  1. Easier for them with the bloodletting that went down prior to free agency and the 61 Million dollars in cap room they had, leading to fans complaining "why aren't they spending". Can't all be shipped over to Man Utd....
  2. In the third where we pick, Herman Johnson, Canfield, or a few of the centers in addition to Urbik should be available. Almost all could start at LG.
  3. Touche sir....but, if we put him at Will, he can be the guy that the plays are spilled to. And, as a PSU alum, the one thing we don't have to worry about is him taking the right angle and tackling correctly when he gets there.
  4. I think the pure talent on this kid scream for him to be drafted - and in a different way than Gholston, who had to be schemed to get sacks. Maybin has that, the first step and the burst to close. The problem is rolling the dice, but for us, a pass rusher isn't going to help this year anyhoo except lowering the snaps Denney/Kelsay have to take as starters. If we put Maybin at Will Linebacker and rush him on Pass downs, he's two players in one. And at Penn State, he's already had to rush from a 2 and 3 point stance.
  5. http://imatopprospect.ning.com/video/maybin-highlights-2008 His own site (his agent runs it). He has a few highlights and interviews with Poz, Arrington...
  6. I think Jason Taylor isn't really the scout comparison for him - most people I've heard talk about Maybin compare him to Andre Carter, who has played a 3-4 OLB, 4-3 DE and LB. If he became Andre Carter 2.0, definitely worth #11. Because he's a RS Soph, I think that's why we have scant video on him. Scout has some, but not worth their "premium" bill.
  7. Maybin's in there and the one titled "Part 1" Look at the end for him. I would love him because a first year Pass Rusher doesn't develop overnight, so if we let him develop with his already sick first step we'd have a premier guy for at least 5-6 years...
  8. Look at it this way - the one thing Bill Cowher has said in his semi retirement is that if he has learned one thing, it's that you can't stress out like his usually would when a player wouldn't show up during "protest season". If it spills into the MNF game vs NE, or Training camp before that, then we may have something to talk about, otherwise, let's not go lambasting the front office just yet...
  9. Kugler is a McNally disciple, so he's learning what McNally taught. We can also hire McNally as a consultant for camp - that should help too.
  10. If you go to draftguys.com you can see this year's crop! Jamon Meredith, OT South Carolina http://draftguys.com/index.php/articles/dg...south_carolina/ Lydon Murtha, OL Nebraska http://draftguys.com/index.php/articles/dg...tha_-_nebraska/ Sebastian Vollmer, OT Houston http://draftguys.com/index.php/articles/dg...-_ot_-_houston/ TJ Lang, OL Eastern Michigan http://draftguys.com/index.php/articles/dg...stern_michigan/
  11. They said they wanted to go into camp with 4 - so if they drafted a pure receiver at TE and picked him up as a FA, they make sure they have the versatility to go 2 TE without sacrificing blocking or receiving!
  12. As well as Williams, who was his tackle (and he angled for the Broncos to draft...)
  13. Jay Cutler to the Bears. Hey Raymond, your new division just got a little tougher. Grasp that.
  14. One thing about Owens Poetic, TO is a guy that is a move the chains underneath - he thrives on the run after the catch with the digs, slants and all the other west coast staples. Granted, he can beat you deep, but by and large TO will be getting a lot of yards underneath while Evans goes deep...
  15. I think offensively, we are a run team that wants to throw in the short to intermediate, having the occasional deep "shot" down the field when coverage dictates it. I think the problem has been thus far the number 2, the tight end, the line at times and the quarterback. If the QB can get the ball out, the number 2 is here now (Owens), we'll draft/trade for the TE/use Schouman and Fine a little bit. The line is going to be a pickle until that's settled.
  16. Jim actually did it in reverse: got drafted by the Bills, LEFT and then came back.
  17. The thing about Duke that gets me with regard to this is, he complained here that he was played at an unnatural position his career here until last year - and he proceeds during that time to A) Get into a fight prior to halftime against the Pats and B) forget that it was a shotgun snap and snap it to air, something I've NEVER seen a center before do. Okay Duke, keep yapping...2010 is coming pretty quick. We'll be seeing you...
  18. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/31/...ping-at-straws/ "Former Bills center Duke Preston recently has signed with the Packers. And Preston wasn’t bashful with his views regarding his former team. He told Sporting News Radio’s The Monty Show on Tuesday that the Bills “might be grasping at straws.” Though Preston didn’t specifically mention the arrival of receiver Terrell Owens, it wouldn’t take a genius to make that connection. Preston also seems to be happy about joining a team that, relatively speaking, is more competitive in its division. “If you look at my four years in Buffalo, we only beat New England one time,” Preston said. “Green Bay has kind of historically been at the top of its division, almost the New England Patriots so to speak. So to go another team and another division that kind of is on the upper tier of it instead of trying to claw their way into the upper tier is a cool opportunity.” Apparently, Preston didn’t notice that the Bills finished the season at 7-9 in a top-heavy division, and that the Packers were 6-10 in the woeful NFC North, which featured two eight-foot-rim layups against the Lions." Thoughts?
  19. I think the difference for Jason is that when Walter Jones did it, he wound up being phenomenal every year after a holdout. Same thing with Pace. But since he's still learning, despite his freakish talents, he retarded his growth - because we all know if he had had a season where he allowed for instance 2 sacks he'd throw that in their face. Instead, he can say, "well if you didn't make me hold out I would have been in shape." To be honest, it may have been cheaper to give him what he wanted then (8 mil) than now. But, after Gross' contract, who's to say he wouldn't pull a Bruce and hold out again? Also, think about some of the stories that have come out involving other Bills holdouts - Cookie, Bruce, etc. At the end of the day, Ralph said, "I'll pay him" and left it at that. The fact that Ralph hasn't said that...yet...is telling as well.
  20. In terms of cap money, I think we're at about 10 mil, but in terms of actual cash close to twenty or a little more. This is evidenced by our continued attempts to re-sign Peters. Especially since the Bills like to use guaranteed salary. So, I think you're right in the 17-18 million spent - cap wise, with a crapload of cash to cap left.
  21. As of 2/26 - pre-free agents.
  22. Bob actually plays a lot at FS (like10-12 yards off) and winds up in the box, thanks to his 4.3 speed.
  23. I took that as a "get to know" a GM 15 months into his job. Not a puff piece. But you're focused on tearing a guy down trying to make the team better I disagree. Thanks for the debate.
  24. Defensive End - always best to have that Pass rusher and then the rest of the defense can be built around him, including the DT.
