WR Anquan Boldin.
LynchMob23 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Philly and NYG have a greater need for a WR and will pay more to get him. Don't forget, the Eagles also have 2 first round picks - putting them in the catbird seat for a trade. -

Yeah buddy! Now that we signed TO, it's all the more

U gotta love the fact we have the us against the world and TO is on our side! -
For all the complaints by people who didn't want to be named against TO, Crayton, Austin, Jerry Jones, Wade and a ton of defensive players love and stand by him. Funky, ain't it?

Bills Official Spokesman chimes in...
LynchMob23 replied to VJ91's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Think of it this way: TO for a year to mentor Hardy and company is the icing on an already great cake. Add to that the fact he elevates or shames the game of those around him who won't match his intensity and I think we'll see who feeds and who fails to go with TO. -
Carucci: Only Trent's 2nd Year as a starter...

Actually, Sal (the person that first broke the story) and PFT's sources both said that Jauron was the person who mentioned trying to get him to the brass. So for y'all who say Jauron (ahem) - has no balls...is afraid of strong players...etc, be sure not to give him credit now and if it fails blame him for anything that goes wrong. (Popcorn...check.) -

If the Bills are going to employ a FB then maybe they
LynchMob23 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I loved Karney coming out - he was a big ole angry man that clocked people at FB. If we can get him in, let him compete with McIntyre, and when he wins, we have a kamikaze to plow for Lynch, Jackson, Omon, Jones, Capt and Tenille... -
I think it's because that Kawika can switch, and our Weak/Strong are reversed. Traditionally, the Will plays to the "bubble" - the area encompassed by the three technique and the end. Here, we play to the one tech and the base end (5 Tech). So that's a few reasons why, off the top of my head....

Anyone who can play an entire season with a separated shoulder (NC State/Rams as well now), because "my mom went to work every day with cancer, so I can't quit" cannot be considered a wuss.

Forget about "Tampa 2", "Cover 2" or the other quaint reference to a 2 Deep zone system. We typically use a lot of cover 3 and cover four anyhoo. The guys are in a 4-3 (traditionally under) front playing one gap football. Because of that, unless we go to a 3-4 these players can play in other systems. If Jauron were fired and a guy from the Eagles, Giants or even Ravens (who run the 3-4 with 4-6 principles) we could run it, albeit as always with some of their players brought in. Some of these guys (Schobel, Kelsay, Denney, McGee, Greer) played in that aggressive 4-6 like 4-3 when Greggo was here and were fairly statistically successful. Then, when he was fired and we kept Jerry Gray, we used it with Lebeau's 3-4 zone blitz principles added to a 4-3. So woe is not us, all is not lost. Unless, of course you are in the crowd that wants a 3-4 to cure everything wrong in Western New York since 'Nam. Then, we're outta luck.

either we are gonna play more man defense
LynchMob23 replied to NewEra's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most of the time the Nickel corner, even in zone, will still have to use man tendencies. He just had trouble with no real safety help over the top when he covered on the outside. In the Nickel, he'd have Donte over him and McGee will probably move inside. -
To alla youse who cannot admit that the Bills run
LynchMob23 replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's not that they use entirely one scheme or another. For instance, there are times when a double team that leads to the c/g climbing to the linebacker can look like a zone, but it's just a double team on a power. Right before Mouse left, they went away from a lot of the zone - and I think with that some people (myself at times included) presumed that they would go away completely. But, per Mouse himself yesterday at a clinic, check the splits and situation and you can probably guess when they're running a power or man-on-man scheme or a zone stretch. -
If Coles signs it will make the offense better
LynchMob23 replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nick, This is a pretty down year for Linebackers (or outside Linebackers in particular). Sure, we can beat down the door for a guy and pay him a ton to get here, but if one of those old guys get hurt, ole no-sand-in-his-pants is going to trot right back out as a starter. Boley was probably one of the bigger catches at OLB, and he went to the Giants to finally replace...Kawika. Or, we can get a guy like Peterson and push Poz to the outside, which wouldn't be a terrible thing either. -

LynchMob23 replied to Nick in RaChaCha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's cool - I think it's wearing on all of us. And now it's a catch 22 of FA knowing that Jauron has a year and not wanting to tie themselves to a HC that isn't guaranteed to be there a few more years. AND still have to be paid fair market value instead of ridiculous money. I think that these next two weeks though, we will sign a few guys. Like you said, our D was in the middle third of the nfl in yardage, and our scoring defense was in the top 12 or so - which, considering our deficiencies is pretty good. At this point we can figure they'll draft a DE in the first two rounds. SLB we can still pick up in FA, or draft worst case. Safety they'll probably look for a vet to replace Simpson. LG we can look at trade (Waters), injured (Simmons - who they are probably waiting on test results before they offer), older vets (Goff) or draft a C/G like Unger/Mack/Wood or a true guard like Robinson. TE - Trade or Draft. If we get Pettigrew, that's fine. But, if the price for a Scheffler or a Daniels is too high we can get one like them in the draft (Casey,Cook,Nelson,Ingram,Morrah,Beckum) If they can just make the offense a little more potent, I think we'll see (with the parts added) the defense prove to be made of sterner stuff. Same team Go Bills! -

They signed what are probably modest deals. But they didn't bring anyone on the midnight flight/train/whatever to Buffalo ala a few years ago. No big press conferences, just a signing and off they went. But continue in your jaded sarcasm. I wouldn't you to hurt yourself being rational.
